It's because they saved the overt anti-whiteness for the behind the scenes programme.

The comments, yeesh. An episode of people in a echo chamber, being talked about by people in an echo chamber.

Oh, but it's secretly an episode about racism, because it's impossible the horribly self-centered girl could just be self-centered and ungrateful, she has to be racist too because clearly the BBC would never have allowed an all white-cast to be hired if the episode was about something as mundane as social media addiction and how the youth are becoming a society of narcissists, and not actually about how evil white people are.

I didn't even realize they were meant to be "white people", I just thought they were a reference to the 'Midwich Cuckoos', reinterpreted through a Barbie movie filter.

RTD does remember this is a show about space and time travel, where you can see things and peoples that aren't just allegories for whatever was trending on Twitter when he wrote the episode, right?

I wonder if Moffat, like RTD, is trying to separate himself from or disown his earlier “problematic” Doctor Who works with his current takes on thoughts and prayers. Which is ridiculous because his work on the show is no more “problematic” than the works of other writers and show runners.

To be fair, on a rewatch when you're actually paying attention to the dialogue it's about as subtle as a brick to the face. Especially the part where she's surprised that Ruby and the Doctor could ever be in the same room, or that she thought the Doctor was two people who just happened to look the same.

Related to this I found a thread on X where an autist listed every microaggression that Fruity Gatwa faced throughout the episode.

We’ve lost William Russell, bros.

He would have been 100 a few months from now.

I did not watch the episode, but from this clip I guess the Shalka Doctor is canon now?

They're pushing the "dimensions" angle now, so I assume we're doing a multiverse thing. The Third Doctor there is also way older than he ever was in the series, so that could be due to bigeneration leaving behind a single Third Doctor when the original regenerated into Four. That's just a theory though.

As for the episode, it was solid with some fairly lackluster villains. Not much to say really.

The image they've used for the Third Doctor is from the charity special Dimensions in Time, which I'll grant you is an odd choice.

Makes sense. Last time RTD was around the franchise was doing a billion things. And multiverse is the easy way to do spin offs everyone wants.

Question is, is DW still popular enough for people to care at this point?
The ratings are fairly poor, but they have Disney money now so who knows? I remember RTD saying he wants to do a Unit spin-off which is probably in the works.

How long before they bring back Tennant or offer a kings ransom to Capaldi or Smith to save the show again?
Gatwa isn't the problem, it's their retarded iplayer strategy which sucks up potential viewers. Tennant didn't give them as huge of a boost as they would've liked anyway and Capaldi straight up refuses to come back even for Big Finish content. Smith could be up for it, I suppose. Have him play the Valeyard or whatever.

On another subject, these are the fire episodes RTD says to watch before Friday. Context in the attached image.

Considering his plot line for his run, he practically should have been the Valeyard. And if there’s one thing Smith gets it’s how to be downright terrifying. He just rarely got to show it.
If the ratings keep crashing then you would imagine at the very least RTD will beg Moffat and Gatiss to try and stop the bleeding
Considering Moff was back for Episode 3 and it was advertised as such, a part of me feels RTD already pulled that button.

Nobody can save the show if it's still just going to be niggertroonfaggotry.

The sad thing is that RTD could've actually turned things around if he had tried. After all he did successfully revived the show in the first place.

But he decided to not only increase the woke shit out of spite, but even worse he is doubling down on all the shitty retcons Chibnall did like the timeless children.

Personally that's why I refuse to give him a chance even if I know he is a decent writer and Ncuti isn't the worst person that has played the doctor. But judging by the ratings I am willing to bet I am not the only one.

Phil Morris ( found missing episodes from Enemy of the World , Web of Fear )

Has turned on RTD

It appears he shares more in common with John Nathan-Turner than just being a pederast. He wants to pilot the show straight into the ground in the service of faggotry.
