I'm often told that I am very intelligent and I produce quality work for my job, but school never interested me and I didn't make good grades. What means of proving my intellectual integrity are strong enough to realistically substitute for grades? My unweighted GPA was 2.54, and weighted was 2.63.

During my time in Uni interesting part was I learned of a lot of programmers that learned to balance their life/programming career and If i remember exactly some guy I knew finished his undergrad with an average grade score of ~9.5/10 (my country's grading). He was very nice and knew how to balance things. Most likely he now works on a big company and I hope he is treated well and makes tons of money.
Alternatively i met many dumb idiots that thought they were too smart for the system and never bothered to study, these god damn retards were also socially inept and flunked uni.

Speaking of niceness I decided to look into stallman's kind communication guidelines:

It's basically a list telling people not to sperg the fuck out In the development chatroom. it amazes to me that some fat autistic communist autist can design better communication guidelines than most modern age degenerates.

also from RMS:

2. I disagree with making "diversity" a goal. If the developers in a
specific free software project do not include demographic D, I don't
think that the lack of them as a problem that requires action; there
is no need to scramble desperately to recruit some Ds. Rather, the
problem is that if we make demographic D feel unwelcome, we lose out
on possible contributors. And very likely also others that are not in
demographic D.

There is a kind of diversity that would benefit many free software
projects: diversity of users in regard to skill levels and kinds of
usage. However, that is not what people usually mean by "diversity".

Sorry for the scattered thoughts, this one's been a bit hard to write for whatever reason:

RMS is such a pure autist capital-F capital-S Free Software sperg that he simply transcends the very need for politisperging. I would happily trade Drew for 5 more RMS-level ascended turbospergs in this world. (I would trade Drew for 10 RMSes if they could, together, finish the HURD. We need more variety in OS kernels. I don't know what effects 10 clones of RMS might have on greater society, though...)

RMS differs from the Drew-likes in a very significant way, he doesn't view open-source as a "community", he views it as a loose movement of developers that choose to license code under certain licenses. He does go a little autistic about "free software" vs. "open source", but for entirely different reasons than a pure culture war. He has a strong set of ethical principles that he follows in relation to software development, which is more than the average Drew-like who says, "You're a chud so you should be banned from everything."

He actually has some very liberal opinions on gender that have been extrapolated from his ethical foundations, unfortunately, they are incompatible with the trannies.

TL;DR: RMS is a complete sperg, but he has reached enlightenment in the highest plane of autism.

Honestly any time someone comes up with the idea of community on such a loose project as "linux" or "Free Software" he needs to be thrown out. It's fucking cringe, its like someone here on KiwiFarms thinking we have something in common beyond gossip habits. The same way I don't have anything in common with most people in /r/linux just because I use Linux.

Although I actually contribute to KDE/Krita I would not call myself "part of the community" i just happen to have the same interests as these projects thus some funding goes to them. If i start having issues with KDE/Krita or the way everything works there I will simply pull out my Membership.

In my experience people stop being commies the moment they start getting paid and wonder why the hell they have to pay so much in taxes although most people in this space also seem to have family issues which I am glad I don't(maybe that is also why I am not a programmer lol)

Honestly I hope flathub implementing a payment system works out in the hopes most of these people stop being commies. I could just be too hopeful though.🌈

Some people pay for it through money to keep the project website up, and some people pay with code patches.

Same. The government is cool until you realize how many stacks of cash it burns through taxes, inflation, corruption, and so on.

The act of selling things that can be endlessly duplicated for next to free (but not produced for free obviously) is slightly inelegant. It's an interesting dilemma. All the current solutions to this problem are retarded in their own slightly different ways.

I'd trade Drew for a handful of gravel covered in dog shit frankly. Or 1 millionth of an RMS. RMS is a national treasure however much of an autistic weirdo as he is.

I can't stand these woke wackos ruining tech the worst part is how faggots like drew have a say in anything we need more based people like eric raymond

Raymond is a libertarian, and I won't ask forgiveness for calling him that because he deserves it. One indistinguishable cunthair away from a normie grillercon , with all the shit takes that entails.

I'd grill with him. I wouldn't be caught dead in the same room as DeVault and his foul ilk.

ESR is a boomer neolibertarian but his tech opinions are good hes basically anti politics in tech and anti Code Of Conduct he even got blacklisted from the org he founded the open source initiative for being anti PC

I'm not really an artist but the Hyprland logo gave me an idea...

If you forgive me stating the absolutely obvious, the software industry has been built off the blood and sweat of autists like RMS
Randall Munroe is retarded but this xkcd (2347) is very accurate:
Someday ImageMagick will finally break for good and we'll have a long period of scrambling as we try to reassemble civilization from the rubble.
The most sad thing about this a that one day somebody like Drew will come along and break that project.

And we shall delight in it, because the only way projects like this get broken is to be an even bigger autist

Let's face it, systemd and PulseAudio would have been dead in the water if Poettering hadn't out-tismed everyone in the Linux world

This is a great thread and I an very happy we finally moved Drew Default to his own little cosy space instead of the OSS thread in Community Watch. Great Job, Markass, I had no idea about Drews's previous behavior. That bit about the Gemini blog being deleted for not enough asspatting is icing on the cake. Maybe if he had a favicon more people would read it.

Fun fact: Zig will refuse to compile if you have an unused variable. That is Drew-level autism, since it should just emit a nasty warning and continue because it can still interpret the source properly, but no.
Finally, for a long time I was waiting for a compiler that will shit the bed if I comment out some piece of code while debugging and it accidentally creates an unused variable. There are only a few ways to handle an unused variable and Zig devs found the most retarded and logically incorrect one.

And you will use single line comments for each line because multiline comments are confusing and break the zig zen and are somehow hard to parse.

Fun fact, on hare's page, there is a hello world snippet in different languages, looking like it is showcasing the language utf-8 compatibility.
The cyrillic hello world struck me because it reads "privit" instead of "privet". Obviously, it has to be ukrainian...
