It'll flop. Alice 2 was a flop, and the first Maleficent was ripped to shreds after the hype wore down. Plus, with how busy Disney's schedule is this year, a lot of movies are gonna flop. I think only Frozen and Avengers will take the money home this year.

I personally enjoyed the live action remake of Beauty and the Beast, but I agree that Emma Watson was a -terrible- choice for Belle. And they allowed her to have creative control for that part?! I heard it was over Belle's signature dress, but was there more to that?
Shes also the reason Belle is for lack of better words is a twit. They make Belle the inventor instead of Maurice because god forbid his daughter takes after his work but he's reduced to making music boxes to make her look "strong". I imagine shes also the reason the beast has little agency in his own movie as instead of him having sympathy from the beginning takes her to a better room its lumier instead.

So with Maleficent 2 coming out this year, that means we're be getting 4 live action Disney remakes this year. Dumbo, Aladdin, The Lion King, and now this. At this rate it'll probably be 2028 when we get the live action Frozen remake.

I'm sure those four will make money. Too much nostalgia there to totally tank at the box office. I have doubts about the quality, though. Beauty and the Beast was rough for me, save for whenever Gaston is around - he's the real highlight of the movie there.

Shifting gears a bit, a new Defunctland episode was released on the ride that was the predecessor to Splash Mountain, itself based on the Tales of Uncle Remus by Joel Chandler Harris, of which Disney made a movie out of. I love this guy's videos!

Disney finally ruined Star Wars for me, something not even George Lucas and his shitass prequels managed to do.
I also can't stand all this souless 3D animation shit they keep putting out every 2-3 months (at least that what it feels like) because it pretty much killed classic 2D animation.
I do have a soft spot for the old cartoons they released pre and post WWII.

I don't know. I think Disney is banking on millenial parents taking their kids to go see the remakes out of nostalgia but people generally seem pissed about Aladdin. I think the novelty of remaking everything is wearing off.

The only remake I'm interested in is Mulan, which looks promising unless the movie somehow adds a boring five minute dialogue between her and Mushu about gender identity struggles. Given new Disney I'd give it about a 50/50 chance of happening.

I saw this video and thought of this thread. This goes on about Disneybounding, but includes other information about the Disneybounding fandom and how much money it generates per year. Unsurprisingly, the people who are really big fans of this live very close to either Disneyland or Disneyworld and devote most of their lives to Disney.

"I met my boyfriend because he was a Disney cosplayer" is like a hot minute away from "why does my boyfriend keep going to pride parades?"

these fat wastes are all over the parks, they are nearly as obnoxious as the scooterwhales and packs of Brazilians. And they probably won't be banning them any time soon -- these are the freaks that buy up all the newest and most overpriced of merchandise.

That'd be the passholes. Everyone who isn't them hates them because they have the pathological need to shove it in everyone's face that they LOVE DISNEY SO MUCH AND GO TO THE PARKS ALL THE TIME.

One example I keep hearing about is imagine going on the elevator to the Haunted Mansion and some fat womanchild is loudly saying every word to that stretching room segment. Some people get autistically angry about that but it's obnoxious and meant to signal to the normie plebs that they're "experts" who have been on the ride hundreds of times.

It's still gonna be a shot-for-shot remake of the original film, only with ugly effects and bland actors and some woke message as the new original content, much like the Beauty and the Beast remake. Just stay with the original.
