Disney makes “live-action” versions of their movies which are basically shot-for-shot remakes of their original movies with a lack of integrity and originality: “wHy cAn’T dIsNeY dO aNyThInG oRiGiNaL fOr OnCe!!!!1!1!1!11”

Disney makes a live action version of their movie that can stand on it’s own and is more related to the original story even if they must sacrifice characters from the animated version: “EWWWWW, wHy IsN’T iT lIkE tHe aNiMaTeD vErSiOn!!!!!!11!1!11”
I think these people just don't want live action versions of the animated classics, period.

I love it. Idgaf

Rumor is they changed Shang to erase the bisexual tension (I'm not making this up) because China is massively anti-lgbtq and well.....guess what movie they want to do well in CHINA.
The animated version didn't do so well over there. The Chinese government was pissed at Disney at the time, so they waited a year before bringing it over. This allowed more than enough time for it to be widely distributed via piracy, and then when it was released officially they chose a lousy release date on purpose. And on top of all of that the Chinese apparently weren't impressed because it was too different from the source material anyways.

So all things considered it's not surprising they're working directly with China this time since they have the world's biggest market for movies. Something every major movie studio wants a piece of whenever possible.

just saw this on /pol/ and was gonna post it here
but you beat me, hehe

that being said, this video is damn crazy. The Disney security are damn scared and hanging back
the black guys hit each other and also hit their black chick friends/moms/girlfriends or whatever
they are all over the place, its a great video

The Mulan trailer actually looks kind of okay.

I guess since the story is a war movie, it translates better to live action.

At least it doesn't look like it is a shameless play at nostalgia, so I'll give it that.

Maleficent might be the worst of the live action remakes they've done.

Unlike most of the others (which shamelessly rehash the original film), this one tried to be different but did so by straight up shitting on the original. It felt like it was bad Maleficent fan fiction that somehow got a budget and made into a film. She is super smart, super awesome, the good guy and the bad guy, and everyone else is an idiot. The fairies got straight up disrespected, King Stefan is an asshole, and the Prince is a useless idiot.

Horrible, and the fact that it is getting a sequel makes me feel sick inside.

I'm really surprised at how little security does. From what I've seen at the Florida parks they're on shit like Agents from the Matrix.

maybe it was because of the race of the agressors , prolly didn't want to get sued for discrimination or some shit
Also the Cali parks have Californians for staff. That's not the same sort of fellow as a Florida Man who would bravely wade through ten Brazillian tour groups to try to save a life.

Changing a character's race isn't trying something original, it's blatant pandering. Same thing when they try to shoehorn feminism where it doesn't belong. It's just lazy.
I think the worst thing about stunts like the Black Ariel announcement is how transparently cynical of a publicity stunt it is. Their live action remakes, being the soulless cash grabs that they are, haven’t been well received by anyone, Disney is aware that they aren’t being well received, so what do they do? Cast a black chick to get some free publicity and win some bonus #WOKE points to deflect criticism with when the remake inevitably sucks because people will take the bait hook, line and sinker.

They make tons of money even though they suck.

Most people who want the Rat to do something original mean something original, as in not a remake, not a reboot, not a sequel, but a 100% new property based on a new legend/fairytale/myth/whatever.

The contrast with that fight and the cartoon stuff in the background is hilarious.
When the woman off camera is calling the police and she is struggling to report the location of the brawl and finally settles for "Disneyland, Toontown, in front of Goofy's Playhouse" :story:
