Ideally, who would you want to be the next showrunner? Pretty much any notable british scifi personality has swallowed the woke pill, and it clearly show's in their work:
Charlie Brooker? After The recent series of Black Mirror and Death To 2020? I don't think so.
Neil gainman? You mean the man who recently blasted twitter for the recent "sandman" wokeboot and also said nothing when orlando jones was fired from American god's? wouldn't bother.
i've already talked about Russel t Davies.

at this point i'd just recommend putting the program back on "hiatus" until pop culture has gotten their shit back together.
Is Mark Gatiss available? He seems to actually love the franchise which is more than I can say for Chibbs.

The Beeb isn't going to let anyone who isn't wholly on board with Woke orthodoxy anywhere near any creative role. Unless there's some wunderkind out there who can square the circle of being woke without being insufferable, nothing will improve.

Funnily enough, going on hiatus after 13 will mean Bowlestrek's prediction was exactly right, and that old and new Who followed the exact same trajectory:

3/9: the renaissance. The show is re-introduced to a new generation, starts to accumulate a following.

4/10: the apex. Shoe reaches the height of it's popularity under a charismatic actor whose version of the character becomes iconic for a generation of viewers.

5/11: the glide path. Previous icon is replaced. Said replacement is well loved in his own right, but enthusiasm for the show starts to taper off.

6/12: something goes wrong. Budget cuts, ham-fisted writing, and an overall decline in quality cause the shows overall cachet to drop sharply. Veteran actor in the role leaves unexpectedly, amid rumors of conflicts with management.

7/13: the death rattle. Show is in a downward spiral, and flailing gimmicks fail to save it. A shadow of what it once was, it's finally put out if it's misery.

The whole “Capaldi left because of conflicts with the management” was a false rumor spread around. He shot down those rumors several times.

I'm not saying he was lying, but he would probably say that regardless.

Pretty much all the rumors I read were crafted by the anti Moffat crowd so unless it is revealed years later shit actually went down behind the scenes I’d rather believe the actual actor himself over angry Tumblr users.

I'm not sure if this is old and I'm super late or what have you but if you look up one of the old Doctors ("first doctor", "second doctor" etc.) on Google and you were to take a glance at the similar search recommendations Tom Baker isn't referred to as the Fourth Doctor but instead as just "Doctor Who".

Just thought it was amusing that even forty-five years later and old Tom is still synonymous with Doctor Who.

I'm surprised that Google hadn't changed the algorithm so that Jodie Whittaker is shown near the top of the list of other Doctors.

Google is probably too busy doing that for Star Trek in all honesty.

The only way you can convince david tennant to return if you also convince Russel t Davies to return. and i don't think that's necessarily a good thing. have you seen Years and Years? Insane Leftist fear porn that was, where they had trump nuking china and have the villian be a Nazi Nigel Farage, among other things.
BAD FUCKING NEWS NIGGER

So will we have another wilderness years or is it dead for good this time?
Given how this just ranked up this fucking freakshow's chance of being the next doctor, a chance that was already unpleasantly high going by how often he was being shilled for it by speds working on or around the show, due to having worked extensively with RTD....
olly-alexander-2019.jpg

....i would not get too attached to the show's continued existence going forwards.

The RTD simps on Twitter are already celebrating and acting delusional that he will “make the show great again.” Also even a decade later those same simps are still suffering from Moffat Derangement Syndrome. I find it so hilarious that Moffat lives so rent free in their heads that they are making him bed and breakfast.

I still standby that “Years And Years” is the thing that undoubtedly proves Davies will put his political agenda into the new era, considering it was portraying a extreme leftist nightmare as a means of “satire”. (that, and it was a shameless, absolute rehash of “Turn Left” with politics instead of a “world without the doctor” storyline.)

Im honestly worried that if RTD actually does what i cynically suggested a while ago would be the best way of ensuring the shows survival and wrangle fucking david tennant back into the role, that he might *actually* pull it off just by sheer tonnage of pandering to the post-tumblr hordes and the nostalgia bait of such a setup among normie viewers who vaguely memba enjoying the show at its peak.

I have waited a long time to see the second death of doctor who, and now I fear this might be robbed of me just on the cusp of it actually fucking happening

Good God. That'd be one way to cap the series.

With about a few hundred tons of concrete.

But do you think it will actually be of quality? Lol,no.

It'd admittedly be one way of repairing Chibnall's fuckery with the show - reveal that everything from the Eleventh Doctor's era onwards was just some hallucination that the Tenth Doctor had during the closing moments of The End of Time Part 2, then have him declare "Oh, FUCK no!" and redirect all his regeneration energy into some toenail clippings on the TARDIS floor, allowing him to stay the same again (except looking about a decade older because reasons).

Speaking seriously, while they've at least turned to someone who's actually demonstrated some skill when it comes to writing the show, let's be honest, RTD's original era has aged like shit in many ways, especially when it comes to the political commentary. If he takes the current political climate as an excuse to be even more obnoxiously woke than he was in 2005-2010... well, it'll probably still be better than the crap Chibnall's currently pumping out, but not by much.
