>colorism
Is this the new buzzword that allows the left to get around the whole "racism" thing because it's being done to whites?
No colorism is racism/appearance discrimination between people who are in the same race. It's an old buzzword within the non-white american activist circles.
examples: light skin blacks are more successful/preferred compared to darker blacks. Pale skinned hispanics vs dark hispanics. tanned south euros vs pale north euros.
That article is just about how race obsessed faggots think that a hawaiian actor is too light skinned for them. white supremacists wish they were as obsessed and racist with the racial purity of actor/character as twitter brain rots are.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but Elemental made 300 dollars at the box office, which is okay it is certainly not a bigger box office than Sound of Freedom but at least it made more money than Ruby Gilliam: Teenage Kracken. Don't believe me here is proof from LS Mark: https://youtube.com/watch?v=VcqeQSasUKo
(I know it is a youtube short and LS Mark is not liked by some Kiwi's but still).
People probably haven't mentioned it yet because it's horseshit. Elemental has a production budget of $200m as reported by Variety amongst others. Let's say it had a marketing budget of $100m which is low for Disney but would give a basic cost to be recouped of $300m.

As at 23 July it had taken $137m domestically and $219m overseas. Just over half of the domestic and 43-45% of the overseas box office goes back to the distributor/producer (Disney). Being generous to Disney (all of these numbers are generous to Disney) it has got $175m of that box office.

At the risk of stating the bleedin' obvious to quote Basil Fawlty this film hasn't come close to breaking even, let alone making an acceptable return on investment. It is a bomb!

Oh and as for your "proof": The dumb fuck that is LS Mark states it has shattered all expectations to become Disney's biggest animated hit since 2019's Frozen 2. He goes on to say it's taken $300m surpassing Strange World, Lightyear and The Flash. (Spoiler alert - these all bombed as well.) He states that given the marketing spend he's still sure the film is in the red going on to say that by the time it leaves theatres there's at least the hope that it might have made a little bit of profit.

So you've relied on a youtube short by the mentally defective for the mentally defective to justify a claim that the youtube short itself doesn't make. Congratulations; you are the dumbest rock in the quarry after the quarry took a special delivery of particularly dumb rocks.

I see all the Disney people screaming about Apple buying Disney (on Youtube). I think it's a major cope. This story stemmed from a puff piece going around in 2000 when Disney+ was appearing to have holes in its model.

I will be horrified if this passes through the trust committees as it would be viewed as Apple acquiring way too much and monopolizing the markets. it's also a tech giant which makes the trust community already on its hackles. Look how they were with Microsoft buying Activision, I bet Comcast will contest it as Apple would own;
  • Apple tv
  • Disney+
  • 80% stake in ESPN
  • Hulu
This is just the streaming platforms too and I can bet that is a major chunk. As for Pixar, Disney will merge them with Disney Studios and have a cull. We will find out with Wish as that is Studios next title and will most certainly bomb, as there is 0 interest in it.

It will go through without issue if Apple does decide to buy Disney. I'm pretty sure that FTC only got on Microsoft's case about Activision because Sony paid them off since the longer that shitshow went on the less the FTC's arguments seem to center around consumers and more about how much it would hurt Sony (which even the goddamn judge had to call them out on at one point). FTC has never, ever in its entire existence actually bothered to go after somebody for legit anti-consumer practices AFAIK.

At some point, as a point of policy, I see Disney moving people out of the Bay Area. Most of Pixar is in Emeryville, just north of Oakland. While there was a bit of a renaissance going on for a bit in the area, typical liberal policies are turning the area into a shithole again. Oakland leads the way but it's bleeding over into neighboring areas. Honestly, what do you gain by having two distinct studios at this point, both producing "family-friendly" cartoons? When the same could be done with A-team and B-teams under the same roof in ... *shudder* .... LA? You save a lot on redundant support staff, and you probably lose some expensive dead wood in the move.

Now granted, they tried this with moving the Imagineers out to Florida, and that went south. Which is why I see LA congealment as the more likely option. They keep the Pixar label for the B-team, non-princess stuff, but it's functionally just another cog.

