you know, like pokemon cards or some shit.
i mainly collect:
- old wheat cents
- cheap casio watches
- obsolete nokias and blackberries
- pig toys (it's a comfort thing lol)

might start buying old thinkpads too. i heard the t61 is cool.

This is going to sound really weird but I have a small collection of random recorded audio cassette tapes. I usually find them at thrift stores and it's always such a treat to hear someone's audio diary from 30 years ago. Sometimes I find recordings of psychics and their predictions for the future. I've also found a couple wedding tapes on VHS and I always wonder if the couples are still together after all these years.

INB4 posters come into the thread and label collectors as consoomers.
But anyways...I collect Kamen Rider Belts, mostly Complete Selection Modification ones. They are show accurate, have high production quality and are leagues better than the ones made during the different show's run.

I collected old video games for a decade before it became financially unfeasible... God do I miss when it was niche and everything wasn't $200. I have a nice database of my collection which is pretty impressive, but I can't post it on KiwiFarms for opsec reasons.

Honestly as much as I love retro game videos on Youtube I hate how they essentially ruined collecting for everyone except rich-ass youtubers.
A cart for Super Mario 3 should not cost $60 for fucks sake.

I have a story relating to that. Sometime in like 2014 (basically the early decline of the hobby) I went to a convention and I was talking to this guy who had a Sharp NES TV and since I was primarily focused on NES games he offered me it to me for $100. In retrospect I wish I had taken the deal, but at the time I didn't have the space and I was more cheap so I declined. This guy was ostensibly just a convention-goer who brought it with him, he didn't have a table or anything.

Later on I am talking to the guy again after the convention and he sold it to some collecting YouTube channel, a few gaming youtubers were there including ProJared (lol)... I wish I remember what they were called, but I believe it had bros. in the title. They didn't even haggle, when they heard he had it they just offered him $500 straight up not even realizing if they just listened to him they could have gotten it much cheaper. At that point there was starting to be a stink about this kind of thing, but it was my first time experiencing it first hand.

I have my rock collection from when I was a kid, along with a collection of dice (that I keep in a box shaped like a die), and bottlecaps. The bottlecap collection I still add to occasionally if I come across an interesting one. I was into collecting animal bones for a while, I got really lucky with finding skulls out in nature.

Hot sauce bottles - empty ofc because I like & use hot sauce and I go for only the hottest and hard to find ones so that when people walk into my place and see them on display, they know I don't fuck around.
