Egg sleeps on my shredded faux leather armchair.

The cleaning lady came the other day and he's still not used to her. He came in my bedroom to hide from the scary stranger.

Uh oh, I have a little Grinch in my house. It's his first Christmas with me and I guess he just had to take the lights in one of my windows down.

But later I was feeling sad. So he came over to help me feel better. 💜

-I don't know if cats can be proud about specific things, but if I was her I would be proud of my magnificent whispers and thick, poofy, widely proportioned tail.

Another very pretty cat pedestrian who was friendly, and you can't tell from this pic but whose eyes were reeeeeeeeally blue.

Two more cats, here, along with one kitten.

Here's Chicken Chalupa, a borderline retarded ball of floof who I adopted a little over two years ago. To be clear, I'm not in the habit of mocking cats, this little guy is literally mildly challenged, but I loved him from the first time he rubbed his face against mine through the bars of his cage as a tiny little kitten. As an adult, he's happy, lanky, and probably the closest thing I've ever seen to a feline lolcow. The fun eccentric kind, though.

Here's Summer, who just kind of showed up at my house a few summers ago. It was obvious that she was an escaped house cat, but as hard as we tried to find her original family (assuming that she'd been scared by Independence Day fireworks), she ended up becoming a member of our household. Can never quite decide how she feels about any of my other cats, gets the zoomies for no reason before inexplicably going off to sulk, and will not shut up when the bedroom door's closed, locking her out. Not borderline retarded, but possibly Borderline. Is also known to kill chickens from our neighbors' flock, so she can't ever be allowed outside. Kinda my spirit animal.

And, finally, there's Asshai. Stray kitten found inside of a car engine back in August. Probably the last addition to our home. Named for a cursed, near-abandoned city from A Song of Ice and Fire. The only cat other than Maxwell who I named personally (Summer was my neighbor's pick, and Chicken Chalupa came with a name from the agency that adopted him out). Probably not mentally challenged and doesn't appear to have any sort of personality pathology. Just a good little kitten, and my fiancé's personal favorite (Summer and Maxwell favor me, while Chicken and Asshai are fucking traitors closer to her).

It's been a while and a few years so I figure it's time for an update.
I was still rescuing from bad homes and worksites up until last year, until I reached number 9 and wondered just what in the fuck I was doing with so many cats. The litter and food bills started to look stupid. The original plan was to rehome but it never works out. I become too attached and suddenly they're family. I've built an enclosure for them all now so they have free access to the house and some nice grass and dirt to be animals in. So 9 is what Im sticking with for the time being.

I have become that crazy cat dad meme, with gigs of cat pictures that no one wants to see.
That last photo has got to be the most stoic looking kitty I've ever seen

Thread Tax: I'd love pay it but I'm on a business trip.

I've had that type of cat over all the years my family has had cats since I was a kid. We just call them "special". Just like humans have a spectrum of intelligence, I'm fairly certain the same applies to cats and dogs. I've had some exceptionally intelligent cats over the years, and I've had some that are just barely above houseplant.

My old man's thyroid issues are acting up again. His prescription stopped working and he lost several pounds, right now we're waiting on the pharmacy to mix a stronger dose.
Right now he's just a lil' bag of bones
who takes absolutly gigantic man-sized poops. It's impressive and I think he knows this, and that's why he won't bury them. He wants us all to see his work.
