Do you think there is an actual increase in Autistics or is it mostly misdiagnosis/self-diagnosis?

I strongly disagree. People who diagnose themselves with mental illness are just attention seeking faggots. Just get your shit together and do your job, whatever it is. I've had enough of "isms" and "phobias". Fucking faggots never got slapped across the face as a kid and now they act spoiled.

I've had plenty of women and sometimes men tell me shit like: "eerm, I have ADHD, I have panick attacks, I have autism", no nigga you're just a whiny ass bitch.

There's an increase of all kinds of mental disorders but self diagnosis is definitely a popular way for a bland and boring person seeking to make themselves seems special, in the negative sense of the word.

I also feel the autism label is used to mask more serious pathologies, like BPD, schizophrenia and the like, because the symptoms and behaviors can overlap with those of ADHD/autism. Untreated and/or undiagnosed schizos/psychos will claim to have autism when they're called out for egregious behavior, but really they're merely lunatics that are in need of treatment and medication.

People are becoming parents at older ages. This is causing more autism.

There's currency in having a identifiable and known disability rather than some obscure one. This is causing a rise in mis self-diagnosis.

People prefer other people to be interchangeable parts as it's easier to deal with. This is the explanation of the rise in autism-fatigue (and disability fatigue).

Not only that, but girls are menstruating earlier, women are going into menopause earlier, men are experiencing huge drops in testosterone and experiencing hair loss earlier. Our collective hormones are being altered through mass plastic use and meat pumped full of hormones. Birth control in the water supply. We're going to evolve into hideous androgenous soy sludge creatures in the next hundred or so years. It's actually so over bros.

Autism diagnosis is up because DSM V redefined the criteria needed for diagnosis vs. the DSM IV.

Under DSM IV rules, you needed more criteria to qualify, and you couldn't diagnose autism and ADD/ADHD in the same person. They were considered totally opposite disorders that were mutually incompatible. These two things combined meant that it was harder to diagnose someone under the old rules.

DSM V came out in 2013, so it's pretty recent and only something that's going to affect zoomer kids and millenial adults who went out trying to get diagnosed in their 20s.

these women will run to the doctor and post about going through numerous doctors until they get the diagnosis they want.
it's still weird that it's become almost fashionable among certain demographics.
you lack social interaction because your life consists of playing a computer game 24/7, you definitely will develop autistic like symptoms
the problem might be that our society is insane.
All our modern world is fucking our brains. Screens, social isolation, disruption to sleep patterns, drugs (legal and not.)
I really believe that social media and current culture also drives the formation of personality disorders.
what happens to children who suffer childhood neglect or have other untreated developmental disorders like ADHD during childhood.

There are more spergs.

Modern parenthood is a failed institution.
Moms and dads bring life into the world and promptly shit on it and why they do speaks to the frailty of humans.
You have an opportunity to form a being that surpasses you in every conceivable way, but you want to watch or listen to some retard talk about the conveniences and luxuries you wish you had or talk to people you want to fuck instead of worry about what is in front of you.
Autism is, by and large, a symptom of societal sickness and parents who would have been better off fostering a wasp nest.
Projecting what you wish for yourself on your children is shit.
Neglecting your children to grant yourself a convenient glimpse into a life you locked yourself out of by procreating is shit.
Using your children as a means to get the attention you crave is shit.

This is why we have more autists.

The rest are grifters and legitimate, no stopping this train (even with good parenting), autistics; the rarest being the former.

Something Something microplastics maybe

diagnosed from a young age, at this point it's become an idpol talking point for TikTok sluts to cry about despite most of them not even being officially diagnosed by a doctor, most Autistic Men ive talked to aren't offended by the word Retard and enjoy Autism jokes like I do, of any protected class Autistic Men tend to have the thickest skin when it comes to humor

for sure I agree, not to go overly TMI but there's stuff like that within my family history, and while I do think Autism when actually diagnosed by a doctor is fairly accurate I do feel its probably used as an excuse for shit, especially within Education in America, in my High School shitbags were rarely punished due to insane stipulations that must of been on their IEP, needless to say one of the smartasses there ended up Trooning out after we all graduated and I wouldn't be surprised if there were drug addicts within some of my graduating class

I'm not sure. When I was a kid in Canada starting school there was almost a screening process to test intelligence and signs of Autism (or another disability) before the child was to be placed in public school. Kids that couldn't be placed went to special schools.

Special schools don't exist anymore so autistic kids go right into the class room with children that aren't Autistic so to teachers especially it seems to be a total increase and it's overwhelming.

Personally I don't think there is an actual increase. I think the places that the system used to send these kids doesn't exist anymore. Special schools, boarding schools for the disabled and institutions are all gone.
