It goes back to how badly Europe got their asses kicked by two successive world wars. You have the countries that reshaped all of human history basically getting their dicks kicked back to their own continents, and by 1970, basically the only two countries on the planet that mattered were the USSR and the USA. The USA and USSR carved up all the European imperial holdings between us and either made them satellite states or plunged them them into permanent chaos. Think about it, not only could the British not stop us from backing the African destruction of Rhodesia, we even made them worship us for how many of their own kin our pets killed.

Going from ruling the planet to being big fat zeroes in a single generation absolutely wrecked the European consciousness. Europeans are insanely jealous of the USA, and since WWII proved they can't out-manufacture, out-fight, out-invent, all they can come up with is trying to out-shitlib us. So they're sterilizing themselves harder than we do. They're importing niggers faster than we do. Weakening their fighting forces more pathetically than ours. Censoring their populations more aggressively than ours. All because they hope that, some day, if they can just become elderly, dying, homosexual, thought-controlled minorities in their own countries, American Ivy League faculties will give them some kind of Global Faggot Award.

I would say this is mainly true of France and Germany. Indeed, they both sabotaged world politics when Sarkozy and Merkel both refused to accept Georgia into NATO in 2008 just before it was invaded by Russian marauders. They did it only because it was USA's and Poland's initiative. Their Russophilia is also undoubtedly fuelled by contrarianism to US interests. I am sure if USA declared that 2 + 2 is 4, the French and the Germans would proudly proclaim that 2 + 2 is actually 5, just to spite US Americans. You warn us against Russia? Fuck you, we will supply 50% of our gas needs with Gazprom. Take that, stinky Amerilar-- oh, shit... our gas is gone.



Otherwise, countries like Poland or Norway very happily follow US interests. Norway is pretty much just a NATO filling station at this point. Most people don't care either, they just consume the latest product and get excited for the next one. Compared to the alternative that France and Germany exhibit, I think this is a vastly better course of action, even if it just as depressing.

The problem that is in EU in particular is that while there are lots of great coders and businessmen, the legal hurdles for operating these things are completely arbitary and require substantially more resources to deal with the idea that YOU CAN BE PROSECUTED FOR A COMMENTS SECTION OF A SITE YOU HAPPEN TO HOST. This is the primary reason why nobody that wants anything where the customer can do something in it hosted anywhere within the Eurozone. Thus, the only real clients that any EU hosting service can reasonably take are either highly moderated sites that abide by all EU regs to a fault, or corporate clients who already are seeking the cheapest option for their corporation.com site. The two of course, will end up choosing an American service simply because it simply works better for everything not gambling, porn, or piracy related. Even then, the fiscal speculation climate in the EU is more focused on real estate and tax avoidance schemes than spending money on random start-ups that might make a profit 20 years later.

This is what I fucking hate most about the Internet. To counter all the doomposting on this thread, i would like to point that, at least on the spic side of things, there is a growing backslash to American Branded PC culture.

I think somehow the lockdown kinda peaked people but in general, woke stuff is seen as "softie gringo stuff" and people are making more aciding and "problematic" memes that what you would see on reddit.

Lately we have also seen a rise on the word "wholesome" as a derogatory against woke people that spout gringo sociology theory or are "uwu smol bean cinammon rolls" type of people.

In general, we have seen a heavy backslash on leftism, as the lefty politicians that promised to fix what rightoids of the past messed up have failed too, and made things worse.

It will take a long time, and i know this sounds rainbow-worthy from my part, but i think we are seeing the DePozzing.

yes and I am a mutt. If I want to get out of this hellhole I don't want to get out just to arrive at some place with the same shit. At this point I'd probably be more comfortable in the more stable african countries than anywhere in western europe.
 
It's ironic that American arguments are actually more effective outside America. In the US, there are wide swathes of the country where oppressive gun laws are largely inconsequential because local law enforcement refuses to play along.
