Those mini panthers were super cute, playful, and get this- the shelter had 8 rooms full of cats that you could just walk in and PET THEM ALL and one of the room was for black cats only and I did, in fact, pet them all. I also gave them treats and responded to their funny sounds. 10/10, would adopt them all

It's all based on old superstition and nonsense. Many people still think that tom cats spray and cause trouble, which is only true if they aren't neutered before 6 months of age. The other nonsense is all the old wives tales of black cats being bad luck, etc... It's very unfortunate that people still believe in that old nonsense in this day and age and it impacts the lives of animals that should have a good home.

I personally have a mini-panther and I highly suggest them. Their only real disadvantage is that if they like to walk in front of you at night with the lights off, or sit in shadows with their system closed, you may trip over them. But that can be fixed with one of those simple motion activated LED collars.
 
I think he likes it there, he even allowed me to massage his glorious paws

This is one of my childhood cats Prince Midnight, affectionately called "Middy", a supremely dapper gentleman. In addition to being the best looking cat I've ever seen, he was a supremely lovely soul. Very gentle, loved other cats (he had no territorial instinct whatsoever), loved giving and receiving kisses to and from his humans and was a massive attention seeker. He was abandoned as a kitten and we found him in my nan's rose bush; he was so tiny he was only a little bigger than the palm of a man's hand. We called him Midnight due to both his coat and it was the time we found him. He was extremely playful and loved adventuring. He was unfortunately very frail; he had a heart murmur, and because he had no survival instinct he had to become housebound as he got older, as he would be out for so long he'd forget to eat and neighbourhood cats would steal his food with no resistance. He was a total gentleman and exuded elegance; our other cats were likely mangy mongrels in comparison lol (we reckon he was part Siamese). His favourite game was to meow at people and get them to follow him somewhere to pet him. His purr was extremely loud, so much so we called it "drilling"! It was like a car engine, and he would leave his mouth open often to enhance the effect. Despite his frailty he lived 13 years; he passed away from a heart attack last Christmas, which put a major dampener on the festivities. I think about him often and wish him well in cat heaven.

A person working at a shelter once told me that people refuse to adopt black cats because it's more difficult to take great pictures of/ with them. Apparently some retards' main motivation for getting pets is to later use them for social media likes whoring. Utterly despicable if true.

pictax: a stray that used to hang around my workplace four-five years ago. Very playful, very cuddly, very talkative. Sadly I wasn't in a position to adopt her back then, but I haven't seen her in years, so I assume someone else took her in.

I mean, MLMs and cults are wildly successful, time and time again, because of people like that. Morons do shit like mortgage their houses to sell cutco knives and amway crap.

Also, years ago I had a black cat with a white tuft of hair on the chest like that. That pattern seems to be pretty common. I wonder what causes that?

White appears after black while the fetus develops, and it always starts on the chest or belly. It spreads out from there, pushing the black onto the head/back, until you get a hood pattern like my cat. The way white fur develops is also why calicos with more white have more clearly defined patches of orange and black.

I've also heard that. Some people are a disgrace and do not deserve animals.
 
When I decide to watch something on my tv, he loves to go sit in front of it so I have to look at him. He does the same when I'm at the computer too.
