As utterly forced and cringeworthy as Bill's sexual preferences were, at least that aspect of her character was clearly defined from the get-go. With Yas, all we got was a really vague allusion in the first episode with Not Donald Trump, then it finally being spelled out at the very end of the last episode of Flux.That’s better than Bill reminding you she was black and a lesbian every time she talked.
I think RTD was fine with Big Finish in general, even if he didn't actively embrace and work with them in the same way that Moffat later did, he just didn't want them muscling in on the grand design he had planned out for the show.That's weird because I'd always heard that RTD was protective of BF against the BBC who were considering canceling BF's license.
