It would have the additional benefit of providing an alternative to being data harvested by Google or having sites blocked by cloud flare. If he blocks Google tracking even better.

I think they booted 8chan and kept gab (or vice versa), so they're not perfect. I think the explanation was that one only used them as a registrar, the other used them for ddos mitigation or something and pissed off their upstream provider, so I'm not sure that applies here. I guess it would be preferable to avoid the risk of possible at least.

The domain name registrar is the service above DNS servers, - this is the directory of what DNS servers you need to contact to then find out which which IP address you need to go to.

Domain name registrars can add that entry for you but it's a closed crowd and expensive to join. You can't just stand it up like you can stand up a DNS server or a game server or a random server on the internet. You can have an IP if you wish but if the registrars won't work with you then you can't have a domain name on the internet.

There are registrars of course who do not give a single fuck but the risk is they can steal the domain name if unscrupulous.

It's impossible to hide your registrar. If you do a whois lookup of a domain, it'll say the registrar and the owner.

Although you can pay to suppress the owner information, I've never heard of suppressing the registrar.

Don't powerlevel to confirm/deny this, but I'd like to point out that like attracts like.

You survey a room and ask everyone how many <race> they know, I'd bet the people with the highest counts are <race> themself because they are automatically networked with their <race> family members and their extended family friends.

You survey a discord server and ask how many troons everyone knows, the troons will have the highest count because behind the scenes they reccomend media to eachother on the basis of troonery, then they meet in the fandoms, even if they refuse to explicitly join a glbtqiaap organization.

What I'm trying to build up to is there is a reasonable chance that because 100pcent is already a right leaning black person, they do things that make them disproportionately likely to find other right leaning black people, and that sad count (3) is sadder than it looks after accounting for that buff.

Yeah, I say in the exact text you're quoting that Null would have to hack the kiwifarms.net entry to make it work, and that it even then it would only work for people who configured it. I know it's not a real solution and I say so.

But I think it'd be a fun addition to the family of sister services. Kind of like how I think Null mentioned wanting to set up a peertube? Just another alternative service, but nerdier.
