He managed to hold down a job and support himself his entire life despite being a fairly obvious oddball. I honestly don't think he was schizophrenic but he might have been somewhere in that area, like a schizotypal personality disorder. Also it's unlike noohoo in that Darger's odd obsessions remain consistent throughout. Noohoo is pretty much wokeshit meme du jour.

That kind of shit is going to age so badly, even worse than bell bottom jeans.

Only vaguely on-topic, but one of the few racebends like this that was actually good was Mos Def as Ford Prefect in the Hitchhiker's movie. The rest of the movie kind of blew chunks unfortunately but it made sense. Since he could choose what he could look like and what his name was, and chose to be called Ford Prefect apparently to be inconspicuous, also decided to be a black guy.
Darger was a genuine gay sperg

The damage going on is too much for another 16 year hiatus and reboot to fix, someone would have to go scorched earth and go all the way back to the Doctor Falls and start again from there. Even Season 10 had its bullshit moments but at least it didn't massacare the lore this badly.
Honestly, DW has gone on so long you could argue anyone writing it is essentially writing fanfiction for it at this point.

I have to agree that all of this could be overwritten as some new form of identity/memory stealing parasite that plagued all timelords until they came up with a sonic serum which the good Doctor refused at first because he caught it as a child and defeated it so he thought he'd be immune for the rest of his cycles. Basically it's timelord pox/shingles/AIDS. You know I'll be proven right!

The Linkara thread derailed for a minute so I'm crossposting from there
I think Eccleston leaving after one season was for the best since it meant new fans would get used to their favorite Doctor not always being around. Also, it meant he didn't have to be in such great episodes like Love and Monsters or Fear Her. Man, I love Tennant but he had a rough start.
It helps knowing Eccleston left because the shit the higher-ups under Russell T. Davies liked to pull on the crew, which include the shit John Barrowman was known for doing for years before he got cancelled for it, and potentially whatever Noel Clark might have been doing considering what came out later. To say nothing of the faggotry RTD himself was up to. He was also going through a lot of personal shit at the time so that probably caused him to associate it with his run. (He goes into some of this in his biography.
I think the majority of dalek episodes are NuWho versus OldWho by percentage now.
The BBC loses the license to use them if they don't make an appearance at least once a season. Terry Nation was still alive when the Classic Era was in full swing and he had the final say whether or not they could be used. His estate now holds that power and that's the deal the BBC struck with htem.

She was the best eye candy though.
Amy was borderline fetish fuel for the majority of her time in the show. I found it uncomfortable at times especially when you consider she met the Doctor as a child and it made that run of Who the one where I largely dropped out.

Edit - I should add that's not meant as a shot at you. She's an attractive actress and the show runners blatantly wanted her as eye candy. I'm also not going to take some puritan stance and claim I never appreciated that. But the whole the Doctor knowing her as a child just made the stuff there more than slightly "ew" for me.

Part of me wants them to do that just because then it would be a real question of what makes it Dr Who any more.
Get rid of that whole "Doctor" thing too, it signifies white male supremacy because it implies a privileged viewpoint by those who can afford to be educated as medical doctors. Also this "Who" thing is pretty archaic, too.

Next season they can just call it "WhoX."

Finally, Mister Whomst.

EDIT:
Huh, seems like NPH is going to be part of the 60th. Maybe he's the Toymaker?

"Russell T Davies, Showrunner said “It’s my huge honour to open our studio doors for the mighty Neil Patrick Harris… but who, why, what is he playing? You’ll just have to wait. But I promise you, the stuff we’re shooting now is off the scale. Doctor beware!”"

He's playing Mrs. Doubtfire?

That picture nakes him look like Braxiatel from the illustrations in Empire of Glass 🦴

Would be interesting if they finally brought Braxiatel to the screen. He's been around since the NAs.

Edit- I forgot about Romana mentioning the Braxiatel collection so he predates the NAs.

But if he is playing the new Toymaker, I will forgive everything if he drops an N word on the new Doctor like the old Toymaker did.

Completely off-topic, here's a picture of Jeremy Corbyn holding a Sil Dvd. It is supposedly not photoshopped and I think it's hilarious. EJWXUVwXUAEkgoR.png
