I’m wondering: when they say “freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences”, what consequences do they mean? The consequences for speaking about what they don’t like? This kind of censorship and control of the language is what breeds tyrants. To quote George Orwell’s 1984, “If you can control the language, you can control the thought.”

And this whole situation regarding Fire Lady Keffals and her Crybully Nation is constantly bringing me back to that Pixar film “A Bug’s Life”. Ya know, with the grasshoppers wanting to keep the ants in line bc they know what’s best for them and whatnot?

Plus they already block and remove content. Go and try to look at the archives of Taylor Lorenz's Twitter for example, she requested it be yanked.

Edgy shitposting aside, the reaction in the Chloe Sagal/etc threads after their deaths was that even us evil Kiwis thought it was tragic. Especially since some of the last posts in Sagal's thread before her suicide were people hoping her lack of public internet activity in months preceeding her death was a sign she was finally getting her shit together :(

I remember her ex also making some pretty informative posts in the thread. She said something like a vast majority of the time Chloe was perfectly loving, but like 20% of the time when she was having an episode it was like a monster took over or something along those lines. That's why it's so important to stay on top of your meds/etc and not refuse help like Sagal (something that ultimately cost her her life).

None of the thread subjects who commited suicide were the people who actually deserve to die i.e. Yaniv and other sick fucks who've abused kids/animals/etc. You hurt kids and animals no matter who you are, you revoke your life privileges as far as I'm concerned.

Right now we are in the Aage of PR, where as long as your public face is good, you can do whatever you like no matter what. No matter what, if you keep a clean record on the eyes of the public you can do pretty much everything without repercussion.

It's in the same vein that Josh said it: reputation is the most important capital there is and because these people cannot control it because of the forum, they need to shut it down in order to save face or risk becoming public enemy number one if too many people realize that they are a bunch of degenerate proto-sex ofenders that censor anyone that levels mild criticism against them for being creepy weirdos.

But some people do not have the brainpower to know that there are people that want to fuck with others no matter what. And even if KF wasn't the place were all this information was available, they would find it in some other way and do it.

Being a disgusting degenerate in public happened in the past too. Back in the day it was perfectly legal for grown ass adults to rape and marry kids and shit like that.

Nowadays, you can't be a sick fuck without being cancelled by the crowd in a toxic manner. The thing is, before restrictions were made, adults have free will to do degenerate things onto kids, which is totally fine, but the issue is that some adults didn't want to do this as they might worry that they'll break the rule of age gap. Yes, age gap does exist. And by today standards, age gap can be seen as "pROBlEmATic!1!1!!1".
Everything is just problematic to the crowds, and it really sucked.

Some part of me wishes that the rest of society never began using the internet and it just stayed as a niche nerdy thing. So much of this would've been avoided.
