"Diverse" works that aren't woke - when diversity does not fuck a movie/game/book/show up

Dragon Ball.

Lots of different cultures (east asian, south asian, native american etc.) and characters with various skin tones & personalities.

Everyone who calls Toriyama a racist because he depicts black people with big lips (also it was the 80s!) is a fucking retard. He treats them like characters. Even his depiction of an african man in stereotypical african clothing is still positive.

Apparently this picture made wokists sperg out on Xitter. But it's not racist at all. Just because his clothes are stereotypical doesn't mean his design is based on hate. Let's change the perspective: Toriyama didn't depict a dumb black monkey man sitting in a tree. It's an african man in traditional african clothes sitting in a tree and watching TV. He knows how to use technology and he understands and is interested in what's going on in the world. This one single frame is telling us a lot about the character but all wokists see is "african stereotype". What a sick mindset these people have.

Also it's not the only character wearing stereotypical clothes.

South asians didn't complain and I doubt even africans ever complained. It's only a certain group of always offended melanated bastards & their dumb white bootlickers in Burgerland.

Tl;dr Dragon Ball is very diverse & wokists are worthless
It reminds me a lot of how The Simpsons has been criticized for how it portrayed Asians. Who can forget the “Osaka Flu.”
And first off yeah it’s not to be taken seriously it’s a cartoon after all. But most of all the Simpsons stereotyped basically all cultures and people. I’ve even heard that Australians got mad over how they were mocked in the Australia episode so it’s not just a racial thing people are generally thin skinned.

There's a lot of that modern representation shit in the new Dungeons & Dragons movie but that one didn't feel woke at all.
Felt like an old school fantasy movie made with modern tech, you can see the filmmakers liked the source material.
If you think about it, Fast&Furious might be the most diverse movie franchise of all time when it comes to representation but they never marketed those movies like that and that's not what they're about, they're just pure over the top stupid and they know it.
Tom Cruise movies aren't woke definitely.
Just forget most of these "nerdy" franchises like Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Star Trek etc. those are long gone and they're not coming back, they will get good again when they will enter public domain and talented people will get access to them (which is happening really soon for Batman and Superman).

Heard nothing but good things about it.

Nah, when they enter the public domain, they'll just all become edgy grimdark horror stories and attract people with no creativity or imagination.

Remember: Steamboat Willie entering the public domain didn't necessarily mean that Mickey Mouse did.

The Mad Doctor had already been in the public domain for the longest time, and that didn't mean that Mickey Mouse was.

Same is also true for Bugs Bunny, if I'm not so mistaken.

There's already a terrible Bambi horror movie coming out. Based on the book so Disney can't sue. It just screams "I couldn't sell my generic monster in the woods movie so I added Bambi to get a pay day". Bambi the Revenge or something like that. Pretty much the plot of Cujo but with an evil deer instead of a rabid dog.

Cowboy Bebop. I wanted to kneejerk call it woke the first time I watched it but I couldnt find any actual marxism like in Arcane so I didnt.
But it does have a gay sex scene, it has a ton of brown people being tv presenters, entrepreneurs and shit, it has a lot of globalist themes, it had the tranny shit and the gay prison planet. I think Shinichiro Watanabe is one of those westaboos like Kojima, Miyazaki and the Afro Samurai guy who likes all the libshit but isnt an actual marxist like Miyazaki. Could also explain his obsession with black people music.

Resident Alien. The first two seasons had a Muslim girl who was the best friend of the boy who can see the aliens true forms (she's gone in this current season though, not sure why, maybe she didn't want to be in a TV show anymore or something, so she was written out as 'moving away'), but she was just another kid on the show. No constant mentions of being Muslim, Muslim culture etc, just....an actual character with her own personality and not token. Same goes for all the other minorities in the show, they are actually individuals rather than just shoehorned in for diversity. Plus there isn't a lot of them, which makes sense for a small town, the majority cast is still white.

Dude, Dishonored 2 goes out of its fucking way to make sure you know that capitalism is bad, and it reminds you of that every fucking time you use the heart item, because all of its lines are essentially "capitalism bad, we needs socialism".
I liked how there wasn't a massive deal made about being able to play as Emily, and she didn't strike me as some kind of infallible girlboss, though it has been some time since I've played.
The thing I didn't like was how Corvo's powers were inherently superior to Emily's, and she got cucked out of having a cool mask. Like what the fuck? Dishonored is the cool mask game, give her a fucking cool mask.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but the first few seasons of Brooklyn 99 fit the bill in my opinion. The cast is pretty diverse, but their characters go way beyond being black or gay. Like, I could tell you a number of things about Holt or Terry that have nothing to do with their race or sexuality.

Sure, the show always had woke undertones (for example, every straight white guy is a wimp, an asshole or an idiot (Jake doesn't really count since they really harp on about him being a Jew), the criminals are unrealistically diverse, etc.), but the wokeness didn't really become blatant until a few seasons in. The last season especially I found literally unwatchable, as in I could not watch it and skipped straight to the finale.

Behold, a middle school crime drama with an upstanding principled black protagonist who wants to make up his past actions as a delinquent when someone gave him a chance. He also has a goth girl as his partner and a commissioner named Vallejo.

Talk To Me
Australian horror movie, teens fuck around with a spoopy thing, bad times ensue
Lead is a black gal, dad married into a white family, even had an emby but it's immediately dismissed that he's a tryhard dipshit and it's never really made a big deal out of

The Twisted Metal TV Show. Negro protagonist that is actually funny and enjoyable to watch, really, Anthony Mackie did a great performance; Strong Hispanic woman sidekick played by a faggot actress, which the show actually makes her NOT a Mary Sue, with a great character development and the relation she builts with Mackie's character feels natural. There's also the wo-fag couple but that literally is only shown for a feel small seconds on screen in the final episode, so i just ignored. For me the show was a solid 9/10, and that was only season 1, which served as a prologue for the upcoming season 2 which is the one that actually will adapt the game's premise, plot and the universe characters that aren't Sweet Tooth and John Doe.

The Suicide Squad (2021, the one with John Cena) is really good. It has a black protagonist who has a character arc and doesn't stop the movie to preach about racial hot button issues. The sequel/spin-off series Peacemaker has no shortage of cringey woke moments, but it's pretty solid and even charming at times.

Speaking of Watanabe, Samurai Champloo is one of my favourite anime of all time. Its soundtrack is mostly hiphop which is black people music, it had an episode featuring a gay foreigner in a positive light, one of the best fighters in that series was a blind woman, Mugen himself isn't Japanese, blah blah... Kino anime, but I recommend you skip episode 5, read the plot description on Wikipedia if you want to know why. And to be clear Fuu is 15. I don't understand why they had to do that episode but it is what it is.

I generally agree, but it is a shame Peacemaker didn't try recruiting his ultraracist dad to fight the literal alien invaders.
They managed to make a gay Black woman of size a likeable deutagonist without any suedom
Also, Iwuji/Munn would have sounded a lot better using his British accent than the male Amanda Waller impression he did instead.
