Her yellow half-dreaded hair looks nasty and trashy in every medium lmao.
Not even ghetto black women wear their hair like that...

She looks way more like a seawitch, the loose wavy hair + the random dreads make it look like its straight hair that dreaded on it's own due to being severy unkempt and filthy, and cuteified Ursula looks more like a friendly chubby fish queen, hmmm
You mean like Tia Dalma from Pirates of the Caribbean?

Oh man, FUCK this movie right to hell.

They got rid of Cobra Bubbles.
They hate actually good and likable black people.
Yep, said as much when the news first broke:
....I'm fucking done. I am literally done with this fucking company. YOU CAN'T SAY YOU'RE CHAMPIONING BLACK VOICES WHILE LITERALLY ERASING A BELOVED BLACK CHARACTER FROM THE L&S REMAKE BECAUSE HE'S NOT THE "CORRECT" RACE. LITERALLY GO FUCK YOURSELVES WITH AN EXTRA SPIKY CACTUS.

What makes this extra insane is they ADDED a black character in Frozen 2 as head of military when Norway in 1845 would not have had a black person in that capacity.

SNL did a skit on it.

Oh God, that means she's the one who convinced the aliens mosquitoes are an endangered species simply because of the matriarchy, isn't it?

Can't have a strong male figure doing what's best for impoverished children, I guess.
What was their problem with Cobra Bubbles? Big scary black men are an offensive stereotype even though he's actually a good guy? Perhaps they had trouble finding a black man who glows in the dark given his ex CIA background.

What was their problem with Cobra Bubbles?
take the transcript because I can't find good quality clips of the scenes I'm describing.

*after a disastrous day trying to get a job and trying to relax, only for that to blow up in Nani and Lilo's faces, too*
Cobra Bubbles: I know you’re trying, Nani, but you need to think about what’s best for Lilo… even if it removes you from the picture.

*Later on, after Lilo and Nani's house is destroyed due to the aliens' shenanigans.....*
Nani: Oh, Lilo! *Cobra puts Lilo in his car* Please don’t do this.
Cobra Bubbles: You know I have no choice.
Nani: No! You’re not taking her! I’m the only one who understands her! You take that away, she won’t stand a chance!
Cobra Bubbles: You’re making this harder than it needs to be.
Nani: But you don’t know what you’re doing! She needs me!
Cobra Bubbles: *points to the wreckage* IS THIS WHAT SHE NEEDS?! It seems clear to me that you need her a lot more than she needs you.

He had to make a tough but practical decision in regards to Lilo's well-being, And as we all know, making tough decisions in Current Year +8 is verboten. Things must be made easy and safe for our pets - I mean - minority citizens, because otherwise we'd be bigots and on the wrong side of history, and we aren't, we're the good guys, see?! Watch....ugh.....Mrs. Kekoa....fight tooth and nail to keep Nani and Lilo together, despite her seeing literally everything going wrong.

Ving Rhames, the voice of Cobra Bubbles in the orginal, to Disney right now.

All they had to do was get Him to reprise the role. Would have been perfect. But Disney has to fuck it up.

All they had to do was make a follow-up that was faithful to the tone of the original movie. Would have been perfect. But Disney has to fuck it up.
With a little amending, I have described the entire Lilo & Stitch franchise.

Also extremely important Cobra Bubbles is intimidating because it's an effective way to show how bad things for Nani and Lilo. He is big, strong and no excuses because he's basically stand in for more abstract long term failure if Nani isn't able parent and provide for Lilo. A big scary man is scary is simple and right there, he makes it easy to sympathize with Nani and Lilo.

As the story goes along and we as audience see more about Nani's and Lilo's struggles, failures and backstory, Cobra is allowed to stop being just scary. He never does anything actually bad but felt bad because how he was fraimed. Now he's allowed show the full picture. He isn't there to take Lilo away because he's evil, in fact he doesn't want to. He's still taking Lilo away because from what he has been able to find out that's the best for Lilo and Nani. He cares about Nani, recognizes that she is really trying but meaning well isn't the same thing as doing well and Lilo needs a certain level of success.

Cobra Bubbles is intresting, funny, complex, memorable and plays important part in the story and storytelling. I highly doubt that this new social worker is going reach anywhere that level.

Yeah, he's initially played up as the bad guy but he never does anything evil and only acts in everybody's best long term interest. If he actually HAD the ability to keep Nani and Lilo together, he absolutely would. AND DOES.

I rewatched the ending on Youtube and who is it that reminds Lilo that legally, Stitch is her property by law as her dog? Cobra.

Plus, the fact the guy who apparently took point at Roswell such that the leader of the alien federation or whatever is almost formally chummy with Cobra likely was a large influence in her allowing Stitch's death sentence to be commuted to life in exile, since somebody she knows is reliable and trustworthy is directly involved (incredibly ironic given what Cobra did was sell an advanced alien civilization on complete horseshit about endangered mosquitoes - but again, that too was for the greater good since Earth really doesn't need to worry about being part of space alien society).

And then that all just speaks to Cobra as a character - this dude was the front line with what could be considered First Contact, sold bullshit to a vastly more sophisticated alien society to protect Earth's people, and what does he do with the latter years of his life? Trades the Men In Black routine to go to Hawaii and become a motherfucking SOCIAL WORKER to IMPROVE PEOPLE'S LIVES. Dude is a hardcore servant of the people and that most of this isn't explicitly outlined since it's a kids movie really flew over modern Disney's head.

I kind of presume the Social Worker thing was a cover I.D.
