At least they're not in complete denial while being out and proud groomer communists like Spacebattles is right now.The Disney Adults at wdwmagic forums are in full COPE mode. Here are some quotes from said coping:
Davies explained why Doctor Who’s Disney+ deal is vital to the beloved show’s future, revealing that he believes that its home network, the BBC, is “undoubtedly” nearing its end.
“I had already said in interviews that I think Doctor Who will have to become a co-pro, there’s no way the BBC is going to fund that,” Davies said. “You’ve also got to look in the long term at the end of the BBC, which is somehow, surely, undoubtedly on its way in some shape or form. What is Doctor Who going to do then? You have to prepare for that.”
It’s a Sin and Years and Years showrunner Davies has been a passionate supporter of the BBC for decades and a virulent critic of the Conservative government, often calling out the government for the way in which it has let BBC budgets flounder.
Oh my God, when will it end.
My guess is that it'll be mid at best. While they've stated previously they want to stick to "safer" projects I've little doubt they'll fuck it up the exact same way they fucked up the last few years. They think their problem is characters and plots not being recognizable enough going into theaters and that if they stick with things people know it'll reel them in, and to a certain degree they are correct; they'll sell more seats with this from recognition and hope alone than from a lesser known or cared for property like Black Adam or Marvels Girl Power Edition. How awful do you guys think that tis movie will be?
They're going to milk this shit for all it's worth. Even if it does fail, they will just wait a few years and reboot it.Oh my God, when will it end.
The travesty is that the ESG money was never free. It was money taken from taxpayers by compulsion and "redistributed" by government; and money provided by the general population as investments (inc pension schemes) to private fundholders for the purposes of maximising returns but misapplied for the political objectives of the fundholder. You and I have been funding this shit by a combination of compulsion and fraud. The real problem is that they don't recognize the era of free ESG money is sunsetting
Here's some shit I learned recently, Bob Iger is the same jew who used to be an exec at ABC... right around the time legendary show Twin Peaks was airing. As it turns out, this is the same kike who infamously fucked up the show by telling Lynch to wrap up the mystery early. How very, very telling.I highly doubt that as Bob Iger and Disney are going to play the waiting game until they get more favorable politicians into office and Florida's governorship. The real question is whether Iger and Disney will REE and how loudly over Florida trampling over the alphabet+ groomers.
I hate that this is a very real possibility but I think its also funny watching it crash because pedo has less charisma than mark ruffalo.Pedro Pascal
Hot diggidy look at that star lineup! We have nigger caaaap, wakanda nigger with tiiiits (but small, we don't want that mean ol male gaze), the waaaasp, captain flataaaaass, Paul Rudd being treated like a fucking joke and Spiderman!
I thought this shit was already dead 3 years ago.
It's dead now ESG money is gone in the UK. BBC doesn't have a budget current day - Dr. Who now.I thought this shit was already dead 3 years ago.
If I could break into the demiurge's reality temple I'd cast Christian Bale because he's the only one that could bring his own charisma into the role in a way that isn't just mimicing Johnny Depp.
-It is obvious to all that the mouse forced the state of Florida to capitulate on every point and forced them to win on almost everything they wanted. I don't blame Disney for settling because they needed to move on., but as far as what they were looking for in state court, they got a tiny portion. Sometimes you make the best of what you can get.-
Yes, it appears Disney got everything it needed for now thanks to the deposition threat. They'll figure out the rest later.
-The delay in the federal suit also makes it much more likely that DeSantis will be gone when the ruling is overturned and there won’t be any political willpower to take Disney on again.-
-I don’t think he has the political willpower to take Disney on now. Nor do I think he wants to. The reason no longer exists.-
Yeah, but a headline like “Disney deals crushing defeat to DeSantis in Supreme Court ruling” might be enough for him to rally the troops again. If Disney goes through all the trouble of a federal suit, I don’t think they want any chance at all that DeSantis and a compliant legislature will just pass another law.
But, to your point, I see it as politically challenging for DeSantis to pick another fight.
Even if we don't see RCID restored to its former form, I suspect we will see the following over the next three years:
- Disney slowly restarts its political donations and ramps up its lobbying efforts
- The legislature begins passing incremental changes to the CFTOD act, beginning in the 2027 legislative session. We may see some small changes before then, but it will ramp up in 2027.
- I wouldn't be surprised if we see protections put in place to prevent something like this from happening again.
- By 2030 Disney will have a district it's happy with, even if it's not RCID.
Is that an official poster? Because if so Cumberbatch's agent might be a real sorcerer to have gotten him out of it.
Davis acting as though Doctor Who should be handed over to Disney shows why his return is going to make things worse not better. Doctor Who is dead at this point, shoot it in the head and wait for a good time for another reboot. Instead his genius plan is to try to put it into the hands of a corporation slightly worse than the BBC.I love that this came out.
Those fucking people. After an hour there Biden would be voting Trump next election. At least they're not in complete denial while being out and proud groomer communists like Spacebattles is right now.
Financial documents out of the United Kingdom have revealed that "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" lost Disney over $130 million due to an explosive budget that included nearly $80 million in postproduction efforts.
...
Such documents revealed that Disney lost approximately $134.2 million after adjusting for budget, theater takings, and postproduction costs.
The aftereffects, which predominantly required a drastic de-aging of star Harrison Ford for a dramatic train chase scene, cost Disney approximately $79 million. This reportedly brought the budget to a monstrous total of $387.2 million.
Though the movie grossed about $384 million worldwide, the studio receives approximately half of theater earnings, which landed Disney at approximately $192 million.
What is seemingly a massive total is actually half of the movie's prequel, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." The 2023 adventure seemingly took in a similar dollar figure to the first three Indiana Jones movies from the 1980s but clearly loses when adjusted for inflation.
10 to 1 . It's foreign country rebabtes for film in their country. If it cost $382M and they netted $193M how the fuck did they only lose $130M. That looks a lot closer to a $195M loss (and this is ignoring marketing costs and points off the back end to anyone...well probably only HF).
They sure as shit didn't sell $65M in merchandise, and I doubt they recouped anything from streaming deals since it probably is only going on Disney's own. I guess they could've shifted that much over from profitable movies they had, but I can't think of one.
