I really think someday Mick should do a "totally not Doom" soundtrack of his own in the style of his Doom soundtracks. I'd buy the shit out of it.

Okay, so after reading the full post, I believe him. I was skeptical from the time I saw Marty's Reddit post, but this confirms it. This post is blood-boiling, and having had bad managers in the past, this sounds exactly like the way they behaved, at least aside from the public-facing part of this. I wish nothing but the best for Mick.

Oh, and Mick, if you're out there and you happen to be reading this? Have some archives. I'm sure your lawyers will appreciate this when Marty and Bethesda's legal goons go into "delete fucking everything" mode.

I didn't get Eternal, with the denuvo shit then all this bullshit made me not want to support it at all.

Who the hell is Marty that everyone up to the tippy top of the corporate food chain is willing to go to bat for him even after a very clear cut and dangerous fuckup that could have landed the whole company in hot water?

I remember when Eternal came out and this was one of the drohmas. I didn't look much into it as I didn't know who to believe - I don't recall anything that was really anything substantial on who dropped the ball. At the time, it seemed r/doom was all up and arms against Mick.

I want to add the part that while it's (barely) to their credit that Mick bringing receipts turned their opinion around, why did they even have this opinion to begin with?

Did the accuser substantiate his #MeToo claim? Legit question if he did, BTW. It's been two years and memory may fail me, but IIRC, it was a Marty said, Mick said type of thing.

That's the real lesson in this. STOP BEING SO QUICK TO ANGER. CALM THE FUCK DOWN AND INVESTIGATE.

And yes, they shouldn't do it to Marty either because it'll probably just give him ammo. But they're retarded, so they probably will.

In my experience 9 people out of 10 who say "do not harass or threaten anyone involved" know fully well that whoever they name is inevitably going to get harassed and threatened. Mick Gordon can't be that naive as to think anything else would result from him breaking his silence in this way.
Then again it's cheaper than a lawsuit, so I can't necessarily blame him.

Same reason everyone immediately believed Helena Taylor last month when she said she was offered an insultingly low amount to do Bayonetta 3, so everyone started dogpiling Hideki Kamiya on Twitter despite no evidence provided, and immediately turned once Platinum posted evidence that Helena was a liar.

I only vaguely remember the soundtrack drama when Eternal was released, and I probably didn't give it much thought, thinking this is just something they'll solve behind the scenes with money. It didn't concern me personally, it's business.

I only bought the game much later at a discounted price, and even later than that did I play one or two levels of it. I think I felt it was an ok game, not as surprisingly good as 2016, but well put together. If Mick Gordon's story is true, then I truly regret buying the game. I certainly don't feel like playing it anymore, but when I went to uninstall the game I saw that I had already done so, and it was months since I last played it. I think me abandoning it after two levels summarizes my true feelings of it, rather than the initial thought that it was "ok".

I like Doom Eternal, refunded it initially due to the gameplay changes were to much and played more of Alyx at the time. This shit puts a large damper on the game imo
 
I was kind of leaning more towards being sympathetic to Mick again until I saw this pop up on my timeline.

What did you think would happen when you dumped all your information like that? You already saw what happened with the initial rounds of controversy, and the damage has already been done. I'm highly skeptical that Mick didn't intend for the current backlash to happen, and I find myself circling back to thinking everyone involved in this issue is retarded.
