Do any Kiwis watch Lets Players and have any Kiwis watched a Lets Play to completion? - Do any Kiwis watch Lets Players and have any Kiwis watched a Lets Play to completion?

The only one I can recall is Giant Bomb's "Endurance Run" of Persona 4. Arguably the video that made the games mainstream.

While the dungeon crawling episodes are kind of dull the rest of it was great. I don't know if it holds up since I've not gone back to it.

I was a big fan of TBFP for a while, haven't watched many of their videos in a while but I still go back and rewatch some of the classics.

I enjoyed GameGrumps when JonTron was still on it, Sonic 06 is a classic one.

Vinesauce Joel is good but I can't watch his videos for long

Only Neebs Gaming since they made Battlefield Friends and Prostitute Mickey/Stupid Witcher Horse.

Turns out they're actually pretty funny, but they tend to be LARPing their own scripts lately so it's less invigorating.

Back when Pewdiepie was starting out I finished many of his Lets plays like Ai Oni, To the Moon, The Walking Dead season 1, etc. Was looking forward to Season 3 :'(

I watched some of AttackingTucans and JoshJepson’s Versus playthroughs as well.

Lately I have been watching Vinesauce’s Lets plays, especially Vargskelethor because I find him particularly entertaining. I watched his Majoras Mask playthrough and a few other ones.

I don't watch them regularly anymore, but I used to watch stuff from MikeNnemonic, ChipCheezum, TheStrawhatNO! and Pawdugan.

I'm still waiting for Proton Jon to continue his Superman 64 let's play... it's been over a year.

I've 'watched' a couple of Let's Plays from Stop Skeletons From Fighting / Stop Skeletons From Streaming on youtube, they're bridging the gap between longplays and letsplays from what I've seen, playing competently while taking about what the game is. It's a tiny channel but the guy and the gal makes a good couple, he knows the deep lore of the game/development and she asks questions around that, it's a pretty good setup. Through them I know what Dreamcast survival horror game Illbleed was all about and they did a good job of showing off everything in that game

They're the boring kind I like.

Oneyplays is my jam, I've watched their kingdom hearts lets play at least 4 times. I miss Ding Dong and Julian, I think the three of them had an incredible dynamic and I've never seen it matched.
The new guys Chris brings on are fine, I liked their Heart of Darkness episodes

Markiplier, Chuggaaconroy, Jethrotex, PurpleRodri, and some of ProtonJon, NintendoCapriSun, Pewdiepie, and Game Grumps (and I may be forgetting a couple more). Let's plays of horror and Pokémon games are what I look for the most willingly but I'll watch whatever catches my eye. But more often than not, I have the videos as white noise while I draw.

Used to watch a bit of Cryaotic's Cry Plays or whatever, but honestly, his voice makes me feel uncomfortable.

I used to watch a lot of let's players. Lost interest just before they ran off to twitch.

Chip cheezum's stuff i still follow every now and then. I try to be up to date with his MGSV pt. Guy does his homework and just in general puts a lot of thought into his non-stream videos.

I've seen a few here mention HCBailly. His videos from what i remember were very informative. I used to be a huge fan of him. But once i actually participated in his community, i got very disillusioned. Can't fucking stand him anymore. I saw 1 episode of his Mega Man Battle Network lp and just quit out of that shit. He kept pausing the game to keep up with his enemies. I love that game series, so that was unbearable to watch. Roahm Mythril did it far better, if you ignore him being a gay dragon

Speaking of Chuggaaconroy, he briefly glitched @Null into Earthbound in his recent tent glitch episode.

Never watched one all the way through because autism, but I will often partially watch Lets Plays of specific games I'm interested in to see if they look any good.
That's how I ended up with Viscera Cleanup Detail... ahhhhh, relaxing!

I recently watched the entirety of SuperGreatFriend's LP of Deadly Premonition.
I checked this Let's Play out from @wagglyplacebo 's recommendation and I agree, it was a really good and informative LP that I enjoyed a lot. There are other decent Let's Plays by Something Awful based people found in the Let's Play Archive as well like Nine-Gear Crow's Let's Play of Ace Combat Zero and Belgaer's Red Dead Redemption 1. Nine Gear Crow's Ace Combat Zero LP is imho mostly impressive due to the insane amount of story analysis and exposition he put into the post accompanying each update(preserved in the lparchive), the videos themselves weren't so hugely interesting to me as a non-Ace Combat fan but the writeups, milporn fapfics about the planes and the political analysis of the events in Strangereal (Ace Combat setting's alternate Earth) were the reasons I kept watching the LP and reading the updates. Without the accompanying writeups to each video I probably wouldn't have kept watching since to a non-Ace combat player the gameplay doesn't look super engaging when watched passively. Probably because if I don't play it myself I miss all the gameplay's intricacies that would come off better if you actually played the game. But I digress.

I used to love Chip&Ironicus Let's Plays, particularly the MGS ones and the 50 Cent Blood On the Sand and Killer7 Let's Plays but lost interest around the time he was doing The Wonderful 101 and never looked back. Is he still teamed up with that aggravating dicksuck General Ironicus ? Sometimes the banter between Chip and Ironicus was good and produced synergy but a lot of the times when Ironicus filled ANY role in the LP except asking questions from Chip he just didn't know when the fucking shut up and his jokes had an annoyingly long setup and took up way too long out of episodes' runtimes with very little payoff. To me Ironicus was nothing more than a necessary evil for Chip to bounce jokes off of and was otherwise a weight dragging Chip down.

Yeah, he's still around and has gotten worse to the point I can't watch them anymore. Super great friend is probably the only guy I still check out once in awhile, his let's plays have gotten less effort put in them but he's still way more informative than most others. I think it's cause he's got a big boy job now or something.

Back in the 2006-7 timeframe I'd watch AVGN and kept doing so off/on until the Cheetahmen scandal.

I like to watch ClementJ64's Mega Man let's plays, because they are very informative. Plus he is actually good at these games.

Super Game Friends did a playthrough of Hatsune Miku Project Diva. They fumble around a lot, but they generally have a lot of charm and when they fuck up, they admit it and try to go back and replay songs. That being said, they usually just do some commentary of how to improve the game, what they honestly liked and what they hated.

Those guys playing the start of Deadly Premonition convinced me to buy the game. Which is almost embarrassing to say considering the travesty that site turned into.

I used to watch lots of Game Grumps and Oney Plays, especially as background noise while working\drawing, but lately I'm not that much into them. Then there's also Maximilian Dood going through the arcade modes of various fighting games, those can be fun too. Oh, and of course the occasional TIHYDPs featuring Black DSP and White LTG.
