I just want a show about evil people who do evil things. Whenever Disney gives a villian a spinoff they puss out like a bitch and hero the villian up. That's just bullshit right there.
I have the same feelings, bro.

And I like seeing the villain win at times like MCU Thanos and Joker when he killed Jason Todd.

Except you can't have a villian that seems Jewish or black or gay or transgender or have any other personality other then generic white man.
You can have a villain be those things, if you decide to go indie.

Wish was dead in the water the moment the stronk independed wonym didn't need a man.

Disney 's bread and butter in most of their iconic princess movies were the well presented romances.

Even in the "dark ages" with Snow White/Cinderella/Aurora, the princesses had great chemistry with their romantic leads. Both designs are well thought out and invoke great chemistry and atmosphere despite their limited time together, like a fairy tale :woah:

Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid are entirely driven by the romance. You end up with lesser films without it. (Oops, the remakes killed that.)

Even in the projects were romance isn't the focus (Alladin, Mulan, Hercules, Tarzan etc.), there was still effort to make the romance engaging and fulfilling. You never walked out of the film feeling like the characters are better off without each other. (Except in Pocahontas, with the sequel hilariously confirming it.) The only reason Tangled Vs. Frozen is even a thing is because Rapunzel and Eugene work so well together as opposed to Anna and Kristoff.

Even the most hardcore TERF will melt at the "kiss the girl" or the "once upon a dream" sequence. Ask millennial women about their ideal man and watch them answer Prince Eric 60% of the time.

How did they miss the point so bloody bad.
Everyone wants to find true love. This is relatable, the girlboss who does it all is not. This is only a power fantasy for a very small number of people. The movies could still be boring, bland, poorly written trash, but it was something the majority of people could relate to, they would have done well.

Make movies for a giant minority, and be suprised the majority hates them.

I do genuinely kinda feel bad for the natives that by far their most well known character (probably the only many people worldwide even know) is this weird version directly based on a real tragic little girl, and the movie isn't even good and the extremely forced love story sucks ass like ouch

Even in this pin thing she and john are not even included despite coming out somewhere in the middle of them

The funniest part is that 90s disney afaik was soooo jacking themselves off over this movie while the lion king was the b project and has done more for real diversity than pocohantos ever has since that live stage musical featured a lot of actual african stuff, made big money and is one of the most beloved disney movies for boys and girls alike, while pocahontas just gets more and more left out

Shouldve just made their native movie based off of that girl they used in night at the museum if they wanted a real person
I loved disney when I was a kid, but I remember watching Pocahontas and my first thought was "That's it?!". So if even kid shitlurker noticed how fucking meandering (and short) it was, I'm not susprised it gets constantly sidelined and ignored, what a piece of shit to sandwich between the Lion King and the Hunchback.

I still cant get over the fact that not only did they hire a pop writer to do their musical, they hired one who makes selena gomez music, some of the blandest bored sounding pop music out there imo.
Like damn even with shit like katy perry its at least vaguely ~*inspirational*~, but ive never had a gomez song convey any feeling to me ever. Lets get this for our musical theatre movie???
I guess they were going for that Elton John / Sting / Phil Collins magic and failed utterly.

I feel like tangled struck gold with this one where the love interest was a near perfect mix of funny guy having goofy things happen to him who occasionally needs rescuing from the heroine (her superpowers), and competent cool guy who saves the day and is proactive, and then they just immediately ditched it.
The story about Flynn's/Eugene's development is that they went around to all the women in the office and asked them to describe their perfect man to give him the ideal features/personality that would make him irresistible and charming. Feels like that would be considered borderline sexual harassment in Current Year.

Oh no, it's going to end with a Greek Hero expanded universe. Though technically the Greek were the first to engage with this shit.
Except you can't have a villian that seems Jewish or black or gay or transgender or have any other personality other then generic white man.
Technically we have Magneto for Jews and Ursula for trannies. In general the 90's killed homos as villains, while blacks are never allowed to be actual mastermind, only henchmen, which is kinda based.

At least Pocahontas gave us good memes. You can also make a good joke on Disney remaking the film in live action as age appropriate

I think they might leave Meg white or maybe make her middle eastern for this one, but add a stronk black Persephone instead

If they were smart they would just scrap all of the live action remakes they have in production.

Modern Disney is starting to look like the Disney of the dark ages after Walt Disney died with prioritizing these live action hoaxes, while disregarding the very thing that made them special.

I think they really need to pivot to a new character architect for their leading roles since everybody's picked up on the "quirky feminist archetype".

I say for music they can make some match some of their new one old ones, but just make sure whoever it is, they have a background in musical theater.

Also, ffs please try to do something with your animated TV series if you're so interested and rebooting stuff.

I would love a modern day take on the jungle cubs that focuses on the group of friends eventually growing up to the enemies.

Maybe a series dedicated to Oswald the rabbit?

Disney has billions of dollars, surely they can think of something

Many of the Disney starlets of the Disney channel make a lot even after leaving, because Men with a lot of money want to get with their crush from when they were teens.

Behavior like this is sort of a child star staple unfortunately.

Alyson Stoner ( another Disney channel alumni) talked about extensively how Disney more or less treats many of their stars like Japanese idols.

There's a lot of purity culture involved and most of these kids spend a lot of their formative years essentially acting like a caricature of what a real kid would act like.

Which more often than not leads to them doing the most extreme thing just to showcase how "mature" they are.

A similar thing with Miley Cyrus during her wigger era, and Vanessa Hudgens doing pornographic content after the second high School musical, Bella Throne also come to mind since she does that too.

You can even go further back to the 1950s, or even when child actors being into young adults they still had to act like they were kids for publicity sake which resulted in mental breakdowns or then offing themselves.

King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table would work. Tie it into Sword and the Stone if need be, same Merlin and Arthur. Jeff Bennett's still around to voice Merlin so people will have a familiar voice to lean on.
That’s being done by BBC’s “The Winter King”

Which was written by Bernard Cornwall (author of the Last kingdom series)

no Oliver and Company yet
They can cast Chuck Schumer as the villain since the villain is basically Chuck Schumer

Alyson couldn't be any more correct.

Further back than that. Watch the interviews Shirley Temple gave when she became an adult.

Yeah, there's a very good reason Disney never really does any reunions with most of these kids.

Defunctland did a brief history of the D. Channel talent, and he highlighted how Disney would make them do things like those 911 promos among other things.

For every Brenda Song or Zendya, there's an Orlando Brown and Lee Thomas Young.

Disney Channel was a mistake and indirectly led to Wish.

Yeah, Mary Anissa Jones is a famous victim of what Hollywood does to kids.
