A twitter spaces talking about her road trip. Things did not go as expected. She was supposed to make content and that did not happen because this road trip was, in her words, "A looooooooooot". She's talking very fast and sounds weird. She got to meet a lot of groypers and she thought that was cool. She had the intention of creating content, but it was so much driving that it was impossible to make content. But that's okay because she needed a vacation. Her cadence is such that this feels like another stream where she's trying to get her side of the story out again. "The reason I'm talking about this is because Ciggy was talking about an incident that happened between us in Las Vegas and ....
THERE IT IS!!!
There are things that happened on the road trip that are no one's business. But she's going to talk publicly about something because ciggy already talked about it on spaces. She wants to make it clear that she adores Ciggy. What she did not expect is that Ciggy is an alcoholic and she knew about that. "Ciggy is a drink a bottle of bourbon a night alcoholic and I knew that going in..."
It was difficult for her to watch him kill himself with booze over and over again. She only has good things to say about the guy, though. She said she had never been around this to this degree and she found this too difficult. She's crying 11 minutes in. There was an incident in Vegas. She said there was never a time when she was put in danger, but Vegas was one of the wilder nights and they stayed at the Plaza on Fremont Street. They started drinking immediately. She said she doesn't drink liquor normally, so it was tough for her. They went to the punk rock museum. They went to the strip and hated it and went back to Fremont street and did habanero shots. A couple too many. Everything was great and then all of a sudden something happened and Ciggy's demeanor changed and it was like a light switch went off and he became aggressive towards Karlyn. What happened is that he was going to leave Karlyn in Vegas. For hours she tried to get him to calm down and he was going to leave Karlyn in Vegas and he even left for awhile with his stuff but came back and they both went to sleep and she woke up expecting that he would be gone, but he wasn't. Victor knew that something was wrong and wanted to call the police, but they did not. Because Ciggy is her friend and she would not do that to him.
She doesn't hold this against him. She has forgiven Ciggy, but she realized very overtly what alcoholism can do to people. He apologized the next day. She and Ciggy understand each other because they are both weird people and this could have ruined their friendship, but she is going to be forgiving of him because it's his alcoholism that caused this. For the next couple of days after this there was a lot of silence in the car and they were trying to figure out how to trust each other. It's hard to know who to trust on the internet when you are a content creator. She talked about how when they were talking they told personal stories and no one wants their personal story told on the internet out of context.
She talks about how so many people use her name and image just to make popular content on the internet and she was worried that she couldn't trust him. Then she goes on and on about how everyone fucks her over but she wanted to trust ciggy because she thinks he's cool and he inspires her. She just wanted to be able to trust someone but that person she trusted "almost left me in the middle of fucking Las Vegas"...
She kept it close to the chest and would not have talked about it if he had not talked about it but she wants people to have her side of the situation. She wanted to find a way to move on from it and forgive him. She was worried the whole time after Vegas that he was just going to leave her on the side of the road somewhere, but they were able to "work through it" and "build back trust that was lost."
She has never been that close to alcoholism before. He has committed that this is his last hurrah and he's not going to do this any more. (She starts crying. Hard to tell if it's real or fake.) She really hopes he will get his alcoholism under control. Last night was supposed to be a light night in Fort Worth. But the night ended up being people doing shots until 6:30 in the morning. She went out and yelled at them at 6:30 to stop. She said there was a moment this morning where she questioned whether or not she needed to call an ambulance for him. She was trying to leave, but could not wake him up. But he did wake up and they said their goodbyes. She said she doesn't know if she will ever see him alive again and she says "there is some other stuff that happened, too"... but she just wants to give a shout out to people who have to deal with alcoholics.
She thinks that he does this because he doesn't love himself and thinks he needs to punish himself. She told him to find a community that loves him. (I thought that was the groypers!)
So in short:
She went on a trip with a dude she had not met and he was a severe alcoholic who threatened to leave her ass in Vegas at one point and "other stuff happened, too."
Who could have seen this coming? And who thinks she's leaving out at least half the story?
