I thought Frozen 3 had already been greenlit ages ago, given how massive of a merchandising juggernaut that series was.

Looked it up, and sure enough, currently penciled in for a November 2027 release. And Iger said a couple years ago that Frozen 4 is also in production.

Jesus Christ, make it stop.
Damn forgot that one seriously 4 frozens? It's been almost 14 years. The little brats who wouldn't stop singing let it go when they were 5 will be old enough to vote soon.

Sorry, the first Frozen made a bajillion dollars in tickets and merch sales, so now we need to squeeze as much out of that cow as we can.

Well the villians are the ancestors of the guy who the city of zootopia sees as a hero for founding the city only to discover he was really a scumbag backstabber and guilty of murder.

That revisionist enough for you?

the only only other time I can remember disney doing something similar was the mewni pendance episode of star vs. Where star learns her planets national holiday isn't all she thought it was....and her ancestors may have caused a genocide to become rulers of her home world mewni.
The revisionism might be eviler than general diversity. At least with an oppression story you can interpret it to multiple times in the past. Revisionism is a "your grandpa was racist so you must suffer for it", there is no applicability to the past, just brainwash.

I don't particularly like or hate Zootopia, but I do think it's an interesting example of how the concept of a message has completely changed in film over an incredibly short period of time.

Zootopia (2016) is not literal. It makes a general point using animals for entertainment. If anything it clearly went out of its way to make sure no one was meant to be a one for one representation of a group.

But now everything must be extremely on the nose, literal, and reflect the total lack of nuance people see real life through, so people watch it and cry because the bigger conflict is people not trusting predators so obviously the predators must be the stand in for black people and that means they're saying black people are predators and not perfectly innocent angels being hurt all the time by the evil prey (who must be white people because that's how it works).

Then people get mad and have big Internet arguments over the movie for something it never said and clearly never implied.

I don't know what's up with the new one (not watching it) and I'm not talking about the people on here. This is just something I've observed in other places online.

Also imagine a movie now ever making a point that being bullied as a kid shouldn't bother you as an adult and said bigoted childhood bully might even grow and become a positive contributor to your life.

Wasn’t the plot of Frozen 2 also about revisionism - something to do with the dam?

It’s been a few years since I’ve seen it, but yeah. The dam was supposed to be a symbol of peace between the tribe and kingdom of Arendelle or something, but it was actually a ploy and Elsa/Anna’s ancestor murdered the tribe’s leader while his back was turned.

They eventually stopped, although I don’t know of anyone who cares about the Frozen sequels. Maybe if the second one wasn’t released long after the first one was, it wouldn’t have been ignored. Especially since most kids outgrow Disney princess movies fast.

Infamous strand type game director and female employee foot curator Hideo Kojima has been given a role in the Japanese dub of Zootopia 2. Reportedly he will voice a mole in the police department (policenauts reference)

Kojima is an overrated blow hard. Why didn't they ask him to voice one of the lynxes? Not an ocelot I know, but close enough for me.

I'm still amused they got Micheal J. Fox for this.

A lot of people thought that supposed to Gideon from the first one. I know it's been almost a decade but did they seriously forget he spoke with a country accent? And wasn't a criminal anymore?
The mole barely haves one or two lines. Each of the lynxes talked more than the mole.
Didn't the one voiced by Macaulay culkin....yes KEVIN from home alone, have the least amount of lines outta the pawbert family?

Sad they didn't have room for Gideon, let alone a quick moment in Bunnyburrow, this film just didn't have time for reacquaintance besides those who managed to get screentime during the action (like Bogo, Benjamin, Flash or Bellwether).

Just feels like a paycheck to those who even showed up at all.

watching random Christmas shit this came up
one of the few bits of footage of the very obscure Fort Wilderness railroad

once upon a time my dad discovered there was abandoned railroad tracks in Fort Wilderness by realizing our camper was just like, ten feet out the back of the bus stop instead of walking all the way out and up and around
it went a little something like this
>argh fuck there's a giant fucking ditch what the fuck
>ugh why the hell are there damn railroad tracks here
>argh what the fuck another ditch

In March of 2026, guest will be able to meet Bluey and Bingo at a location of the park that no one goes to and when I say guest, I mean grown Bluey adults with no kids of their own who won't grow the fuck up.
