I kind of wish Pioneer continued dubbing the later movies after Dead Zone, World's Strongest, and Tree of Might with the Ocean cast, those dubs were phenomenal.

I mean, the real problem with Buu is how many abilities he has that allow him to basically break shit.
There's not a single opponent he would've lost to in U6 vs U7.
Yes. He would overshadow the popular heroes like Goku and Vegeta. When Toriyama ended the Dragon Ball manga, he couldn't have anticipated this problem. He thought he was done with this shit.

It could be argued that this good Buu (officially named Mister Buu in the manga) is only half as powerful as Majin Buu since his other half was reborn as Uub. That's one way the character can be canonically nerfed.

It's not just that he'd overshadow the heroes, it's that he's outright unstoppable unless you vaporize him utterly (and even then).
Buu has so many abilities that just naturally cannot work for a hero, narratively. It's not that he's going to overshadow anybody, it's that he's a narrative poison who actively removes all of the stakes a situation might have.
So you either kill him, one shot him, or make it nap time.

One of the most broken abilities in DBZ is from Dabura: imagine spitting on someone and turning them into stone.

You may think, but he's too slow, or you'd have to be taken by surprise for that, well, if Dabura was good and kept up with the power levels, he'd just need to bite someone (and so, his stone-saliva making contact) and the fight would be over.

Someone like Buu would be able to separate and leave the part that is turning to stone away, but a minimum of strategy would overcome that (like doing so repeatedly, staggering before with the Solar Flare/Taiyōken, creating a temporal barrier while the transformation occurs so that they cannot escape/separate, etc).

What happened in the anime was the most retarded way possible to use the ability.

Same with Guldo, what a disservice.

Can’t remember where but I saw the multiverse comic mentioned so I’m obligated to post rapist Bojack

I dont remember the art in Multiverse being THAT bad. I actually remember it being quite good. Or was that just words the end with Majin Bra(lol) and Omniscient Boo(Omega lul)?
I haven't read this since almost a year (I'm around 180 chapters/pages behind), but from what I remember, the main tournament is done by the main artist, & all the multiverse fighters backstories/origins are done by different artists, mainly from DeviantArt.

While most of the artists aren't that bad, you'll find one or two that can't draw for shit. That Bojack is done by a specific artist whose name I forgot, but also drew like ass on something other backstory before too. Last I remembered, he's probably the most disliked artist amongst the DBM fandom solely for his shit art.

I really do like the Ocean dub, I need to compile as much episodes in that dub as I can and burn it onto a CD.

Dabura and Guldo's abilities are really...undersold(?) by how potentially broken they are, especially Guldo. Imagine time stop on any other character, imagine if Guldo could just hold his breath for far longer. I will say, a lot of abilities can be pretty busted if used better, but plot demands otherwise. As an addition to what you wrote, remember the Devilmite beam? Imagine that was used on some of the most evil characters like in those What-Ifs. Not sure how effective it would be against someone with a huge power gap but it'll be interesting.

Didn't that comic fall off hard?

There's also the so-called "Westwood dub" - episodes dubbed with the Ocean cast from the Android saga later on which aired in certain territories independent of Funimation's one.

Here's the complete list of episodes.

God damn, some Kiwi mentioned someone called Fenyo and why the hell isn't this guy talked about more? His artwork is pretty damn similar to Toriyama's.

He also did some "spicer" art which I won't post but is easy to find. How did he get stuck with, and I just learned about this, the mobile games (good art in those games but...I mean they're mobile) but Toyotarou gets to be the successor? Nah, and that's not even hating on Toyo since I like his art but...well let me show you:

Honestly? If I knew nothing about DB and you told me which is fan work(?) and which is the official successor? I'd go Fenyo. Again I do like Toyo's art but not enough to name him the rightful successor. AF was shit too. Speaking of which, I highly recommend you give these two a read.

Much appreciated, now I have something to do for the weekend.

It was me. I've been following him for quite some time. He truly makes Toyotaro look like the amatuer faggot he is.

He is such abysmal dogshit and I cannot understand why he gets his balls gargled when most DB fanart is leagues better.

This is making the rounds and it's a new low for that hack. He's basically the gook Rob Liefeld. I really don't know why the fandom is so fucking retarded that they see this goofy ugly shit and praise it. It's just definitive proof how bottom of the barrel the series became that it attracts the same demographic.

BTW Ultra Ego is fucking retarded beyond belief in both name and appearance and all this stupid shit is non canon IMO.

Yeah I really don't care much for Ultra Ego either, I was happy with Blue Evolution. I've seen pivot animations that made UE look better.
I didn't mind UI until it became the same hair color change shit. UE is cringe. They need to get away from the hair color things and reusing all design elements like the no eyebrow thing.

It's why I hold SS4 so highly. It was vastly different than the normal SS forms and may as well be a new line of transformations.

Blue Evolution I'm good with since it's sorta similar to full power SS with it being the mastery of it in a way.

This Fenyo dude is great, wtf? Those panels look so damn good that I wouldn't even question it if I saw them with no context.

I think Daima was a success if only for reintroducing SSj4 as canon. That was badass, and though we were kinda blue balled on a new fusion I actually respect the decision to do that. I just hope we get that new fusion later on and it's not forgotten.

Does Buu try to use his food beam on Beerus in BoG or Super? He probably does but it's been so long I don't remember.
Definitely not in BoG. He just gets his ass kicked like everyone else. It shouldn't work on him anyway.

There's not a single opponent he would've lost to in U6 vs U7.
Hit was very powerful, he didn't just rely on his techniques. Buu wouldn't stand a chance, especially due to ringouts. Even Magetta would overpower him.

It could be argued that this good Buu (officially named Mister Buu in the manga) is only half as powerful as Majin Buu since his other half was reborn as Uub. That's one way the character can be canonically nerfed.
Even less than half seemingly. That's how it worked with Piccolo & Kami, and Evil Buu was also more powerful than Good Buu.

I really don't know why the fandom is so fucking retarded that they see this goofy ugly shit and praise it.
I think he's trying to purposefully make DBS his own thing more gradually rather than trying to completely imitate Toriyama. I think it's a bad decision, maybe even selfish (though not disrespectful since Toriyama gave him his blessing apparently), but it isn't exactly poor art even if it's not what I'd prefer.

My bigger issue is with his writing, it's merely serviceable.

God I hate this image, it sums up at least half of my gripes with super. I get what they were trying to go for with all the different transformation paths, but this shit just looks like like power rangers trying too hard to look cool. Did they REALLY need to make Piccolo able to turn orange and give Gohan his weekly potential unlock?
This artstyle does NOT feel like Dragon Ball, either.

It's the exact kinda shit you'd see in those old Beckett magazines

Happy Saiyan Day, everyone!
I remember seeing this video when it was originally uploaded, which was in 2009. There was also an extra video the artist made using the Get Down/Geddan meme.
