As far as I can find the christian kid in win or lose is some little blonde girl, not even a catholic brown or gospel black. Zamn.

Also I couldn't find any characters that look similar to the leaks of the cut trans storyline, so combined with the cut reveal so late into production I think that means that the character was completely disposable and only existed to be trans for that 1 episode and nothing else? Or was it just so generally irrelevant that it couldve been any of the characters without needing to edit anything except that 1 episode? In which case disney already knew they would maybe pull it

Yes, she is the Christian but she ain't the would have been trans. That episode hasn't come out yet. The not-tranny is actually black like the voice actor.

I am actually impressed with Disney at this point for somehow constantly outdoing themselves in the 'can we find an uglier black woman/person next time' challenge. I thought the Little Mermaid actress was ugly but damn, what a fivehead.

New trailer for the live-action Lilo & Stitch is out.
I really don't even want to look at this out of curiosity, Lilo and Stitch was one of my favourites of the early 2000s Disney (I related to Lilo a lot, I was the weird kid growing up who had family issues and just wanted a best friend). I've seen too many things ruined now to want to add more to the pile.

The actor looks like he has some kind of syndrome. Very empty stare.

But seriously, we all know why they planned it, but in what world would an episode about troons using bathrooms even resonate with any kids except a few groomed californians?

Especially when the regular dysphoria almost all kids in puberty go trough isnt commonly discussed as-is? Outside of periods getting their time in the spotlight ig. Troon kids could relate to that too. Being a tranny on the wrong team? Not such a 2 way street. But ig the pedos working on these shows dont wanna send kids the message that feeling some discomfort about your changing body is perfectly normal (and doesnt mean you should immediately try to chop your tits off) for reasons.

And for as much as ive seen disney shows and their ilk try to pull off 'serious' anti racism, anti facism, anti discrimination, whatever plotlines, I havent seen something anti-grooming in ages, despite the fact that almost every second zoomer with an internet connection has probably been groomed at this point according to themselves. Not even any dates turning out to secretly be evil or anything, bc romance had to either be dead entirely or be wholesome gay fluff. Teaching empty slacktivism is more important than stranger danger, ig.

Not that i think its super necessary, but if youre gonna sacrifice all of the entertainment value for 'serious messaging' at least make it good messaging...

I saw the trailer for lilo
HOLY FUCKING SHIT THEY RUINED NANI, MAI WAIFU IS FUCKING DESTROYED
Feels bad man, I had a massive crush on Nani and now all I can imagine is a white girl in brownface with shit hair.

Do u think on set Gadot and Zegler acted like completely normal coworkers with the tweets just being for the virtue signal or do u think they legitimately hated eachother over politics n whatever? I hope filming was as miserable as possible ngl

so....the day that I dreaded has finally arrived. and it is so much worse than I ever thought possible. I'm going to go bit by bit on why this filled me with an all consuming hatred.
1. the CG alien designs.

Kill them. Kill them with hellfire.

2.

...did this guy....SWEAR?! In Lilo and Stitch?!

3. The scene where Lilo meets Stitch. Mr. Inglebard's English class is now in session, because we're going to do a little compare and contrast.

Notice how, in the original, Stitch tries to blend in at first, but breaks character by reciprocating Lilo's greeting. Also notice Lilo's reaction: slight shock, followed by awe and wonder, because she's a weird kid, so it's not like she's going to be super-shocked by the fact that this apparent dog can talk. Now the remake:

Stitch tries way too hard at blending in. Panting, licking Lilo's face, the works. And Lilo.....screams?! Like any normal kid would upon seeing this creature?! Both of them are being completely antithetical to their characters here.

4. Who predicted that they would artificially darken Nani's actress' skin to placate the wokescolds?

Come collect your winnings.

5. The "ohana means family" scene. Again, let's compare and contrast.

Notice how, when Lilo says the line, Nani stops dead in her tracks and softens up quite a bit. By the end of the scene, things have noticeably cooled off. Now the remake:

"WE ARE NOT KEEPING THIS THING!" in comparison to the softer "we have to take him back!" of the original. Nani in general is much too aggressive here. And the scene ends with Stitch SLAMMING THE FREEZER DOOR IN HER FACE!
Lilo & Stitch was cruel as fuck, even though plenty of people love it to bits.
you want to talk about "mean-spirited"? THIS is mean-spirited!
Also,

WHERE IS THE MESS IN THEIR HOUSE?! THEIR HOUSE LOOKS SPOTLESS!
TL;DR:
Mr. Iger,

The Instagram stories where people like LMM talk about the behind the scenes of how current Disney movies are made is hilarious yet heartbreaking.

Apparently, the Disney songwriters and the animators are segregated and specifically, they tell him to not overshadow the animation because they want that to be the main selling point but on other occasions they will flat out have songs reworked if it's too hard to animate.

Alan Menken also commented that during Tangled he was specifically told to keep his mouth shut when it came to certain song decisions.

We might just be cooked for the remainder of the decade

Moreso than any live action Disney film so far, this one looks entirely unnecessary. It felt that at least most of the live action remakes so far we're trying to at least do *something* different, even if that something was never good. This is just Lilo and Stitch if it took place in the real world and everyone was bored.

That is the perfect description. Lilo is just a standard "quirky" 6 year old kid. None of the inner darkness/turmoil that made her what she was in the original. And Nani looks like she'd give anything to not be there. Not once in this trailer does she ever crack a smile, or express anything other than annoyance/anger.

Edit: Hell, even the SURFING has lost its potency.

the longer I think about this, the angrier I get.

I am not even going to bother with this, the original had such a special place in my memories that I think watching this could risk tainting them. Though I guess if I rewatch the original and then this, I could always experience the authentic anger had by other people with a remake of their favorites

TL;DR:
Mr. Iger,
You forgot;

From the brief clips rather than Myrtle being caught in storm Lilo it looks like she deliberately pushes her during the dancing. Because can't have the protagonist being a shit to others, she has to be the one being bullied. Also she looks about 3 years older than Lilo because...I don't know, Disney channel original moves do it a lot?
The thing that has replaced Cobra Bubbles. Who appears to be hunting Stitch now, presumably because one of the best characters in the movie must be destroyed the most.
"I don't think you're apposed to drink that." Lilo had her vocabulary problems but she wasn't three!
And of course our sweet sun-burned tourist who just wanted his ice cream looks nothing like he once was.

Lilo and Stitch is a masterpiece, one of the last traditionally hand drawn movies Disney created, even the backgrounds were watercolor paintings. It is among my top ten animated movies of all time because of how much heart there is to its story and creation. I won't be watching a single second of this live action remake, even if it is the "least" offensive in their repertoire of live action adaptations, its very existence is cynical and a reminder of how all good things come to an end. You cannot recreate what made the original film special with an imitation because the original was a creation of its time and of the very talented people that crafted it into existence.

What's most depressing is that this will probably turn up a profit because of 'memberberries normalfags inability to not consume product.

As someone who has never seen Lilo and Stitch, that trailer does absolutely nothing at all for me. It certainly doesn't look good.

With not knowing the original, no attachment or anything. Here's an opinion that I'm sure people will disagree with and one for which I have no solution. The character being a literally cartoon character in the live action setting doesn't work for me. It's like a Pixar character put in live action and not realistic at all. I know it's an alien. If one were making this film without the animated version a head of time. The character would never be done that way.
