As the wiki browsing makes me drown in the sea of autism, asking you guys: do any proper episodes/non-audio media take place in that future which "In the year of the cat" is set in?
Faction bug bit you good , eh ?

Emotional Chemistry _might_ be what you're after , it's a book with Eight that usually doesn't go for crazy $$$.

Alright imma blind react to the "trailer" like all the cool niggers on youtube

0:00-0:10 - blurry dry ice fog reveals the fish faced unfunny autist lady who killed the franchise. Yay. Also the editing of this trailer is like that parody Terrence and Phillip trailer in that episode of south park. Oh yeah a cringe haired nigger also appears for a split second.

0:10-0:20 - Jesus christ she seems genuinely unable to emote without looking like a constipated literal and unironic retard. Also shitty cgi robot looking things on another cgi background, nu companion FFFFFffucking old white man and boring she-kebab badly acting turbulance in the tardis. Nu doctor finally talks and its as embarrasing as I remember.

0:20-0:30 -FFFFFucking old white man is in charge of being a stupid and ignorant punching bag surprisingly enough while she-kebab continues to be in charge of being the most lifeless even as she attempts to make big facial expressions to compensate. Cringe haired nigger says "woah" and i just membered he was in game of thrones as the dickless wonder

0:30-0:40 - "Doctor who returns.....later this year" fucking christ these people have no shame...also JAYSUS CHRIST
JAYSUS.png

Picked one hell of a fucking microsecond to pause this shit. Oh yeah and apparently the story arc of this trashfire is "the doctor is hiding secrets"....yaaaay.

0:40-0:50 - .....wait that was it?! 40 seconds of absolute fucking nothing?! like it just went directly to fishface demanding i click like and subscribe along with ads for fucking amy winehouse and ed sheeran.

0:50-0:59 - Erm...yeah. I was expecting nothing and yet was still blown away by the lazy cringe on display here

The secret is how long after cancellation until we get another TV movie
Going by vague historical parallels here, and given the info i just read that this upcoming season is going to be one single serialised story, we are right about to come up to the scuffed "Trial of a Timelord" moment of nu-who, which suggests we may at some point have a scuffed "doctor in distress" style musical atrocity being created to beg the fans to come back....

just...drink that cringe in....

Along with maybe a meeting with a serial child rapist in the media industry to get some good PR....

I wonder whether Dan Schneider is busy right now?

...
and THEN we will get one final desperate gambit by the producers to not have the show be put up against a wall and filled with lead by the BBC accounting department, involving fishface being dropkicked with extreme prejudice and some new theoretically competent replacement shipped in ASAP.....and yet the writers will just quadruple down on obnoxious wokesped masturbation on camera....

Cant be assed to find clips of space thatcher or the weekly Ace declarations that racism am bad innit against the neo nazis she would inevitably be fighting every episode so just pretend they are here

....along with ever less subtle tirades against critics of the show

Similarly cant be assed to find clips from "the greatest show in the galaxy" because i got better shit to fill my youtube recommendations with

....thus further alienating whatever audience members have not fucked off years ago, until someone with the barest suggestion of a spine at the BBC finally gathers the courage to just pull the fucking plug and put the show out of our misery forever.

Idk if it would be exactly the same, for one the fans seem near universally pissed at the direction of the series vs the 80s with proto-consoomers lining up to get diddled by JNT
we may at some point have a scuffed "doctor in distress" style musical atrocity being created to beg the fans to come back....
This time it'd probably be some cringe song guilting people over covid jabs or racism
I wonder whether Dan Schneider is busy right now?
Red nose day special where the TARDIS lands on a planet of small, long haired aliens with giant feet
..and THEN we will get one final desperate gambit by the producers to not have the show be put up against a wall and filled with lead by the BBC accounting department, involving fishface being dropkicked with extreme prejudice and some new theoretically competent replacement shipped in ASAP.....and yet the writers will just quadruple down on obnoxious wokesped masturbation on camera....
Yeah this I don't see changing much except throw in a bunch of trans and "scary internet gamer trolls" stories plus a ton more orange man bad after he's no longer relevant possibly with the same charachter from the spiders episode

The only thing I object to is your insinuation that the McCoy era sucked when Seasons 25 and 26 were two of the greatest seasons ever and almost anything post Series 5 in NuWho isn't worthy to wipe the ass of the worst that Graham Williams or Eric Saward had to offer.

Pains me to say this, but I think that a mix of decades long fan nostalgia and the heavy lifting being done by Sylvester McCoy and maybe Cartmel in the writing basement helped wallpaper over a lot of extremely badcringe episode writing and shit we would these days class as wholesale wokesped (i.e. obnoxious and extremely unsubtle references to whatever political narratives were in vogue at the time, i.e. thatcher bad/war bad/soviets good/waysisms gonna take over that were presented as being shockingly edgy n sheeit instead of just regurgitating whatever is fashionable to say in british media at the time) not to mention some godawful acting accross the board.

I will grant that the basic concept stories of the episodes and the arc itself were great even if the execution was hit or miss at best, the effects could have been a whole lot worse, and as I say McCoy managed to pull off the role well enough to cover for many of the flaws, and in this regard the era stands miles beyond currentyear doctor who and frankly just about all doctor who for the past near decade, but it still fundamentally suffered the same cancer thats killing the show once again.

I.e. Those in charge of writing this shit were and sadly once again *are* more interested in getting positive mention in the guardian than actually making something worth a damn thats going to have half a chance appeal to audiences while also holding up well in its own right when removed from whatever political messaging was written in to it.

The funny thing about the Jimmy Savile segment is that Colin Baker was interviewed about it in 2003 (nearly a decade before the dam broke on the pedo shit) and described Jimmy Savile as much more frightening than the Sontarans:

Very perceptive that Colin. Then again, Savile being a creep was one of the worst kept secrets in history.

Also, slight tangent, but has anyone ever heard Peter Capaldi's band from when he was a teenager? They're not half bad:

CHRIS CHIBNALL AND JODIE WHITAKER ARE OUT

I've said this before and I'll say it again - unless they get someone competent to replace Chibnall (and I have no faith they will), this won't fix anything. Hell, the next person could actually make things worse.

The only comfort I take from this is that Chibnall is the shortest serving showrunner in NuWho history with a tenure of four years. Davies lasted five years, and Moffat lasted seven.

So who wants to bet what kind of bullshit we'll get in the specials? You know how chinballs & co like to have jodie beat the audience over the head with the intended message of the week? Imagine Orphan 55, but about the coof and le evil anti vaxxxxxxxxxxxxxers

I mean, it’s a choice between keeping Chiball on (100% guaranteed shit) versus kicking him off (at least >0% chance that he’ll be replaced with someone better).

Even if he IS replaced with someone just as shit, it’s not like you can ruin Dr Who more than it has already. Statistically, shoving him off is objectively better than the alternative.

Being a series that's been going on for decades and is about traveling throughout spacetime, and having never really watched it, I imagine the timeline of the Doctor Who universe is huge and confusing.
