Phil would be played by Ricky Gervais 100% without question.

Even ignoring the obvious physical similarities, Ricky Gervais is also perfectly capable of pulling off "degenerate loser with a god complex" with flying colours.

What if it was animated? Then everyone could just voice themselves

EDIT: Okay, bad idea :p But with Brian O'Halloran and Idris Elba I'm sure it would be a masterpiece. That is all.

And Joe Pesci as Vinny from Vinny's Pizza

Edit - This movie is written and a cast is chosen by detractors. A remake will be made in a few years in which Phil is a narrator, telling his side of the story.

"Wooow dood, wait a minute. Khet is waaay hotter than that" Brie Larson disappears in a puff of smoke and is replaced by ___________.

Yeah, right. Like Phil would ever do voice over work. Oh, wait. GuruLarry already trolled him into doing that 3 years ago.

About 2 minutes in.

You're right, he probably shouldn't do VO. It wasn't great. It'll be funny to see how other people acting like Phil will be better than Phil being himself lol

The cast would depend on the plot. What if it was a fictitious movie in which Phil, famous Let's Play-er, now has to use his skills to save the world? What if it's a comedy about dating? What if it's Phil's redemption arc, in which he turns his life around and acknowledges past faults to rise above his problems and inspire others? What if Kat was kidnapped and Phil has 24 hours to find her? The scenarios are endless and let's be real, most autobiographical films are changed to make them more interesting so we wouldn't wind up with anything resembling reality. We see "reality" every time he streams.

Should call it "Project 8"

I think it would work a lot better if we could get Harmony Korine to make this and it was a tableau of scenes of Phil's and his detractors day to day life. Kind of in the same vein as Gummo. Just a disgusting peek into the autism vortex that is the DSP universe.

If Brian O'Halloran is going to be in it, might as well guarantee that the audience will never feel bad for the main characters by having Kevin Smith direct it.
