Somehow it's really taking me out of the fantasy of this setting when I see people with dreadlocks wearing extremely European clothing in a kingdom with deliberately mediterranean looking architecture and medieval props - and I don't give a shit about the Redguard race in Skyrim. The main girl's token Asian friend looks and sounds like Edna Mode.
I've always been frustrated about it. It's one thing to do what was done with the Redguards and make them their own people with their own lands, but to just have them as just another everyday person in a central village, or doing what The Witcher TV show did and make all the elves black, is just weird and takes you out of it.

We got a new screenshot for Once Upon a Studio.
hey Disney, where the fuck are the shadows? Specifically the ones on the floor around the characters.

A certain movie from 1988 didn't have this issue, so wtf is the problem now?

That's really my problem with it, somehow everyone is part of the same culture in this world (with a white king just tanned enough that I can hear the king = meditteranean and meds = blacks headcanons already). Maybe that's how it looks in parts of America but I'm actually willing to bet that's not true in most of the modern world and we have modern transport to scatter people across the Earth. They don't. It sure looks like cultural erasure to make me think Edma mode and the black crew are all part of the same, homogenous nation that's not Asian or African! Is she and her parents from their version of Chinatown or did someone wish for all the disparate groups to live in the same boring medieval fantasy? They made all the lightskins racially ambigious which was already a stretch but including actual Black and Asian people fucked up the illusion.

I immediately searched it and wow
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3513500/?ref_=tt_mv_close that trailer is something. Not sure if I hate more the image of shirtless men 5 seconds in or the crappy rap song that starts in the second half .... just wow

I am so confused by what movie wants to be - for kids? nostalgia? certainly not a good movie that could stand by itself

I really hate what Disney movies have become.
if you missed that you could count yourself lucky. dunno how much you are into rescue rangers, but this happened:

there was a better compilation from /a/ and /co/, but it got removed for "hatespeech". thanks youtube!

it's much worse when you think about a little detail called worldbuilding or even reality. how would people even know about other cultures? medieval twitter? which means, how did information got around before the internet and a global satellite system?
which leads to cope like some "history expert" claiming a traveling jogger merchant could have impregnated a local girl. not only is that a nice bit of racism implying dude fucks around then leaves because his job is LITERALLY TRAVELLING, but also ignores it's more likely a dude like that would be killed and shoved into a ditch for being a devilspawn or whatever. turns out without a steady supply of new ideas and thoughts people are racist and xenophobe as fuck (almost like there's a anthropological reason for it). and if it wasn't some random, there's a good chance the girl's father would take care of it.

TLDR: modern writers are fucking retarded. but those are the same masterminds that whine about racism but then claim "history is a whitewash"....

I decided to punish myself and watch the new Haunted Mansion movie. I liked the ride as a kid, and I thought maybe that even if everything else sucked, the set design could make it worth a single watch.
Huge mistake.
Abysmal film. Terrible, phoned-in acting, choppy editing, bad cinematography, lazy writing, and I kid you not, the CGI is worse than the 2003 Eddie Murphy film.
But WAIT! There's more!
The villain in this film is:
  1. The son of a wealthy real estate developer
  2. has been married several times
  3. is extremely egotistical
  4. And his name? Alistair TCRUMP
In the year of our Lord, 2023, the main antagonist of a movie is a flimsy illusion to Orange Man Bad.
I didn't even put it together until the last 40 minutes of the film.
I don't know what else I expected from the writer who brought us Ghostbusters 2016.

I don't see why Trump is everything wrong with these people. Just remember he did more for our greatest Ally of all time Israel than any other president in the history of this freaking land. They should be groveling to his knees just as the maga crowd does. Why all of a sudden Tara Strong decided to run for president and she was doing the exact same thing with Trump but did the same exact put things political as Trump would anyone bat an eye? Now fuck it I'm drunk.

New writers genuinely think the world used to be diverse and that Old Media is racist for portraying it as monoracial. They're simply "correcting the record" by making 13th Century France look like Gary, Indiana.

Back in the 80s, I watched all kinds of black people on television, on all kinds of shows centered around black protagonists. I watched shows with mixed race casts. I never once felt that anyone was trying to erase me or make me feel guilty about my race. I never once felt resentful about seeing a black face on television. I never felt I was watching a lecture or being preached to. Now, all that's changed. I'm heartilly sick of tuning in and seeing every commercial for luxury cars and vacation resorts being staffed by 90 percent negroes. I'm sick of seeing more interracial couples in a single hour than have ever existed in the history of my country. I'm sick of seeing Disney princesses with fucking dreadlocks. I hate black people now on a conceptual level, even if I'm fine with most of the ones I see in real life. Because I KNOW why the TV producers are shoving them into my face the way an angry dog owner shoves their mutt's face into his own shit. They're telling me that me and my race and culture are dying and rightfully so, and that they're going to dance on our graves once all of the evil White Devils are gone.

I want to live in the cozy world the 1980's promised me, with everybody getting along and no one really caring what race or sex anybody was. The Leftist fuckheads who took over the culture destroyed all that, because you can't grift people out of their money unless they're all hating each other. There is no profit to be made in peace.

One of the evilest things with modern media is that it retroactively causes you to despise old media for legitimising a diverse cast. Even though old movies diversity were usually great actors and added to the film.

Your anger is misdirected. The black people on the screen are just pawns. Be mad at the (((TV producers))) and (((advertising agencies))) instead since they're the ones who are actually pushing this.

Lilo & Stitch Gets a New Comic by Greg Pak & Giulia Giacomino in 2024

1696898345045.png
"Following the events of the iconic 2002 animated film, the alien Stitch has found his place in Hawaii with his 'ohana, which includes his best friend Lilo, Lilo's older sister Nani, Nani's boyfriend David, the aliens Dr. Jumba and Agent Pleakley, and social worker Cobra Bubbles. With the support of this extended found family, Lilo and Stitch are learning to somewhat moderate their sometimes destructive impulses with a new sense of responsibility. They all get to enjoy the beautiful sights, sounds, and tastes of Hawaii — and the waves! That is, until a new threat comes hunting for everyone's favorite, fuzzy blue boy — mysterious giant robots seeking samples of Stitch's own DNA for their own nefarious purposes! In a brand new journey that will take readers across the world, will Stitch be able to protect his home and loved ones? And how can he ever be reunited with his 'ohana if his presence always seems to endanger them?"
"The Lilo & Stitch movie blew me away back in the day with its gorgeous, organic animation and its hugely fun sci-fi elements," said writer Greg Pak. "But above all else, I loved its focus on the everyday struggles of an incredibly relatable family on the edge and a little girl and a little monster who somehow manage to save each other. It's a thrill to have the chance to work on this new series with this tremendous team."
>a continuation that actually seems like it builds on the themes of the original movie in a meaningful way
>no Pokemon rip-off experiments
>a person in charge that actually seems to respect the original work and not denigrate it

You mean the jews, right? Luckily they're getting their toilet of a wasteland pwnd up worse than the so called holocaust! Maybe after this conflict is over we'll see a real change in Hollywood.

Pretty much, though I'm a step beyond where I see the propaganda inyected in stuff from the 80s and 90s, the difference is that it was a lot more subtle then as well as a lot more entertaining since it wasn't all about just the message.

There already is a Lilo & Stitch anime
I think he's referring to the Disney channel series where they have to go and find all of Stitch's "cousins".
There actually was an anime too that was in Japan only called just "Stitch!". Lilo looks quite different in it.

the Pokemon ripoffs showed up in the anime too, yes, bringing it full circle in a way.
