DOOM

Pu all the graphics settings up the highest they will go. I even upscaled the game to 2560x1440 and it still ran really well. Steady 60 fps the entire time. No DLSS just TAA. The developers of all the shitty games released lately should take note. This is how you release a game. It runs well looks amazing and it's fun to play.
Agreed. ID Software should take it with pride that gamers are taking a lot of what Doom TDA does as granted, it just shows that this is what we've expected from such a lauded studio. I hate to say it because of course I adore the walking Autismo Wizard that is John Carmack but he made the right call leaving ID Software after that shit excuse for a PC Version for Rage.

Everytime I hear classic Doom/Quake sound effects I just get happy playing this game. After doing a normal playthrough of TDA I'm going to go back to Doom Eternal and give it a fair shot again since I never completed it. But for now this is my second favorite NuDoom after 2016. I think it's a dumb complaint that it's just more FPS Action, that's been a dumb whine about ID Software since Quake 3. That's what the studio does and I like dumb loud games.

Not to be political, but who is this?

Fucking cool design bro, bullet spam enemy where you can't charge it.

Enjoy taking damage while you try to parry, oh and the Leader is a Cyber Demon so random spikes even when it doesn't have line of sight to.

The Arena and encounter design in this game is fucking ass.

Have you considered getting good?

dumb take.
all of these complaints are from people that haven't upgraded their shields, doom dark ages is the most console plebeian friendly of them all, even doom3 is harder on the peasants.

How much of the game is melee based? I'm very interested in that part but I admit I haven't watched a single trailer or kept up with news to go in as blind as possible, which at this point(I'm not buying it with denuvo attached and I figure by waiting for it to be removed it would probably go on a good sale and maybe get some mods too) is probably going to be a year from now.

it doesn't apply universally but I find DLSS quality with transformer model forced on at the very least looks better than TAA native, but a lot of that is on TAA being awful
DLSS wasn't really bad in Cyberpunk. The game with the best TAA I have seen other than TDA is RDR2. The TAA in RDR2 was pretty good. Skyrim as well. It has TAA and it works pretty well.
I played the first level on series x. My only complaint so far and maybe it's just this first level but enemies really can blend into the environment. I may turn the HDR saturation up a bit. Playing on a TV in my living room so further away than a monitor. I know why they're going for less colorful enemies but eternal had excellent visibility on enemies. Also the sound isn't as bassy on a 5.1 system as I'd like. Everything is kinda flat. Game runs well obviously and it feels really good on a controller. Better than eternal did and it felt good too.

You can turn on the original Doom portrait in the UI settings too.
I am going to do that next time I play.

The performance has been good so far. I remember running Eternal pretty well with my 2070 Super even with the RT on that patched into the game later on. I have Rage on Steam as well as Rage 2. What I played of Rage I didn't find it to be that bad. There used to be a guide on Steam that explained how to tweak settings in an ini file for the game.

Sounds like a get good issue.

Despite going into it thinking that I would be required to engage the melee mechanics, I don't have too.

This applies to everything in this game, they weren't joking when they said this game would be the opposite of Eternal, you really can just do whatever you want and get away with it.

If you want to do what you want, this is the game for you.

Edit: Almost everything, Parrying is pretty much required, but so is shooting.

Again i cleared it however this isnt eternal where you can snipe off the turret, that placement exists just to fuck your block meter over.

Edit : i dont even think you need the block meter in the first place, its not like you can attack while you block.

Just finished the game and I really enjoyed it, way better than Eternal. The best change made was allowing the player to have enough ammo to play however they want instead of having to alternate constantly. The combat was better too and I love shield bashing everything. Chainshot + Super Shotty were my preferred combo.

I'm not a big Gmanlives fan at all but he's right, these cutscenes are fucking weird.

All of them are focused on Debra Wilson's character either monologuing or having a one on one conversation with a nameless grunt while Doomguy is just standing in a corner staring at a wall or just straight up not even present in the scene.

Why? What does it add? And more importantly who the fuck asked for this?

I know people complained about the comedy shit in Eternal but I'd much rather watch Doomguy scare normies and fuck around with Vega instead of Debra Wilson scowling and snarling orders at faceless soldiers.

That's such a small part of the cutscenes. The cutscenes in this game are incredibly well done and I always looked forward to seeing the next one while playing through the campaign, also I don't know anything about Debra Wilson but I think Thira is a cool character.

That fat faggot Hugo Martin with his unnecesary and autistic lore shoved upon the Doom series.
Who would have ever guessed the man currently in charge of such an iconic, popular IP would be such a fat faggot.

Anyway, I played Eternal a few times through when it came out. You all think any of the DLC is worth checking out while I wait for the TDA to go on sale?
