Davros is also a guy that's implied to have looked normal before the "incident" where a landmine took his sight, took his legs, took his-well not his hearing but it did take one arm. Might be remembering events slightly wrong but it WAS an explosion that fucked him up and scarred his flesh. He wasn't implied to have looked like uncle fester in an SS outfit at any point. He was a scientist, not a military official. His assistant in genesis, Nyder, WAS a kinda nerdy looking military guy though so I'm guessing they just used Nyder as the base for the "improved" Davros.
No, it wasn't the arm, it was the hand and that wasn't taken until Revelation of the Daleks with Colin Baker.

Not talking about his hand that got blown off in Revelation, Talking about his OTHER arm, the left arm that's clearly missing ever since his first appearance in Genesis.

Saw the Davros stuff, knew it would be posted here. Unfortunately the actual reason behind it is likely even creepier, it's probably that RTD wants there to be sexual tension between the Doctor and Davros
I am happy I am still the sort of person that this would never have occurred to by myself.

But I would not be surprised if you were right. Urrrgh!

Ok so was browsing through more shit about this upcoming corpse fucking and noticed that a certain "Ruth Madeley" had been cast in the new series as an inclusive new disabled companion....and suddenly realised I had seen that name before.

Specifically in the.....unfathomably fucking cancerous currentyear BBC Discworld adaptation a couple years back which managed to send me into a prolonged mental breakdown when I took the bullet to watch and review the whole thing episode by episode in which this particular cripple was one of the more egregiously embarrassing diversity casting choices and even in the acting trashfire of that whole series I remember her acting as being especially bad and lifeless.

Wondering if this was a harbinger of more retards involved with that shitshow to be jumping on to Nu-Nu-Who I did a lil IMDB searching for cast and crew and found to my amusement that just about all the writers and directors involved had already done writing and directing work for the Chibnall era which makes hilariously perfect sense all things considered.

Oh, she was in RTD's preachy as fuck "Years and Years" mini series, a few years back, so he's worked with her before.

Oh fucking hell why is anyone involved in that flaming turd being given any work?

It's not like I'm watching Doctor Who but this makes it all the more justified. Unfortunately I've been reminded of that thread and the shitty series that necessitated it.

It's one of the main things they dragged onto the show with the reboot, adding romantic elements to lots of the Doctor's relationships rather than them being merely platonic. It sometimes works but more often comes off as a bit creepy due to the enormous imbalance in the power dynamic due to the Doctor's age and experience. Arguably it works best between him and the Master since that is not an issue but guessing they might do it with Davros is hardly a leap.

I'd respect it alot more if they just said "we wanted to keep the budget low for a charity special so we set it early in Davros' life" but if this is the way he looks now cant wait for the plethora amount of canon that will be dedicated to his new appearance change

The implication in the skit was it was before he got bombed which makes sense, but that kinda causes a bit of a weird continuity thing because of the fact he based the Daleks on himself with the whole "one arm, one eye, travel on wheels" shit. Aside from that though, if Russel didn't make the lengthy statements about Davros being a backwards stereotype of crippled people alongside it people would have just viewed it as a kinda stupid but sorta harmless retcon for the sake of comedy.

The fact he went "THIS IS DAVROS NOW OLD THING BAD BTW THIS SHORT FILLED WITH NOTHING BUT CORNY JOKES IS NOT A COMEDY SKIT" just completely tarnished any goodwill that could have been gained from anyone but those fully submerged in dogma.

unironically half the reason I love big finish shit is them trying to write around what a fucking shitshow 60 years of who has made the continuity.

It also kinda makes davros less unique design wise. the shit the put him in makes him just look like a generic SS officer, virtually indistinguishable from some star wars shit. again the performance was great but alot of what made davros fascinating was him being a dr. mangla tier sadist who tried to make the kaleds more like him and that hubris made his creation turn on him.
it only serves to make who more like generic space slop, much like what happened to star trek earlier on.

