I just don't get it. What caused Disney to go so woke and cater to millennial lefitst (wo/)manchildren instead of their bread and butter of kids of all stripes? I'll begin reading the thread to figure out clues, but Disney's becoming a textbook example of a company forcing unpopular products out of spite and assuming they're too big to fail. It's... inexplicable.

Because Disney is now entirely comprised of woke leftist (wo/)manchildren. They steadily infiltrated it over the years and now it's completely overrun. A lot of it can be traced back to Iger and Kennedy opening the gates and brazenly diving headfirst into politics, and of course the orange man takeover in 2016 which drove these people insane in general.

Some people seem to think if Kennedy was thrown out tomorrow Star Wars would suddenly be pumping out nothing but "based and redpilled" content. No. The entire company needs to be cleansed if you want to see this shit change.

I have to admit I am incredibly impressed by Mario's performance and it is not even open in the East yet. I did not go see it yet because in my city the cinemas were almost fully booked with families. Something Disney has not seen in nearly 5 years. I think Mario at this rate may make 1.5 billion easy, hell it could make 2 being optimistic. If it beats Endgame Dinsey will be incredibly triggered. That was their opus if something beats that that is not a superhero film it means their idea of stretched-out stories etc means nothing.

I am glad John Wick 4 followed the Maverick approach and is doing healthy too and DnD is getting blown the fuck out. Woke marketing is failing and will ultimately hurt the pocketbooks of these companies.

Disney is like all cartoon channels and companies: It sold out to the leftists clownhouse. I don't watch cartoons as many people here, but seeing the images or clips of the latest cartoons have been me wanting to jump through my monitor and strangle whoever makes today's cartoons for kids. They feel like perverted adults who spent most of their time on Tumblr.

It's very simple:
1. Kids have a tiny amount of money to spend, while manchildren have hundreds of dollars they are willing to spend weekly. Women are statistically even worse and will spend their entire wealth every month on things that will not benefit them in the long run. Add to it the fact that the amount of children keep decreasing due to low fertility rate.
2. Modern men will keep paying for franchises that activly shit on them, so why even advertise for them? Make things for women and niggers who don't have a markey share since men will buy it anyways.

Slightly old news, but I’ll post it here nonetheless.

Pauline follows the eponymous protagonist, an 18-year-old who accidentally becomes pregnant – from a one-night stand. With school stress, the climate crisis and the downfall of society weighing heavily on her mind, something she doesn’t need at all right now is catching feelings, especially not for her one-night stand Lukas, who, as it turns out, is the devil himself.

Supposedly "the Antichrist" isn't one singular person but instead a title and there can be several of them at a time. Given how many people of note responsible for tens of millions of dead just in the 20th Century alone.

A huge sign about the Little Mermaid is that the 3 obviously gay men (2 white, 1 hispanic) who saw the trailer (2 of them wearing pride shirts, 1 wearing a they/them shirt) during Mario started openly talking shit and booing when they saw it.

If even their literal target demo is saying fuck this movie.....

I wonder if the poll at the top of the thread should be updated cause I'm pretty sure there's a good half dozen Disney films that have come out in the last 4 years worse than either chicken little or hunchback 2.

I dunno, those two are notorious for a reason. You'd need to be more than just extremely mediocre to top them.

It was a gradual slide from the time Walt died and (((they))) took over. Even classics like The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast were a step in the progressive direction compared to earlier princess stuff. That’s why asking “when did it go wrong” is wrong, the correct question is “at what point did the gradual slide towards leftism become intolerable for you”.

“at what point did the gradual slide towards leftism become intolerable for you”.
Around Frozen, when they didn't want the SNOW QUEEN to be the villian anymore because she's a strong and proud woman girlboss with a queer anthem or whatever and so they made shitty changes very late into development

Most of the other bs started following soon after, while the movies before it like Tangled and Wreck-it Ralph were all pretty alright

Disney+ has given the green light to a new German show, Pauline, about a pregnant teen who falls in love with the devil. As in Lucifer. Satan himself. I…couldn’t make this up if I wanted to. No, this is not an April Fool’s prank. According to Deadline, it’s legit.
Deadline reports, “Pauline follows the eponymous protagonist, an 18-year-old who accidentally becomes pregnant – from a one-night stand. With school stress, the climate crisis and the downfall of society weighing heavily on her mind, something she doesn’t need at all right now is catching feelings, especially not for her one-night stand Lukas, who, as it turns out, is the devil himself.” There’s a lot to unpack there.
It feels a bit like Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, except with more teen pregnancy and less battling of good vs. evil. In fact, I take that back. Comparing it to the Sabrina reboot feels like an insult to Netflix’s show which, despite the amount of Satan in it, is a pretty good show. This just feels like some writer somewhere was pranking a team of studio execs, and it got approved anyway.
The show is written by Sebastian Colley and produced by Philipp Käßbohrer and Matthias Murmann, who combined on 2019’s How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast) for Netflix. The show’s trio of directors will be Arabella Bartsch, Alma Buddecke, and Facundo Scalerandi. Sira-Anna Faal as Pauline and Ludger Bökelmann as Lukas will star in the series.
For a long time, the series has been and still remains a project very close to our hearts,” said Käßbohrer and Murmann. “We’re thrilled that Disney+ loves this coming-of-age story as much as we do and that we’ve now been able to begin filming with such an amazing cast and crew.” A…coming of age story. Because every teen girl gets pregnant and then falls in love with Satan….right?

Very telling how two-faced Disney is with their streaming services if they green light this while putting disclaimers before Peter Pan for "racism" because they don't want kids to think wrong, for example. I think some high schooler getting pregnant after a one night stand with Satan is LEAGUES worse than a borderline insensitive depiction of American Indians.

Watched the Mario movie Monday night in a full theater. The trailer for Element played during previews and the girls in the seats behind me openly called it “Zootopia crossed with Inside Out” and openly laughed at it.

Disney had some casting news, announcing the actresses for both Lilo and her older sister Nani for the Lilo & Stitch live-action remake.

Twitter is predictably BIG MAD. Especially Black Twitter for some reason?

Parallels are drawn between the "colorblind" casting of Ariel and how it's all about "cAstInG tHe BeSt PeRsoN" until it isn't.

To the girls credit, she was born on Hawaii and is supposedly half White, half Filipino/Hawaiian. Auli'i Cravalho, the girl who played Moana, has a similar racial makeup and nobody bat an eye when she was cast as a full Polynesian princess.
Also, the actress does look more ~ethnic~ in other photos.

Very confused by Disney's casting process, it's like they're asking themselves "What will piss the most people off?"

Ok, while Disney did their ill thought out live action fairy tale/novel versions, those were still based upon prior animated adaptations. But now they are straight up redoing their own original animated properties; in Moana's case less than ten years old. It is completely ridiculous. Like, just get on with Zootopia starring byuu and and friends, because we know that's what the endgame is.

ESG and a company led by bankers instead of creatives.

This reminds me of the last month before Frozen got kicked off broadway where they actually cast a black/latina woman to play Elsa and whitened her facial skin for the role. It was pretty damn obvious in some shots that she techincally was in "white face".
