Disney makes “live-action” versions of their movies which are basically shot-for-shot remakes of their original movies with a lack of integrity and originality: “wHy cAn’T dIsNeY dO aNyThInG oRiGiNaL fOr OnCe!!!!1!1!1!11”

Disney makes a live action version of their movie that can stand on it’s own and is more related to the original story even if they must sacrifice characters from the animated version: “EWWWWW, wHy IsN’T iT lIkE tHe aNiMaTeD vErSiOn!!!!!!11!1!11”

I swear, you can’t even please these spergs. At least let them try something a tad bit more original than their other stuff for once.

EDIT: Oh, my fuck. Didn’t realize the first one isn’t a complaint from the common Facebook mom Disney sperg. They usually eat those remakes up like candy. Oh well.

I love it. Idgaf

Rumor is they changed Shang to erase the bisexual tension (I'm not making this up) because China is massively anti-lgbtq and well.....guess what movie they want to do well in CHINA.
Unpopular opinion but while I do want to ignore live action remakes (not watching Little Mermaid and The Lion King unless someone invites me, for example), I'm genuinely more interested in watching the movie now because I'm quite a sucker for pre-gun powder war movies and judging from the teaser they want to go with a very different tone from the original.

I'm super curious and I'd like to see all the merchandise. Personally would love a Mulan version of their Legacy Collection soundtracks but they didn't do one for Aladdin so I doubt we will get one for Mulan. Also the dolls will look x20 better than Hermione!Belle because that doll looks like she's trying to pass a kidney stone.

Be honest here: do you really think that audiences would still care about this movie, and would have as many people waiting to see it now, if it wasn't called "Mulan"? Or even if they titled it "Mulan: The Legend Reborn"? Even if both movies were completely identical and had no changes made to either version, aside from their titles being different.

Changing a character's race isn't trying something original, it's blatant pandering. Same thing when they try to shoehorn feminism where it doesn't belong. It's just lazy.

And guess what? The Disney spergs and shills hate it. lol. Fuck them.

These people can't be pleased. You make the story shot by shot, they get pissed because the movie is "useless" and "inferior". You change everything and they complain that it's nothing like the "original".

Anyways, fans were "cheering" that Disney actually cast an "Asian/Chinese" actress to play Mulan. And they were so happy that no "blonde hair blue eyed Becky" was cast.

A while back on some fansite, Disney spergs had a meltdown when I showed them a picture of this apparent Uyghur boy and jokingly asked if he could be in the movie because he is from China after all lol.

They were never Original.

Its a realy realy bad move. Black people have no money, and hinder sales in asia and eastern europe.

The original Mulan was also played by a Chinese actress. What's the big deal?

Cross post from the SJW thread, I guess. Jon Del Laroz posted this on shitter, and I'm making some popcorn, because I expect the IdPol faggots to produce mass salt over it. It'll be especially funny when they rage about Del Laroz posting it, because he's pretty clearly some kind of wetback.

That looks boring as fuck. They could have at least tried to give it a little bit of the Disney magic, Jesus. If I wanted to watch a generic Wuxia film, I'd watch the 2009 version from China.

This made my night.

So if what I'm hearing is true, this movie will have:
-No songs.
-No Shang.
-No spirit mentor voiced by Eddie Murphy.

But what it will have instead is... what, exactly? More character development? More action scenes? Is that necessary to tell the story about a girl who defied all societal expectations (and broke the law) and joined an army to protect her father and her country? Because if the answer's no then the only reason I can see for this movie to exist is for Disney to re-tread their old franchises for a quick and easy profi-oh wait, that's right.

God I miss old movies that were full of color and music and told simple stories but told them very well so you'd remember them for years to come. When did movies become as bleak and bankrupt as the reality I'm trying to escape from for a few minutes?

Fun is problematic. You have to feel ashamed for any sort of privilege you have and there’s nothing you can do to make up for it.

Hollywood's taking less and less risks, and so now we get movies like the Disney remakes, which are essentially extremely cynical moneymakers banking on the idea that you ate it up once, you'll eat it up regurgitated again with something slightly different to put a bare minimal effort towards making something new.

And thus the bleak, bankrupt average film in this day and age.

Oh, yes, and people are going to see them thus encouraging them to make more. A good part of the blame lies on the consumer. If you go to see crap they will think you want crap.

While sacrificing integrity of the original and destroying our childhood memory.

Sad...so sad.....
