I wonder if him almost losing his dad on Namek is what got him to not desire to let his rage get the better of him. He already saw his mentor die protecting him, but Goku going Super Saiyan was scaring him and Goku had to scream at him to get off the planet. While he didn't know that his dad tried to show Frieza mercy (if just because Goku wanted to have a chance for a rematch like with Vegeta), him wanting to be merciful to Cell doesn't come off as uncharacteristic even though he had to eventually be pushed into killing him due to him being an unrepentant monster.
 
It's also probably important to note that Cell is the only character that Gohan could actually kill when going off in his rage fit. Most everyone Gohan went after was fine afterwards.

This is fair, I just think him going from willing to kill some people to "nah this is cringe" is a bit out of character for him, especially since we know he was willing to at least fight evil people after the Saiyan Saga.

Also, like I said, my main issue is the whole "this fight is pointless" comment he makes; the world is at stake, and Cell hasn't shown any sign of remorse or willingness to change his ways. If this had happened against 17 and 18? Who were a lot more mellow than the ones Trunks had to deal with? I would be fine with it, like if Gohan had observed them and realized they aren't that bad? especially with 16 being around? Yeah, I could see him saying that.

But against Cell? It doesn't make any sense and goes against every fight we've seen Gohan involved in since the Saiyan Saga where he very willingly jumped in to try and stop people from doing evil things.
 
I know its a little bit of a stretch, but Gohan was like 5 or 6 years old on Namek and 9 to 11 during the Cell Games so maybe he changed mentally between then. Granted most people don't really change until they're in their teens or early 20's, but Gohan was kinda forced to grow up extremely fast what with the threat of the Saiyans and all.

This is another fair point. But it just kind of feels like Gohan's development in the time chamber should have been something we saw more of.

Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part though.
 
Having Gohan be a scholar almost feels like he's just doing what his mom decided for him when he was a toddler. In my vastly improved Dragonball Z rewrite ya'll can fund on Patreon, because I know better, he will grow up to be a youtuber and massive disappointment to both parents. Just like how Toriyama truly envisioned.

Now I'm picturing Gohan with the body of Boogie and it fits so damn well. I mean there's already fatfuck Saiyans in the Bardock special so why not?
 
Member when Recoome broke Gohans fucking neck? That was messed up. Still think that might be one of the more brutal things in the series, right up there with Videls Facial Abuse audition.

There's been a long running fan theory that Namek really did a number on Gohan. He watched a Genocide happen and really couldn't do shit to stop or even slow it down, watched new and old friends die, had his neck broken(as mentioned), almost lost Piccolo right after getting him back, and his dad was going off the deepend as far as he knew in a suicide battle.
Part of the theory even speculates that the Saiyaman gimmick is his way of coping with what the Ginyu Force did :story:

Kid had it rough. Hell his life kicked off with being kidnapped and his dad dying. Goku had an easier life as a retarded mountain orphan.
 
You know, I dont really care much for the Saiyan focused What-Ifs because they mostly go the same route of "Just like canon but there are more Blue level fighters", but the ending of this one was pretty cool.

As Nappa is some 20 years older than the other saiyans, he is much closer to the age where saiyans start age really fast and so he wouldn't have much long to live as a fighter, and since he got no attachments to someone on the level of the other saiyans, he accepts being Beerus' sucessor.

Alright, so the Pedoku and Competent Raditz chapter was a lie. Like, completely. Old Kai imagined it. (Though unless Old Kai is genuinely retarded and can't sense for shit, it means that Evil Vegeta in Super Saiyan 3 is as strong as Ultimate Kakaditz, somehow.)
After that, Goku got oneshot by the baddie and-
You know what, fuck this. Vegeta fought the evil Vegeta and ended up needing to be bailed out by Bra of all people in a chapter called "Who is the Best Vegeta" topkek.

The funniest part about Bojack is that there's is literally no bearing on the story whatsoever anymore. Not only did Bojack leave the tournament, he's also literally fucking dead even in his own universe.
Also reading through the special and it actually contradicts itself pretty heavily. What with Bojack's powers being considered a threat enough for the Kais to get involved, but then in a previous special Yemma told Goku and co to suck his big red demon dick for asking to be returned to life for a day by Baba for their salty runback on Bojack.

Yemma is a fucking subordinate of the Kai, what the fuck. Also King Kai giving tacit approval to genocidal space tyrants feels weird as fuck too. Salagir can't fucking worldbuild to save his life. Though what could you expect from the genius mind behind shovelware games "Amour Agent" and "Manga RPG"?

Edit: Oh and readers were so fucking pissed about the old kai thing that a following chapter had this: such faggotry.png
In addition, whenever somebody makes a mod's clitty leak, they ban them which also erases their entire post history throughout every page, and considering that all but the most sycophantic hangers on have been banned at this point for getting pissed at the fat mexicans Salagir has janny for him going on their power trips, a good deal of older comments pages are just unreadable. (Laurent implemented an account system like halfway through so that his moderators could ban people, prior to that you could comment without an account at all)
