Quick redpill for you: DuckDuckGo's founder, Gabriel Weinberg, sold his first startup, NamesDatabase for $10,000,000 to Classmates.com in '06, before founding DuckDuckGo. NamesDatabase was registered under the company Opobox, Inc., which is now long since defunct.

That's interesting. The #1 privacy-focused search engine was developed by the same guy who created an early social network. Hmm. 🤔

That's worth digging into.
 
It always kind of felt like one. Their whole "we're private, just trust us" deal felt like a good cop/bad cop kinda deal with Google. I haven't seen any reason as to exactly why I should ever trust them with my info.

I always thought it was weird they allegedly had all this traffic but were still sharing a small building with an ophthalmologist in a Pennyslvania town with less than 6,000 people.

Interesting. Searching for "kiwi farming" gets you everything but KiwiFarms. And of course, with RationalWiki as the first result correlating to KiwiFarms proper, because of course it is.
