Interesting statement from a man who with seller's remorse described the same Disney leadership as "white slavers". I'd love to see his detailed assessment as to how Disney's Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Willow are creations of magic.

Don't forget Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress and Joseph Campbell's The Hero with a Thousand Face. I was going to make a joke about how the only original thing he made was the prequels but then I remembered the pod racing scene was stolen shot for shot from a 60s racing movie. I'm having a hell of time finding the video, though.

What the fuck has happened to animation in the last 30 years? This shit looks worse than some cheaply made one season Adult Swim show from 2005! No wonder kids are watching anime, western animation blows.

They'll never be able to make another Mando season 1 type show. Mando season 1 from what I understand was basically just Favreau's personal project and the rest of Lucasfilm was more or less hands off. Once it was a massive success, everyone else wanted to stick their fingers into it and it morphed into the amorphous blob the "Mandoverse" is today. The corporate culture at the Rat simply won't allow for anything else.

Iger is spinning this proxy fight behind closed doors as a Trump takeover. Its also why Abigail Disney suddenly supported Iger. Lucas and Abigail Disney are the definition of limo liberals. They dont matter though the bulk of Disney is owned by big capital.

The instituional investors have signaled their support for Iger. Its over and has been over. Globohome is fine with Disney losing money to be a propaganda vehicle and they are the majority shareholders. They do care about its diminishing cultural influence and people not going to the movies. They would be fine with Disney+ and the movies not turning a profit if the cultural reach wasnt also diminishing.

Peltz knows this. Peltz does not care. He bought in at a dip. This proxy fight is making Disney stock pop by 20 points. He will sell for his firm at a tidy profit.
