First couple of episodes of X-Men '97 weren't too bad. I was always more of a Spider-Man guy back in the 90's, but apart from some lip flap stuff that's already been mentioned here it's one of the better action cartoons in recent memory.

What that says about current Western animation and its inability to create new iconic IP's I don't know, but this at least isn't a trainwreck like a lot of us were expecting. Yet, anyway...

Give it time
There are some divisive elements already, so it's not just taking the safe route. Spoilers for the first two episodes: Storm loses her powers (possibly for good), Rogue and Magneto seem to have a thing, another Jean turns up shortly after Nathan (Jean and Scott's son) is born. They might be doing the Madeline Pryor storyline.

TlDR/w: kang/major got trumped because he lost the civil case & now being sued for defemation say she a lier . By a technicality.
The defamation suit addresses Majors’ attempts to discredit Jabbari, reading, “When publicly confronted with Grace’s numerous allegations of abuse, Majors has called her a liar at every turn and very specifically claimed that he has never put his hands on a woman, with the goal of convincing the world that Grace is not a victim of domestic abuse but instead a crazy liar who should be treated as such.”

Bye George Floyd lookin mother fucker

So I rewatched Encanto and honestly, it's not that bad but the main character fucks up the entire film. At least the bitch does not talk during Surface Pressure but she wrecks Isabella's song. I feel they could have made Abuela just a mega cunt too and it would have made the film have a decent antagonist like Mother Goffel on steroids. The cousins aren't fleshed out enough either and the model for the fat black guy is vile.

Weird Dune part 2 being attacked for being too white, yet it had a more diverse cast than the Star Wars sequels. You can tell geek culture journalists are triggered by Dune 2 outperforming Disney's 2023 lineup.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=W76pkl0H8LQDisney loses lawsuit and ended up settling with Ron DeSantis.
How strange. So many in the media and performing monkey section of the legal profession were so certain that Disney would spank DeSantis harder than a Hollywood producer spanks a child actor. There's some good cope out there with the likes of the AP trying to pretend Disney didn't fail completely.

From https://flvoicenews.com/heres-a-rou...aring-desantis-failure-in-battle-with-disney/ .

Here are some of the top media headlines prematurely declaring DeSantis’ and Florida’s defeat and missteps over the past year.

DeSantis has had a good day just also winning an appeal reinstating an electoral map that gets rid of a black district.

Engage smug mode.

Disney haven’t outright fired anyone posting pro-Hamas shit on twitter like WB or other Hollywood companies did. Make of that as you will.

The Disney Adults at wdwmagic forums are in full COPE mode. Here are some quotes from said coping:
DeSantis should have chosen a different campaign strategy. Books will be written about what a poor choice he made in going after Disney. In fact, there are already some pretty lengthy analyses by political experts.
Agreed. Even if you wanted to base a campaign on an "anti-woke" strategy, Disney was the wrong target. Liberal or not, Disney is still beloved and Walt Disney World is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. It was just never going to end well for DeSantis.
Chatting with Miami/Tallahassee lobbyist & attorney.

The word up there is that this was entirely done so DeSantis wins on paper and saves face, while after all is said and done, Disney gets what they want: control (via a likely friendlier and more competent board)
-The Federal law suit was a loser. The precedent the judge used came from the 11th circuit court--yes the judge and case is in the 11th circuit. Rhetorical question, what are the odds the 11th circuit was going to overturn their own precedent?-

Disney has a very strong argument for why that precedent does not apply to this situation. The judge that dismissed the case was never going to rule in Disney‘s favor. But he’s been overturned before. And I predict that if CFTOD doesn’t give Disney everything they want then Judge Winsor will be overturned again.

Here’s an interesting video:
It talks about tobacco shops that existed in the U.S. Disney parks and tobacco policy in the parks thought the ages, as well as Disney’s general history with tobacco.

What I find crazy is that apparently the modern Disney corporation was publishing old photos of Walt Disney with the cigarettes he was holding edited out. That’s some Stalin type shit!
