The rumor mill (which is probably on the "my uncle works for Nintendo"/"Doomcock making shit up" level but) was that RTD was planning on doing a complete and total reboot of the whole franchise by making Tennant the new First Doctor. Which is probably the only way to make it work, really, if anything. I doubt it, though.

That would probably be one of the worst things that this faggot could possibly do. The fact that just continuing the 'timeless child' storyline is *technically* less stupid, makes my brain hurt.

Tennant coming back would be the ultimate shark jump moment of the series.

Even at his worst, with RTD there was usually something to keep me going,

Since then, the Doctor is perpetually confused; so confused! And sometimes a sociopath.

I never liked Twelve, to be honest. Everyone on Twitter exploded with praise for it, so I assumed I'd lost touch. But then "Hell Bent", and yeah: I feel like I was right the first time.

Your opinion is valid, but I still believe that 11 and 12 were both great doctors who were failed by shit writing. There's absolutely no way to prove this, but I do genuinely believe that Jodie would have still been a shit 13, even with good writing.

Capaldi is the best actor to play the Doctor IMO. There's more exciting picks, more interesting Doctors, but he's absolutely the peak in terms of raw ability.
Taking my subjective opinion out of it as best as I can, Paul McGann is a damn good actor as well. He's at least as good of an actor as Capaldi (who is also a fantastic actor if you ask me) is.

I view Capaldi in the same light that I do Dalton's James Bond. The absolute right actor at the absolute wrong time.

Except License to Kill and Living Daylights aged pretty well. Capaldi's run, not so much

"Am I a good Doctor?"

Three completely different takes on the same character that might as well be different incarnations, for all anyone cares.

Yea, I agree. But due to the timing we were cheated out of at least two more movies with him. I remember seeing LD in the theater and walking out, saying "that was great!", to be met by a franchise-fatigue inspired shrug of the shoulders by everyone I was with.

Does he look like he's rolling his eyes in that last picture or is it just me?

I never saw "The Doctor's Soggy Knees" or whatever they called their desecration of Hartnell, but it's too much to hope that Capaldi gave up and turned in a Jeremy Irons-tier ZFG performance.

There's not too many guys from that era left.

There's just about nobody. BBC would crunch the numbers and flush him.

Hot take: The profession started to be less of a loony bin for clever shitheads and went through a makeover in the "prestige TV" era; something you can only reach by being an apple-polishing striver with a sterling resume. The character of the writer's room changes, becoming more white-collar and humorless. That's not the sort of preperation that makes for a top-notch writer.

Big deal! Donna's big naturals are a universal crowd pleaser.

Say what you want about Donna but I bet she sucked some good dick back in the day.

My vote for the new Doctor.
I know it's not a daring choice, but l really think he could do it, and you know the board of directors would love the optics.

And new companion, Maria Thayer. An American ginger.

Maybe another companion. Maybe someone time displaced from the 60's.
idk. i'm down for more Russell T Davies.

Jodie Whitticker was charming, i really liked her, but she didn't get a chance to spread her wings till Flux, and now it's too late.

I wouldn't be against it. If he could find a good balance between the nerdiness of Maurice Moss and the smarmy charm of Dean Learner I think he could pull it off.

I heard some scuttlebut once that Aoyade and/or Patterson Joseph (I LOVE YOU ALAN JOHNSON) were being considered for the Doctor. But then China threatened to pull their Beeb show orders if they did it.
