Unlike most I am not even mad that the 13 is a woman. What pisses me off is that Chibnall and Jodie were the ones to do it.

Moffat has been hyping a female doctor since that parody he did. Before BNew Who was even a thing.

Jodie’s is basically playing granny. She even dresses like a grandma, because God forbid men being attracted to women (never mind that 5, 9,10, and 11 were pretty boys. And Since 9 they had lots of tumblr fangirls ). She is playing a grandma doing a very very poor Tennat impression.

At least Moffat gave Missy some kind of Mary Poppins deal to his female master. The first female doctor deal is literally a granny that just wants to hang out with her “fam“. No clever jokes or the doctor having to cope with such a big change. Nothing.

What a waste. I won’t ever forgive Chibnall for wasting the idea of a female Doctor with the blandest doctor ever just so he could virtue signal his shit politics.
They really screwed Jodie over. I know Capaldi always gets the "his scripts were shit" sympathy, but besides Fugitive of the Judoon (which is more Jo Martin's victory than Jodie's) were there ANY iconic episodes for 13? She's not a bad actress, but the writing team couldn't construct a personality for her Doctor worth a shit.

It would've been better if the Doctor took Osgood's face. Least then we'd have a female Doctor who's familiar to the audience.

Is Doctor Who just going to be this Disneyfied from now on or will actual science fiction make an appearance at some point?
IIRC, this season will have fantasy elements due to the Doctor fucking about with superstitions next to the edge of the universe. Same reason that the Toy Maker was able to come back.

But it's all social capital devoted to white men.
That is party line, but in reality, it truly was a show for everyone. Kind of like Red Dwarf, which also has at least three generations of fans of all ages, colours, and creeds. Hell, it reminds me of my local pub where I watch Six Nations. That's a pretty even divide between men and women etc etc. The communist rewriting of media audience history begins by denying the actual audience existed in the first place.

Since we're not gonna get any new episodes until May, I would like to thank Jim Sterling for taking the time to guest star as the Goblin King in the christmas special. Especially since last time he was the abzorbaloff

No, sometimes a character is just white and male. And maybe if your minority character can't stand on their own merit instead of the reflected glory of previous incarnations, maybe it's because you focused on the "minority" character part and not the part where you develop the character.

This is the reason why I hate Chibnall. Because they did to for social Justice reasons and not for fun.

Before SJW wokeshit when a character changed their sex, it wasn’t because “muh representation” it was done because it was fun, and usually as one off. Like freaky Friday flip. The first real female doctor was in a non canon sketch by Moffat, and he made jokes about breasts.

Instead they gave of us a grandma trying to be cool with the kids. She is so boring, she might as well be a nun.

I am not even saying change the status quo because”Whamen strong And white men bad“. Peter Davison even argued that point as much as you, and I get it.

What I am saying is that if this was done before the wokeshit era we are in, a female doctor would be at best considered just one more of the insanely weird things that have happened to him, while he would still remain a male icon. If someone with talent had made it, like Moffat, we could have even gotten some fun episodes out of it with him having to deal with it.

Instead of the “gender fluidity” nonesense we have now. It kills any fun because it’s just cult proselytising.

Really these people could have guns to their heads and never cop to how cynical these castings are. And then they get mad about the cynical reactions they get. It's the playbook. You're the asshole for noticing the asshole move. Not the asshole who made the asshole move that people are reacting to.

And is jarringly unlike any previous Doctor. Something I could see is someone like Helen Mirren as a gruff, abrasive Doctor something like a throwback to Hartnell. At least it would have some connection to the show it's supposedly in.

Christopher Eccleston was asked what it would take for him to come back to Doctor Who.

This has really angried up some Whovians. Here's a lad called mrnerdyweebofanboy2002 who seems to have created a YouTube account just to shout at Christopher Eccleston and tell him how "I'm blocking you out my life" and "I've lost my respect to you".
I'm sure Chris is heartbroken.

To be fair the Fandom Menance is super delusional too on making Christ a hero against the woke cultists runing the show. In reality, Chris is a leftist too, and he was never a die hard fan of Doctor Who so I am sure he is indifferent at all the woke shit like timeless children.

What we are seeing is simply a fight between two leftist that just so happen not to like each other. Chris’ version of the story is that he was defending the crew from being oppressed, and that made him decide abandon a lucrative role, despite him leaving not changing anything in favor of the crew. It could be true. But it’s not always that simple.

But then again, David Tennant didn’t have any problems and he was very well liked by the crew. So whatever their fight is about, it has nothing to do with the recent garbage retcons.

He does. I don't think he is ugly, or anything. I enjoyed his good acting skills so I don't care.