I could see them also trying to get out of the Ranch (I think Skywalker Sound is still there) and the Presidio (Lucasfilm and ILM). But that's a lot harder move, with much more talented and harder to replace people (at least at ILM and Skywalker Sound). The Presidio itself is nice enough but SF is SF, a poo-covered, drug-infested hellhole.

Bit off topic I saw a user or two disney twitter users complaining about a "right wing Disneyland" being built and had to look it up.
TLDR: some billionaire named Gene Bicknell is trying to start a new theme park/resort in Oklahoma $2 billion called "American Heartland" and from what I can gather they seem to take issues with 3 things:
1. Its a billionaire funding it
2. the whole park if built will be themed to 1940s-1950s America
3.They directly compared it to Disneyland in the press conference and have something like 20 ex park builders and imagineers

Don't think it'll actually happen by its proposed opening (2026) but will kinda laugh it it does because an American themed park was one of Eisner's ideas back in the 90s, but it was in the later half of the Eisner Era so things tended to blow up in his face.

OK, you may be right....but Elemental is a success worldwide especially in South Korea. No seriously, it's at $356M for the worldwide meaning it's made almost as much money in South Korea this weekend as it did the US. So, you are kind of right...but still wrong.

Edit: I just noticed the overseas thing, in your post...but really I am saying it is getting there to be a modest hit...not a great hit...I mean it is not the greatest Pixar film in the modern era, I just saying it isn't bombing at the moment. It's just making it's money very slowly. Probably will end up, in the $335 to $340 million section.

Apparently the 7 hobos in Snow White are bandits. So I was right. And the prince is a bandit too, which I didn't expect.

Snow White isn't white, the dwarfs aren't dwarfs, the prince isn't a prince. Sums up Disney perfectly. Everything has been changed to the worse, only the name is the same.

'the bravest of them all'
It's so unbelievably cringey I can't see it being anything else. The whole "women are leaders" is such a dick envy trope it's unreal. Why can't women do regular shit all of us do? Like even being a scientist is no longer allowed, women must be activists to whatever goals males tell them are approved.

So Snow White and the 7 not-so-clever boys things? people?

Awesome, so everyone is scum, explains why they look like they do. They steal kids from the poor and sell to the rich and this is why it's a good thing.

Gangbangers.

Holy fuck you are a stupid niggerfaggot. If Elemental made $350 million it'd lose money. Movie theaters don't show movies out of the kindness of their hearts, they take a cut of ticket sales. Now kindly fuck off and go jerk off to Zootopia or whatever you Disney shills do.

a lot delays in total from the strike.
all because money more than Ai.

Considering the shit they've been writing for the better part of a decade and specially the last 5 years, I'm just surprised they haven't gone full hog with ChatGPT making the scripts. "Generate me a script of Dances with Wolves merged with Ferngully that has evil fire smurfs but the important part is that white people are the evilest". I don't see how it could do anything worse than prior avatar films.

Another riveting tale from the house of marvels! Excelsior!

pretty sure the smarter/lazier writers already do exactly that, then go over it to make it work.

princess leia did exactly this for years: https://www.slashfilm.com/548436/carrie-fisher-script-doctor/

dunno why people get so hung up about the whole MUH SONY MUH CONSUMER angle, when both are inevitably linked together. sony is the next big competition, of course the FTC is gonna fucking look at it how they are affected, and in turn the consumers. hint: "consumer" means fuck all when it comes to monopolization because at that point there is no way for them to influence the market anymore anyway - hence the whole antitrust thing which is supposed to prevent exactly that.

if apple decides to buy disney, it will be looked at the exact same way. can't wait for the inevitable COMCAST IS PAYING THE FTC OFF smoothbrain takes....

Yeah, I'm just saying that I'm surprised the studios aren't just going, "OK, fuck you, I get my nephew who knows how to use dangfangled computors and he'll do a better job!" and start having at it. Though they may just be in the prodding phase of that.

that would make it official, studios probably try to not do that (yet), especially with the strike still going on. however some are probably getting up to speed and get ready to go all in once it's cleared up.
but I was more thinking about the individual writers. imagine you have to come up with a script, or want to sell a script - why slave away for hours coming up with something when you can just feed "the ai" and get a handful of good foundations you can work off of? and who would know anyway?

basically like this:
