Regarding a point made by someone about role diversity:
Dota2 is probably the most flexible in this regard. I'd say that you can play most heroes in multiple roles and there only a few who are limited to one role. Recently I have picked up gyro as a 4. It's probably not the best meta wise but I still enjoy an above 50% win rate with that pick.

Overall I'm happy with the state of the game atm. I like the current map and there are not that many annoying heroes in the meta (fuck Tinker).

The Ice Frog has finally removed green mines from the arsenal of techies, and now the hero can: slow, silence, stun, disarm, and kill everything with a combo of red mines and ethereal. I'm not sure if I hate the new techies more or less than the old ones.

New Techies is okay. He is not as annoying to play against and invites a more active play style around your team.
Looked at his win rate yesterday, its a hero that falls under 50% in ancient and above.
Biggest change, in my opinion, is his lane stage. The upped the auto attack damage and kept his attack range. Playing him as pos 4 and just keep clicking the enemy one constantly wins me almost every lane.

Because Valve employees actually hate to work.
I'm surprised they came out with Marci at all.
A normal company would have planed that release in tandem with the show, but not Volvo.
They wait until the hype is almost gone again and then they hit you with an uwu animu hero that looks out of place.
That's BS.

There's plenty of Co-Op campaigns that were released for compendium and are now free to play!

Here is my breakdown of latest heroes:
Primal Beast - disappointing. Mechanically interesting, but doesn't offer something different than Sand King.
Marci - Feels like they reskinned the monk hero for the anime tie-in. Nobody plays her anymore
Hoodwink - Nice caster Sniper, but the voice is super annoying and cringe.

@Wongel Gyro may not be the best Pos4 but it's one of those supports that totally stomp pubs if you want to be aggressive. Get stuff like force staff (use force staff on the missiles) and medallion of courage, guardian greaves and pipe, and stuff like Linkens, Lotus or Meteor Hammer.

Two tweets have been posted by the official DOTA 2 account, which hints that TI maybe hosted in Singapore this year:

The scenery in the second tweet appears to be in Singapore's Garden by the Bay:

If TI is indeed being held in Singapore this year, then I hope none of the players carries drugs on them, because a TI player (or even champion) getting executed for drug possession would be something.

Bump, as there has been some big drama in regards to a DOTA 2 TI spot:

With the Arlington Major in the books, this was the final DPC point standings, and the resulting 12 invited teams:

However, according to Valve, here are the DPC final standings:

Apparently, in the case of decimal numbers, Valve just rounds the numbers for the result, instead of using decimal points.

So if the numbers weren't rounded down, Outsiders would have the 12th TI invite spot. However, since Valve rounds down, Fnatic would have the 12th TI invite spot instead.

Show me the match ID. Wanne see what you are up against.
Any chance you play with members of the forum?

Edit: The new Patch should come during this weekend. What are you guys hoping for in terms of nerfs or buffs?

I'm doing fine now, I started queuing in Russia with English as my only language and every game is 5 russians vs. 5 people speaking English on my team, usually eastern Europeans from places like Slovakia and Poland.

In Season 1 I played NP exclusively. I'd firstpick and people would counterpick me every time. I had a strategy for dealing with every counter and I had a lot of esoteric strategies because I had the understanding of the character interactions burned into my brain. Often, people would counterpick so hard they'd completely fail to counter my team, and wins were handed over that way.

I don't play him anymore. Giving his treants a bounty ruined the character.

In Season 1, I could keep the enemy team on the defensive perpetually with endless waves of treants crashing against them. If there was a teamfight anywhere, I'd take a tower. Now, this strategy just gives them money to rebound on.

Pushing in general is less effective now because it just makes sure that the creep wave is pushed forward enough that they can safely farm it and no gold is lost. If the creep is 40% out and just dying to each other, they lose a lot of GPM compared to pushing strats.

Actually it's been several years since my last NP game. I'll try him out again.

Tbf, there are many heroes that can snowball out of control even if you have a way to counter them. Add a competent player/Team that knows how to push the advantage and you just lose instantly sometimes.

What position do you play the most, btw? I hate games when I am pos 1 and I crush my lane and go like 5-1 in 12 minutes with good farm. But then once fighting starts the enemy carry somehow won 1v2 while the pos 5 ganked mid and won the lane for the enemy mid. Despite my farm and levels I still get demolished, because the rest of the team is too far behind to defend or create space.

But hey, some games are just like that and you get outclassed at everything.

Same, stopped playing when they added abilities yet for some reason came back around the time neutral items are in (make the game more stupid and random like WC3 good one valve)
I actually can't even remember that there was a time they didn't have a bounty. I should stop maining heroes that feed the enemy but many creeps too fun.

i love the neutral items, they're a great addition tbh

I hate hard carry and hard support. I prefer high utility, low farm or low effort farm. Hard carry is 100% "durrr i will hit NPCs until 20 minutes then try to do something" and hard support is just "durrr i will lay wards and die after pressing my buttons one time in a fight".

If DOTA was a geographical territory, it would probably be the USSR just because of the absurd amount of Russians in matchmaking alone.

Hey now, sometimes hard support is "durr i will stack the same 3 camps for my carry for the next 10 minutes" or when I am feeling super greedy, I pick stuff like Lina, do my damndest to try and win the lane, then flash farm camps and let my carry get an xp lead. Hrm, then again, why not just pick Lina pos 4 and win the lane for the offlaner?

But yeah, guess I am a broken man from playing with friends that never wanted to play carry or hard support. I was stuck in those roles for like 8 years and I am not gonna stop any time soon, since I have a hard time dealing with losses that were my fault because I lack knowledge and muscle memory for other positions and heroes.
