Does Sonichu ripoff more from Pokemon or Sonic?

I'm going with Sonic.

Many side/minor characters look nothing like the Pokemon Chris claims they are based on (Jiggliami, Layla the "Flaafy") or would be completely out of place in the Pokemon universe (Bionic, Flame the Sunbird). Reginald the Sneasel sticks out as one of the few sentient Pokemon-based characters that actually looks like the Pokemon (disregard the coloring).

Sonichus/Rosechus are Sonic/Amy with Pikachu/Raichu features tacked on, and not the other way around.

Voted for Sonic, I pretty much agree with everything HexBawxUno said, the Pokémon aspect of Sonichu is just a gimmick added to Chris' recolours (i.e. Electric Hedgehog), It doesn't matter which Pokémon Chris says they are based on , He always draws them in the current Sonic design.

Yeah, another vote for Sonic here. He does try to toss in some Pokemon stuff here and there, like giving the chaotic combo typing and evolutions and all that crap, but wasn't Sonichu "born" in Station Square from Sonic Adventure? I think Chris actually may not even be able to differentiate the two, as I think he believes the canon of every video game ever interweaves into this big smash bros-like universe, where everything goes on at once, explaining why Sonic and Pikachu were somehow able to be in the same place at the same time.

Man, if that's the case, I would just about run over a grandma to see Sonic inhabit the same universe as "Spec Ops: The Line."

The reason I voted Pokemon is because all of the attacks -- or at least most of them -- are Pokemon-based, leaving aside the Chrs-Chan Pure Jolt Lance made by Chris and his fictional twin. Flame the Sunbird is a ripoff of Kazooie from Banjo-Kazooie, but IIRC, he gets attacks like "Drill Peck." The Chaotic Combo moves go with their type; the excuses Chris made to Evan about keeping Simonla had to do with always wanting a Ground-type; and of course Chr!s-Chan Sonichu gets every single move that every Chaotic Combo member has ever had. Plus, Chloe and Blazebob are saved from PandaHalo's fiery fate because she flings their Pokeballs out the window to safety (good thing she was apparently on a low floor as she died horribly), and two of the best-loved characters from the entire series are Yawning Squirtle and Boulder-Dropping Whale, who is allegedly a Wailord. (Wild and Bubbles were even raised by Pokemon couples.)

I thought Pokemon too, for these reasons and more:

- The Chaotic Combo have special abilities too (limber, serene grace), like Pokemon
- He borrows human characters from the show like Giovanni and Bill
- Trainers are featured, for example Kel
- The layout of CWCville is eerily similar to the island layout in Pokemon Snap (in one of his videos he describes the terrain, including a beach, jungle and volcano)
- Pokemon moves are a huge feature
- He nicks Pokemon evolution to give lines and methods of evolution to all of his Sonichus and Rosechus, and that includes items
- He steals bits and bobs from Pokemon movies one and two (Blachu's creation, 'I could use pants')
- Pokemon themselves make cameos here and there *yawn*

There are probably others, but that seems like enough to make me lean towards Pokemon for the biggest amount of content pikery.

I'd say it varies. It starts off as a sonic rip off, then becomes a Pokemon rip off.

I would have said the opposite actually. I see more of the Pokemon influence early on.

And of course then it devolves into this intellectual property clusterfuck free-for-all. Really, I'm amazed by how many things he managed to rip off.

Tough call, but I voted Sonic cause most of them resemble hedgehogs more than pokemon. Very close though. I wonder if you can catch a sonichu in a pokeball?

Because Chris thought up his "Pokemon Lightning Version" thing I'd imagine you would be able to shove him in one. Also PandaHalo threw two Sonichus out a window in Pokeballs when she was burning alive.

I think I'd go with this kind of progression. Starts out as a primarily Pokemon rip off, then Sonic, then any popculture reference he felt like throwing in as well as TV show cliches. Also possibly a dash of Power Rangers, but more with the whole team dynamic and everyone having a role.

Oh ya! I remember the whole throwing the pokeballs out the window, I had forgotten about that. Thanks for clearing up my question. With that I'm surprised that back when Chris thought anything written happened no matter what that no one tried to catch Sonichu. I wonder what he would have done to counter that.
