I love when 90's mappers return with new maps after decades of absence... It's got to be interesting to see what their take on map design is going to look like nowadays... especially when you consider that they're probably untainted by the faggotry mapping tropes of the last 10-15 years. But why in the fuck is an old-school 90's mapper decided to return with a fucking ZDoom map of all things?
I tried this thing, and it's fucking horrible, i couldn't stand playing it for more than 10 minutes. It's everything that is bad about modern mapping in one package, with the only positive exception being that it uses the OG textures, and it's not some one-colored neon abomination in a black void. But everything else is the worst of the worst... It's UDMF, which of course is the only thing worse than MBF21. It's gigantic, it's confusing, it's poorly paced and overall, very boring to play. The lack of comments on the map tell you everything you need to know. It's all "welcome back, Jon Landis, this map looks impressive", and the only guy who bothered to say anything about the map, after actually playing it, posted this:
Holy shit! What a riveting review, i'm fucking sold! Sounds like ChatGPT helped him with the framing of this comment. And by the way, the same guy says he found the first key of the map, after 75 minutes of gameplay. No one else can add anything about this map 2 days after it was posted, despite the excitement of this guy's return to the community. Why is that? Probably because everyone loves playing this turd, right?
