Bringing back the Celestial Toymaker would be cool. I wish there was more Guardian stuff. With higher budgets there is a better for trippy cosmic effects to happen to show their power. Shame it has to happen now when the writing for Doctor Who is so shoddy as I am interested in the idea of bringing the Toymaker back.
IIRC the celestial toymaker was purged for pwobwemwatwicnwess round bout the beginning of the woke retard infestation in the early 2010s because the character was dressed in asian robes and "celestial" is basically nigger for chinese people or some sheeit

Odds are its going to be yet another "super duper big bad thanos who is the most powerfulest and evilest villain in the universes and is the reeeeeal reason why the doctor is time traveling n sheeit, who has never once been mentioned or alluded to before, completely contradicts half a century of canon by his very existence, and will never ever be spoken of again after this one and only appearance" shitshow just like every other fucking season since 2010

Tbf, as idiotic as that whole controversy is, I actually wouldn't mind them giving him a new costume. When it comes to what clothes a toymaker would wear, I think more of someone like Geppetto, not a guy in Chinese robes. Wouldn't surprise me if the robes in his original story were just something from another BBC production that they grabbed off the shelf because it fit Michael Gough.

To be honest giving him a new costume isn't too bad. He is an omnipotent abstract god, he can change forms. The White Guardian, his equal, changed forms:

And if it really is too "racist" to call him the Celestial Toymaker they can just call him the Crystal Guardian. Would be cool if they introduce the Azure and Golden Guardian too in that case.

Maybe The Grace can finally make a proper appearance. They are the most powerful beings in Doctor Who by a landslide.

One of the characters also uses the word nigger in the serial.

I remembered when it was announced back in 2017 and seeing her initial design and being hopefully optimistic about it, shame it turned out to be such a disaster. Made me go from being cautious about the idea of a female Doctor to adamantly opposed.
Jo Martin outplayed Jodie on basically every field. It's not the concept imo, it's the exception. Chibnall just cannot write sci-fi.

Apparently Christopher Eccleston & David Warner have recorded some kind of audio thing for the 60th anny. Potentially bright spot amongst the shitfuckery.

I wasn't fond of the idea of making the Doctor female for a variety of reasons (little of which have to do with misogyny). But my exact words at the time were "well if they are going to cast a woman, Jodie Whitaker is at least a good choice. I like her and she's good with comedy".

How much more wrong could I be?

St. Trinians? Fun movie.
Four Lions? Great movie.
Broadchurch? Good TV show.
Dr. Who? Oof.

She was in Four Lions?

And agreed - I thought, and still think that she's a great actress with a good sense of comedic timing. Issue is, the show was already on a downward spiral - I stopped watching long before Peter Capaldi's run finished, with the writing just nosediving in terms of quality.

By the time Whittaker came around, there just wasn't anything to work with anymore. She really got handed a shitty deal.

The next companion, ladies and gents.

Jesus Christ... You see the announcements and you go through all the shit writing, crap effects, piss poor acting... I've been watching Doctor Who since I was born. Capaldi got the wrong end of the stick, and Jodi has just been bad. Hell even the canon wipe I plowed on through. But this ... This is just too far.

Edit: And to be clear (and without power leveling too much), I don't mean I started watching with the relaunch in the aughts. I started in the "classic" era Who. Cardboard sets and Adric got nothing on this monstrosity.
