We have an explanation for why it looks like this.

Lol I'm sorry, what?

You are a bunch of fucking liars. You are just too damn lazy to want to put in the effort that has been done over and OVER again by the masters. Lee has practically all but admitted she's never watched something like The Thief and the Cobbler where EVERYTHING was hand-drawn.
This seems to be an ongoing thing with anyone involved with Disney movies these days where they make every excuse in the book as to why 2D hand-drawn animation is bad, even though the company that they work for was built from the ground up due to 2D Animation. John Faverau in interviews and commentaries for The Lion King 2019 would always say shit like "2D is just old and outdated. Younger audiences are not going to appreciate it like they would live action or 3D films. We have to evolve with the technology".

What's the point in working in a specific field if you're just going to shit all over it?

https://youtube.com/watch?v=oyRxxpD3yNwThis looks like an animation test before final rendering. Am I crazy? How are people praising this animation? It looks like shit.

Staring obviously evil white king so evil he can't even pretend otherwise, being taken out by the only black woman in the entire european kingdom sporting dreadlocks and a side buzz.

"100 years in the making."
Lol good job on revealing the entire plot of the film in the trailer, and as usual the animation, story and characters are generic, souless and predictable, not even the Dilf King helps.
Walt Disney is probably spinning in his grave seeing that this is the shit that will represent the 100 years of his company.

I finally bothered watching the trailer.

Jesus FUCK it's soulless. No nuance to be had, "y u no do all wish! :'(". If anybody had a smidgen of balls during the halftime spic-erella would get wishes from every fucking degenerate and start thinking a bit harder about giving eeeeverybody's wishes.

And you are right, they showed the whole movie, that's it. Add another 100 minutes of "isn't she so quirkyyyyyy" shit jokes with the goat and "bad man won't giv wish". And I fucking liked Moana and Frozen, don't if things are really getting incredibly worse or I just had shit taste.

This is so fucking predictable at this point. It's so formulaic.

Unless there's some massive twist, you can tell that this is some socialist-esque film where in the end everyone's wishes come true and it's thanks to the colored girl against the white male king that's a stand-in for a caricature of a capitalist. It's right there.

It was predictable when Elemental came along with its obvious analogies to interracial relationships and cultural/genetic differences, and unless I'm proven wrong, it's no different here.

What's up with that odd female characterisation? I feel like it's done by people who haven't had any interaction with real people and just doing how they think quirky woman are based on other content.

This is the main reason why they should bring back movie voice overs. Get the dude from honest movie trailers to do some serious narrations then we don't have a bunch of dialogue spoil the film in full.

It can't possibly be that stupid. That's the plot of bruce almighty if the movie stopped halfway through with no climax.

Going off the trailer I feel like I can sorta guess where this story is going.

King takes peoples' wishes and decides which to make true and by taking them those that had the wishes don't feel bummed out if the wish doesn't come true. Making everyone sorta fake happy since they feel everyone's wishes must be coming true while the king stores away the ones he disagreed with or reasonably thought would cause problems.

(You can see in one scene the king is pulling wishes out of people and then he has that one room with those wishes/orbs are just floating so why have them if the wish was granted?)

Daughter finds the wishing star that lets her make whatever wishes come true, but gradually comes to find how it also fucks things up so maybe dad wasn't that wrong all along.

Compromise ending of making some wishes come true if reasonable and giving back the wish if it isn't.

I would consider this if the trailer wasn't so blatant at picturing wishman as unhinged with his power over wishes and demanding hunts for our oh so quirky latinx.

Who knows, maybe a zoosadist will wish for infinite puppies to torture and spic princess will go "mmm" but something tells me it will we all good wholesome wishes to not taint the narrative, because people in power are evil (specially if white) unless they push the brand I like.

Main things he does in the trailer is agree he's handsome and then want to go after the daughter that I'm assuming took the wishing star.

Disney has had a thing in recent years of wanting to do villains that aren't really villains or at least are sympathetic villains. Like with the grandmother in that magic house movie or the mom from the period allegory movie.

The conflict will be that the city that seems like a grand paradise is ackshually really lackluster due to King Dad dictating what his people's dreams are allowed to be even when some of them are unreasonable, which the daughter will sorta learn but not really because she still has to be teaching the dad a lesson.

In all these movies the "villain" is a woman and the one learning a lesson is the parent, not the child.

The idea that a young Blxck girl is going to get proven wrong by and learn something from an older wh*te man is antithetical to literally everything disney has been doing the past decade.

Then again, the way they've set up the trailer, any plot that deviates from literally just that would literally be too stupid even by their standards, so who knows.

I first thought that was Patrick Stewart voicing the goat since he seems to be in the "I don't give a shit" stage of his career. Kudos to the real VA, Alan Tudyk, for sounding like him.

I decide what everyone deserves

Unfathomably based.

Also, the goat character with the design of an old Disney funny animal and the voice and antics like it's out of a Seth McFarlane show surely is the way to go to get back to old Walt's style and sensibilities....

Also, seems like fan-favourite Rachel Zegler has been blacklisted (no pun intended)

Yeah there's only really like some minor lesson for the kid like "hey maybe your family cared about you rather than just being assholes" while the family/parent learns the error of their arrogance for not understanding the wisdom of the child.

I just have this thought tickling the back of my mind that the Disney writers behind wish are going to invoke the "You'll own nothing and you'll be happy" meme. Like oh only a child would think you really need to have all these things you wanted, but after she becomes wiser she realizes all these people should be happy with less.

Where'd you get your sources Doomcock. It doesn't matter how much you wish for that to happen, the movie will still come out on time.

Personally I never really cared for the original Snow White myself. I kind of like the Robin Hood and The Seven bandits approach they're taking. Each of the dwarves' name is just an alias that they use for their cause. I wouldn't even be surprised if Snow White is not actually going to be her real name but but just that.

I don't know maybe I just want to have an open mind for once even if the movie is going to be hot garbage.

Would that be the same Patrick Stewart who took the role of shit in the emoji movie? He never gave a shit at least about that part of his career that audiences liked. We saw with Star Trek that, like so many actors, he thinks he has some great insight on the human condition when really he's just another retarded simpleton.

Also wouldn't be surprised but that's kind of the point. Whatever the fuck this abortion is, it ain't Snow White. The title character isn't Snow White (whatever they call her), the dwarves aren't the dwarves and the story isn't the story of Snow White. If they want to make an original story with original characters then do that. Just don't pass it off as Snow White.