I just think that Doctor Who lost all the Tumblr fangirls once Matt Smith left because it was the first time the main lead wasn't a pretty young man since Eccleston.

Not a bad thing mind you. The classic doctors weren't young pretty boys, save for 5 and 8, either.

My point is that many new who fans didn't get used to the doctor being an older guy. Specially the fangirls. But I personally don't care because, I just like the sci Fi stories
To be fair many Tumblr fangirls abandoned the series after Tennant left because they complained that Matt Smith wasn’t as hot as Tennant. I lost count at the number of people I encountered who stopped watching because Matt wasn’t hot enough for them. Also believe it or not Capaldi has a lot more thirsty fans than you think.

Worryingly that immediately makes me draw comparisons to DC's Legends of Tomorrow who had a tendency to swap their flavour of villains of the week for each new season. I have a soft spot for Legends and Who could pull that off but I think it, as Doom Patrol was, gets closer to Power Rangers by doing so.

I wouldn't say "iconic", but Demons of the Punjab was decent at "muh representation". It was cool that it went to a time and place where you'd actually expect to see Indian people, and it taught the kids a bit about Indian and Pakistani history. I never understood Moffat and RTD's bullshit raceswapping of white historical figures or going to racially homogenous white places and times and randomly raceswapping people there. The TARDIS can go anywhere in time and space, just go somewhere other than Britain for a change.

Ah and now you've come across the second part of it. Just as communists often forget that there's customers as well as sellers, the Soc-Jus crew forget that there's an audience as well as the icon. Heck with Dr Who that blue police box has way more social capital than "white men" even though 13 of them had played the role (not counting Peter Cushing or Rowan Atkinson) before a woman did.

I like Eccleston because he's old left, he's a different breed from the SJW woke consoomer left. Whenever he's sperged out about politics, it's been about getting more opportunities for working class people in the arts, arts education in deprived areas, and workers' rights. It's stuff that the left was built on, but the modern left totally ignores. On the one hand, nobody gives a fuck what actors think about politics, so I can see why people wouldn't like him, but when he's talking about the industry he works in, I think it's fair enough. No idea what he thinks about the woke bullshit, he's been quite quiet on that, which is probably wise.

Unrelated, I wish we'd got Paterson Joseph to be the first black Doctor. He has a far better presence and acting range than what I've seen of Ncuti Gatwa, and in things like Peep Show he really came across as aloof and alien and a bit scary, but also funny as hell. Jodie and Ncuti's Doctors so far seem like they're trying to be down with the kids in a very specific culture and time period, rather than aliens who've seen all sorts of times and places and have that greater context.

Point taken. Still I think the fandom menance doesn’t understand why Ecleston and RTD are fighting.

Eccleston sees him as an oppressor, and an hypocrite that abused, or had abused his workers without doing anything. Perhaps sexually if the Barrowman stuff is to be beloved. Meanwhile the fandom menace thinks he is somehow against wokeshit. Which I sincerely doubt he cares.

If I recall correctly Christopher Eccleston made complaints to the higher ups and to RTD about Barrowman pulling out his cock and in one case putting it on the shoulder of Camille Coduri (Jackie Tyler's actress) and she let him off because he was gay and in general Barrowman didn't take anything seriously, now Eccleston who is very serious about acting told Barrowman to get his shit together and reported his behavior to RTD and other staff and they did nothing and this pissed Eccleston off immensely and lead to him quitting the show after 1 season.

This lead to a panic at the BBC because the main actor who was part of a massive revival of their most popular show just quit and they made Eccleston keep quiet and say that "he didn't want to be typecast" and after this debacle Eccleston was basically blacklisted by the BBC until recently it seems, this also lead to a sour taste for anything Who related for him which is probably one of the reasons along with not liking the script nor wanting a multi doctor story he decided not to return for the 50th Anniversary Special.

And with RTD back in the helm for the foreseeable future he will never return to the series and will just do the audio adventures.

There was also crap happening to the extras he took issue with; during the shooting of the first episode there was supposed to be a bit with a burning couch or something being dropped from a window and it almost took out one of the extras. The guy directing that episode, I don't think, has done much career wise since.

Eccleston was also going through shit in his personal life, like eating disorder, his father's cognitive decline (they gave him shit for wanting to visit him on his deathbed or attend his funeral, I can't remember which it was).

Damn, I knew about the personal shit especially with the anorexia and his dying father but giving someone shit for wanting to visit his dying father is just such a shitty thing to do

The lot of them are just basically shitty people, and now even more shitty pozzed up with a full load of full-blown woke.
