Very unlikely to find a non-troon infested community in Doom, unless maybe you wait for a long time and see if they will implode like ResetERA and other communities did (although they'll still be into Doom but the crazy ones will be easier to distinguish). To be fair, besides some mods like Hideous Destructor and that tranny/gender special robot mod thing which name escapes me, very rarely you'd see some asskissing on the mods. At least that's what I remember.

That kinda reminds me of Corruption Cards by CutmanMike but that one is very likely more complex than the one you are talking about.

I think it can be interesting if it also messes with fast monsters and with the right mapset that highly utilizes difficulty levels, could make for a roguelike experience to an extent.

I don't see how people can shit on mouselook when A.) MS DOS Doom had mouse support and B.) Horizontal mouselook is all you needed in Doom because of the infinitely tall hit boxes.

People don't give Doom enough credit these days. It was a coding marvel for it's time, still holds up well in terms of gameplay, and it still has a relatively active modding community after almost 30 years.

John Carmack is an absolute lizard wizard. I would recommend reading Masters of Doom in the event anyone here hasn't already. The stories of day-to-day life, wild antics, and clash of personalities at id Software during the 90s is just as, if not more, interesting then Doom itself.

I'm also gonna go ahead and shill Decino on YouTube. He plays through some of the harder wads out there and makes videos that go into pretty deep detail about the game's mechanics. Stuff like sound propagation, origins of in-game sounds and assets, RNG in damage tables, the list goes on. Honestly, the more you learn about Doom, the more impressive it is, especially when you consider it was made by 5 guys in 15 months in the stone age of PC gaming.
