His persistent sail problems seem to be a harbinger of doom. Do people who actually know about sailing care to opine?

Is it more related to his center of gravity engineering being "as God may will", or the torsion introduced by his cut and folded hull design?

Doug did run aground again yes but honestly this kind of occurence is beyond stale at this point. Honestly I'm just bored of checking every other week to see if anything has happened and being met by the same disappointment every time. Doug has been in the water now for over a year and has since then lived as a scared little boy afraid that his parents are going to catch on to the fact that no, he actually hasn't done his homework.
Also there's the fact I've been keeping busy building seaworthy boats and don't have the time to be wasted on lurking five different forums.

Doug's only sail "problem" is he's too much of a pussy to show us all what a great boat he's built by raising his sails in anything but a dead calm.
He won't do that of course because he knows the clown shoe is fundamentally unfit to sail.
Despite dumping tons of lead ballast into his fuel tanks to try to correct his list and trim issues they remain largely uncorrected, for their underlying cause is the poor design, subsequent ill advised modifications to said design and substandard manufacturing which have resulted in a vessel that has too little buoyancy aft, is top heavy, grossly overweight and to top it off isn't even symmetrical. Add a thousand pounds of battens raised overhead, heavy CNC machinery (that never gets used), home appliances and god only knows however much harbor freight bricabrac stowed in unsecured plastic bins and you've got a dangerously unstable configuration with komm susser tod all qeued up and ready to go.

So my suspicion that there's a serious risk of capsize at full sale is correct? Presuming his mounting job of just (very poorly) welding a flange to the deck doesn't give way first.

Sailinganarchy has got some speculation by at least one navel architect (Doug's terminology) as to the GM or metacentric height of the Seeker. Consensus as I recall is it's totally fucking fucked mate, big time.

His deck hatches don't even have seals. If it isn't a minor gust that turtles him right away there is a whole long cascade of serious issues just waiting to doom the boat at the slightest provocation.

Nice :powerlevel: . I am waiting on the weather to warm to gelcoat my fiberglass repairs (on the entire hull and deck...) Any advice?
 
I can't edit my post but it was the current GF that bought the AAA for boats membership.

I guess he needs to be able to kick it into 4 wheel low when he is tooling around the artic.

Also he says it sails "better than expected" and right after mentions that the portholes are water tight.

He doesn’t need a transfer case he need a fucking reduction gear. Like every other ship in the world uses.
