The Tiki shit has been a source of discourse for a while now, but Voodoo? Really? Who give a fuck what actual voodoo people believe, they are fucking crazy. And in New Orleans, Voodoo is just a aesthetic to sell to tourists nobody really believes in that crap. I might care more about respecting Haitians when they stop eating each other. It's especially bizarre because at the end of the day, Dr. Facilier is just a character, he's not portrayed as some religious authority, he's basically just an evil magician. You could realistically put him in any setting and besides changing a couple of aesthetic he would fit in and function in the same way.
 
The rides have been going downhill for a while now, newer stuff like Frozen in EPCOT and that Na'vi boat ride in Animal Kingdom are boring and bad. The touches of genius in the older stuff are just plain gone, whether that's because the talent isn't there or they aren't getting enough of a budget to do better, or probably both.
 

So remember that in June that the Primos cartoon was supposed to be available...well according to LSMark it is possible that is either canceled or being redubed to be more ok. Also apparently two episodes have been leaked.

Entering the conversation late, but removing the cast of "Song of the South" is not a sign of being "woke." The characters are derived from African mythology and became known because early progressives aimed to showcase the cultural richness of the nation and its people. Conversely, Tiana was created by two white men and is portrayed as non-human for half of her film, and as a servant when she is Human.

The fact that no Disney Adult is pointing this out is wild and what's really sad is that they can easily fix this.

JUST FOCUS ON THE ANIMALS and remove the human elements and maybe get some black creative to retool it.

Thing is their newer rides are super popular and have long lines.

Rat ride has long lines and is popular. Guardians is popular. People seem to like Tron. Maelstrom was cool but Frozen is way more popular. Avatar is popular. River Journey is a fine B tier to soak capacity from Avatar. Rise of the Resistance is popular. Smugglers Run has hour plus lines usually.

Tianas is looking like their first potential flop. Even then cattle will ride it because they paid 150 bucks for Magic Kingdom tickets and fuck it we riding all the shit. Its gonna have over hour waits consistently.

The real test is who 6 months from now is going to pay for the lighning lane for it.

yeah as much as I disliked where the company went from.... fastpass or dining plan or so onward, they still put asses in the seats
 
Imagineers are probably ripping their hair out, knowing that their requests to make the experience more immersive and spend more time finalizing a proper story were all rejected by the higher-ups. The Imagineers almost deliberately sabotaged Magic Bands because they thought the idea was so dumb. They wanted to do a cool voodoo sequence!!! And no one let them! Fine, here's your human gumbo roleplay ride!

I have seen nothing beyond clips of Princess And The Frog, but holy shit you had a big flume plummet and dropped Friends On The Other Side Reprise for the buildup to the finale what in the literal fuck are you doing

She was originally a servant IIRC, but that was changed before release due to the backlash it got.

Still, what I meant is that the Brer characters were created by actual Black People while Tiana ironically wasn't.

I doubt this. The actual staff is in Universal now or retired. Their are videos of the team behind Tianas and its as dei infested as you can imagine. Doing less work means less effort from them and they will get asspats and are unfirable so why try?

It takes white or asian male autism to have attention to detail so that every 3rd bolt is micky mouse shaped and build a fully fleshed our original concept with its own canon and lore.

In that case, it sounds like they're purposefully shedding the work cultures that made them a success. First in animation then the parks.

Now, whatever faults the remake may have (and given the Rat's track record, they will be numerous), I was honestly touched by this little story here. Yeah, journoscum puff piece, I'm well aware, but Maia's excitement actually seems genuine. Still not watching it, and still feel contempt for everyone involved except her and Chris Sanders.

Who cares that makes decisions though? The majority shareholders arent holding disney to make money. They are doing it to control culture.

There is a reason the budgets for everything Disney does has ballooned so much. Its to loot 401k and pension money and give it to jews. If the company fails its not their money and they will move on to the next host.
