Well to be fair, Penny was more the hero of the original show than Gadget was, so it would actually be closer to the source material.

True, but the movie will probably avoid portraying her as the incredibly humble and loving niece that she was in the cartoon who only wanted to help her uncle. I can already see her acting smug and annoyed at every turn while angry that her uncle gets all the credit... Hopefully I'm wrong and Disney actually finds some competent people to make a wholesome ode to the original series that proves to be far better than their first awful attempt at an Inspector Gadget movie. But that's asking for too much in modern Hollywood.

Although if it were up to me, I would love to see a Japanese anime remake of Inspector Gadget by Kazuyoshi Katayama.

I’m suddenly reminded of this.

Which country is this originally from? Italy? Sweden? Holland?

EDIT: It’s from Italy. They have gone in a lot of directions American Disney would never go...
Yeah Disney comics get weird in Europe. Like Papernik or that time Mickey had a Go Nagai style robot or that time he was in an alley with a baseball bat looking menacing.

I am strangely intrigued and will have to see if I can hunt that one down.

I was told told it was good but its pretty meh, still better than modern Disney I guess. Unlike the original, the monsters are the good guys. If you want to read it, its available online but in italian if you still want it.

I'm also still pissed that we never got to see the 2D animation of Frozen that was done before they said "fuck 2D". Lasseter said it was the best animation he had ever seen, so why wasn't it released to the public to show it off?

The production sketches looked so good (the one of the snow queen with like that Russian hat and royal garb that was done in blue pen looked fucking amazing) but we had to make everything white and generic af.

P sure Kristoff is a gay bear tho.

Lasseter has always been a creep. Miyazaki always looked annoyed in pictures of them together

It pisses me off watching Tangled because the production sketches during the end credits looked so much better than the 3D shit.

They really shouldn't have shut down the hand drawn animation department. Big mistake.

And their excuse is that PATF flopped.

The person who did the end credits art also did the credits art for Big Hero 6. Also worked on Zootopia and Frozen.