In his first appearance it was less "make the kaleds more like him" and more "Create a being that would surpass the warring factions that destroyed their homeworld". Anyways, yeah it's fucking weird they put him in the SS style uniform but that's also meant to be a reference to Genesis. One issue though, he wasn't a Military official, but the head scientist. His outfit was literally just a black version of the white lab outfits the other scientists in genesis wore, as you can see looking at any clip from it, so they fucked up the reference probably to try and hammer home more "man bad!" type shit.

I've mentioned this before, but Davies and Chinball are BFFs to the ninth degree and that RTD repeatedly turned down offers to return to Who after Chinball scorched earth the franchise until they offered him a deal so sweet that even Chinball had to tell RTD, "dude, you are legit retarded if you don't take the offer!" permission giving to his bestie to take his job, after Chinball realized that his time on Who was over.

RTD has repeatedly white knighted Chinball and his rape of the franchise, basically telling anyone and everyone that he has ZERO intention of retconning anything Chinball did (Timeless Child included) and that as far as RTD is concerned, THE FANS not Chinball, Jodie, etc was what was wrong with the franchise under Chinball for not blindly supporting Chinball's bullshit.

Adding to this, RTD dropped any sort of mask of moderate political views around the time of Brexit and Trump as far as going full left wing fascist politically. Fucker rewrote the Doctor Who pilot for novelization to say Boris Johnson sold his soul to the Autons and became their flesh puppet in exchange for power and Brexit was a scheme to destroy society as payback for the Doctor and Rose foiling their scheme in the Nu-Who pilot episode.

RTD basically coming back is the worst possible thing in a lot of ways since he truly thinks the fans not Chinball are the problem with modern Nu Who and I'm sure RTD is also a bit pissy that he never had a hit show after Nu-Who. And I wouldn't be shocked if Tennett and Tate's return was forced upon RTD at this point, since they saw RTD wanting to put a tranny and a non-binary black man in the lead roles and told him "we want a normal Doctor Who for at least three episodes before you go back to scorch earthing shit....".

Fuck. To Who getting cancelled again, then :drink:
They've made it very clear that this shambling mess will never be cancelled, most of these absurd changes are likely coming from higher ups using the writers as flesh puppets. OG doctor who died due to the higher ups actively trying to kill it amidst a bunch of other factors, modern who has the full support of the people in charge even in the skinwalker state it's in.

Who the fuck sees Davros and thinks 'wheelchair user' or vice versa? That thing is barely a chair and it hasn't got visible wheels.
Didn't expect this to show up on recommended. I've never watched anything related to Dr. Who.

Well that sounds like they haven't got Murray Gold back just yet because that generic superhero-sounding jingle sounded like shit. Not even picking from 10's assorted leitmotifs?

Nobody looked at Davros and thought "all disabled people are Space Hitlers" or any other nonsense unless you are the sort of complete tool who keeps wringing your hands over the lack of representation of wheelchair-bound persons.

I will admitt Russell T Davies did a good job modernizing Doctor Who back in the day.

When he was in charge the show was at its peak in international fame. Maybe only Moffat’s 11th doctor was bigger.

But this all just confirms it was because someone was tard war wrangling him. Back in the day, he, at least, knew his deviancy wasn’t welcome in Doctor Who because it is technically still considered a “ kid/family show”. So most of his fetish and ”adult” ideas were contained on Torchwood.

I like Jack Harness, but let’s face it, he most likely got the role because Rusell had a crush on him.

Also, ircc Christopher Ecleston has hinted him and others were acting incredibly inappropriate when he was around. I suspect there was some kind of sexual misconduct for it to make him to abandon a safe paycheck, critical acclaim, and a lead role in a highly popular show,

Nowdays, with woke shit in full swing, and ”the message” being the gospel , We will see Rusell at his worst with nobody filtering his terrible ideas.

Doctor Who truly died once Chibnall took over. We are just seeing them puppeteering it’s corpse.

Russell really is in his late Gene Roddenberry phase right now
