I had a friend who had a cat like that, except he would sleep at the end of people's driveways, so when people returned home they would think they drove over him when they left and didn't notice. Every neighbor at one time or another came up the the house, in tears, saying they ran over their cat, then whoever answered the door would yell "Shithead, get the hell over here" and the cat would wake up and run home.

My Russian Blue does the SAME THING. I can even lift his paw, let go, and it falls limp as if he is actually dead. Scares me every time.

My anxiety would be through the roof. I've never actually seen my cats sleep, they seem to wait until I'm already sleeping.

Your mini-panther is a carb kitty? My cat is as well. Interestingly, it's only freshly baked carbs, and preferably the browned side where the maillard reaction has occurred. So much for cats not being interested in carbs.
