I like the group-type threads (e.g. the tranch) a lot better than the individual Lolcow threads. The individual lolcow threads get way too far into the autistic weeds where people start talking about their tax returns and shit for my taste.
 
A woman picked at her legs until she had to have them both amputated above the knee, another hyper morbidly obese woman found a guy to hook up with on a hookup app, did coke and meth with him before getting her tits literally beaten while he nailed her 7 times.
There's a literal litch who survives off killing other girls with anorexia.
None of those things are boring.

I like to think of individual cows as novels and the community threads as a series of short stories. The mythology of some cows can be quite daunting while the community threads are usually good for a quick laugh.

That's part of it, but I think it's largely because the community ones tend to update a lot faster with new content.
 
My first 100 posts were exclusively in the Salon. Now I spend majority of time in the more general boards. God only knows why I do such mellow posting here of all places. I guess farmers are entertaining.
 
The difference between the news and lol cows is there is discussion with the news. With cows? What else there to say other then "uh this person is fucked up?"

Not a lot of depth there.
 
I usually follow the artcows/art communities - it's something I kinda grew up with thanks to watching BlackBusterCritic tear autists on DA apart on youtube and ustream. Not really interested in much else.
 
I would enjoy lolcows more but it's too difficult to navigate the site and I hate reading because I'm almost illiterate. If the threads were not full of useless people making useless comments on boring things then it would be a lot more engaging

They need to do something crazy like that to get me interested. Play-by-plays of strangers who sperg out on Twitter aren't interesting.

I was vaguely aware of Chris before I came here, but didn't know this place was dedicated to him.

I'm starting to drift over towards the lolcow threads, because A&H has been kinda dull and repetitive lately.
 
The cows are just an amuse-bouche before I dive into the general thread or A&N sperging. I also like looking at random pictures or pictures that make you laugh hysterically. I like looking over the people dying thread, but I'm too squeamish to actually watch any of it.
 
I tend to lurk most of the boards. There's less pressure to conform to a certain standard in the off topic section, so I post more there. Don't want to shit up the main course.
