>"Objective: Kill Gohan."
Hoo boy, now that would make a lot of fans go rabid, since Future Gohan is such a darling in the fandom. But I'd rather feel something and explore the consequences of being a time patroller rather than, well, nothing.

opposed the status quo.
Free the homie Hearts
Also Gogeta's response to Hearts' offer to free the mortals from the gods is hilarious. "I'm already free." Yeah because you have a direct buddy buddy relationship with Zeno, and even then he'd still erase you if your breathing set him off because he's an immature child. It's not their problem that petulant gods like Beerus can destroy a planet because their food wasn't up to his taste. Great stuff from our protagonists.

I am bummed Heroes was cancelled, and replaced with the lame Super Divers or whatever. Call Heroes fan fiction slop, but there was fun stuff in there. Now we go from entertaining things like Xeno versions of characters, Limit Breaker SSJ4, Hearts, the Demon Realm, etc to basic stuff from canon.

Come one man this is so unbelievably lame

Today marks the 35th anniversary of the 3rd DBZ movie!
Note: There's a typo in the title. It should be "Marugoto."

Apparently, according to the radio show done by Yuji Hori (creator of Dragon Quest) and Kazuhiko Torishima (Toriyama's editor for Dr. Slump till end of 23rd Budokai), Lunch's voice actor asked Toriyama to write the character out of the story.

Huh, why? What, did she think that without her no one was worthy of Launch and not even the manga should include her? Well, no actually. From more reading, she was apparently joking when she said that, but Toriyama obligated her anyway out of respect probably.

Really ain't that hard. Way better than hyping up a new form, the BBE, the final of the tournament, for about a decade only to end it 3 panels.

Funny part is, fucker knew how anticlimactic it was (something that DB is the antithesis of) but still did it anyway:

"Wow, in-universe characters acknowledge how dogshit that fight was! So meta!" Kill yourself.
1752465105843.webp
"Yeah he would lame me out." What is this writing? Seriously it was:
>"One sec, let me show you my new form!"
>Characters hype him up, quite literally going "you're cooked!"
1752465301249.webp
>Breaks XII's time acceleration bullshit (apparently, I don't care to read this shit for context)
>Bird announcer goes "Man I glad this match will last longer than a few seco-"
>No diff'd via time stop heart punch
>Summons Dragon Balls for the winner
>Strongest characters reduced to "tournament police"
>Feast

Cinema. If you're retarded. Someone mentioned there being a better written (if drawn more poorly) comic on that site so I'm looking forward to seeing how hard it mogs DBM. And wait, didn't the writers for DBM complain that they did this new Goku form before Ultra Instinct or something? If so, wow way to show how much cooler your form is compared to UI!

I remember looking this up and the first thing I saw was someone's video shitting on it. Way to go, they killed off Heroes, as imperfect as it was, and replaced it with something largely reviled everywhere I saw that wasn't specifically dedicated to it.

They constantly claim that, which is extremely funny because it's objectively a really terrible form, especially compared to the Chad UI Omen and MUI.
Goku and Vegeta totally gassed themselves by fighting each other for like literally a single second.
Like, the form is meant to be like Super Saiyan 3 without the energy drain, and they portray that by having Goku and Vegeta instantly exhaust one another.
Then there is the fact that it takes an entire fucking MINUTE to power up into it, and the fact that it's weaker than Ultimate Gohan, so it's all just pointless anyway.
It's an extremely dogshit form that isn't even original if you took UI omen out of it, Goku used "Super Saiyan Power" where he used the power of a super saiyan in his base form in Toei filler literally decades ago.

The Base Cabba memes where people joked about him crushing Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta are actually applicable when it comes to the entire cast of Dragon Ball Multiverse.

Also, with how Salagir thinks Timestop just works in general, Guldo could've shattered Freeza like glass, because "in timestop, everyone's power level is set to 0"
Or Vegito, if they ever met.

I still can't believe Salagir killed Goku by making him do a "Heh, looks like you're all out of tri-" DIES

So we've gone from "Toriyama forgot" back to "actually it was on purpose" on yet another thing? Because Toriyama himself said he forgot about Lunch in an interview when asked why she "stopped appearing after Raditz showed up".

Do we even know for sure this niggers name was Akira Toriyama?

As a certified Lunch consumer, I'll gladly be angry at whoever twitter tells me to if it means she...uh, I guess, continues to not show up in anything because I don't really know what they'd put her into, anyway.

I just like when she threatens crowds of people with guns.

Kanzenshuu actually has a good article about Lunch supposedly being forgotten. I believe that this interview you're referencing is also at the end of the article.

TL;DR - Lunch is pretty naturally and consciously written out of the story. She was referenced beyond her initial disappearance by Toriyama to the point that he gave the Anime production a rough outline of what she was up to.

It'd be more accurate that he forgot why he wrote her out of the main story. And if the voice actor asking him to, even if joking, being the main reason then he could very well have been covering up this fact. He has a great respect for Lunch's actor in particular, maybe even more than Goku's, cause she was also Arale's voice actor. Many outside Japan don't understand that Toriyama became successful and popular before Dragon Ball solely due to Dr. Slump.

Drives me up a wall, this "author forgot" thing. Happened with Araki (Jojo creator), with it being especially exacerbated by some crab avatar having faggot (he changed it), someone dedicated multiple videos to debunking it (and showing how disingenuous the crab guy was), and of course since they sound almost exactly like Dunky, crab fag pulled the tried and true "it was a joke man, you're taking this too seriously you nerd, everyone laugh at this nerd" despite being completely serious about his claims all over his media accounts until the debunking videos dropped.
Thankfully Toriyama doesn't have as many people going "lol he forgot" as Araki but still.

To be fair, Toriyama did forget Tao Pai Pai existed entirely in an interview he did alongside Oda once.
Oda basically crashed out over it, it was very funny.
But there's a difference between forgetting characters while writing and decades after you finished a story.

Difference is Toriyama admitted to straight-up forgetting stuff on numerous occasions, sometimes even entire characters like the previously mentioned Tao.

I feel like the lunch thing is probably somewhere in the middle, she asked him to take her out for a while, he did, and then by a certain point he forgot about her, the anime staff probably asked wtf happened to her, and he went who? ....oh yeah.. uh .. she followed Tienshinhan around! Yeah! That's it! And that's what happened.

Despite certain stuff being set up or coming back into play, part of what works about Dragon Ball as a comic is it's very stream of consciousness to the point you can make pretty strong guesses to what was on Toriyamas television in the studio while he was writing and drawing each chapter, its not a stretch to think he removed her for a reason and then never got back to her bc by the time it made sense to bring her back he'd moved on and basically forgot even if he didnt actually not know she exists.

You know something I really appreciate that the Jap dub does? Layers the Ozaru roar behind the saiyan's battle cries for particularly big moments. Not only does it sound cool as fuck, it just makes sense. Like their beastial nature is creeping through as they lose themselves to the fight. Shit is so good. The audio version of why SSJ4 is cool.
I hate that DBZ doesn't have the Faulconer score on Crunchyroll.
I was literally just thinking about the Faulconer score. I fucking love it. So many iconic and instantly recognizable tunes. Boo and Cell's themes live rent free in my head.
